Im not sure Ive ever seen a park this crowded and popular with bathrooms this nice and clean. That is what really impressed me the most. Its a wonderful place to hang out and chill with a group of friends for. Bbq or picnic, or a great place to relax and read a book or study. There are a decent amount of trees throughout the park for hammocks and slack lines but expect these spots to be very competitive. At the top of the hill you can expect amazing skyline views of the city in the distance. Not really a bad seat in the house. The park is both adult and kid friendly, with a dedicated childrens area, lots of peddlers hawking ice cream, and many of the adults cracking open cold ones. There are a few places in the near proximity to grab a pack of beer on your way into the park, but expect to pay a bit of a premium at these shops. Once youre done with your cans there will probably be can collecters vying for your empties so cleanup is a breeze. If not, they have dedicated sorters at the trash bin areas to separate out trash and recycling! Thats green! Overall a great place to chill and enjoy life and the awesome culture of San Fran.

Awesome place to picnic and chill when the weather is nice! We came on a pretty hot Sunday afternoon, but were still thankfully able to find a large enough space in the shade. Fellow picnickers were nice enough to make room - so definitely a plus for that chill sense of comradery! Its a vibrant scene, with picnickers everywhere, music coming from all directions, and a sheen of weed coating the park.Come prepared with something to sit on because the grass has large patches of dirt. Also come prepared to be sitting on a slope, and to be smelling A LOT of weed. You can count on a couple of people walking around selling some edibles (edible marijuana) for an affordable price as well as the coconut man! Coconut man traipses around the park with plenty of fresh coconuts that he opens up and tops off with lots of rum! Coconut man definitely knows how to have fun. A very fun and lively scene, and a great way to take it all in at a chill pace. Downside is that there are no restrooms: just port-a-potties or local cafes that have restrooms for customers only.

Warm sunny weather and green grass is all it takes for this park to fill up like they are showing movies or something. I dont know the history of the park or who Dolores is, but its been completely engulfed by the surrounding Castro. Double slopped with the tennis courts at the bottom its 80% grass with trees lining 2.5 of the 4 sides. Lots of urination and drinking going on around the edges and treeline, but for the most part its easily the most popular park in the city for its size, though not the larges, nicest, but its capita use is legit. Parking on weekends sucks, I think thats why its always packed because so many locals just walk here while the tourists load the spots to go around the area versus the park. There are a few kids playing, parents lounging, couples making out, lots of shirtless and pantless people along with tennis players, but the mix is way more local. Weekends are the worst and could circle for an hour without finding a spot and end up parking way far away, maybe even out of Castro.

Love this park. You can come here and have so many different experience. A few examples. You can come at night to enjoy the view on financial district, come in the morning for a run, come during the day to enjoy a concert, share a beer with your friend or take the BBQ out for a nice lunch with your favors buddies. No mater what you do, Dolores Park is free for everyone and is always pretty sunny. The place is located near a few great spots to grab a bite including Dolores Park Café (features very affordable and great food to go - smoothies, sandwiches, teas...), Bi Rite creamery (offers outstanding ice cream), Pizzeria Delfina and the well know Tartine. So definitely no excuse to come to the park and enjoy some of the great food SF has to offer. Lastly, The park has been recently into renovation mode and the result has been pretty outstanding. The park features an awesome playground for kids and the tennis court is currently entirely being redone. I think this park will be one of the best in SF

Well this review is well past due. Rewind to San Francisco Pride 2016. Per the past several years since coming out (yay me!) Ive spent "Pink Saturday" in Dolores Park with family and friends. We dont do much. Just enjoy the weather, sights, sounds, & treats :D. This year, we noticed a small crowd gathering just a few feet away from us. Curious, we watched for a moment to try and figure out what was happening. We noticed folks were parting from the crowd shoving little treats into their mouth. Who doesnt love treats? We moseyed on over & behold...The Truffle Man! I had never heard of him nor his treats, but they looked delectable so we bought a few to try. These homemade with love goodies were SO delicious & they definitely get you where youre trying to go ;). Definitely looking forward to this years "Pink Saturday"...though Ive heard you can find The Truffle Man in the park almost regularly!

I have a love-hate relationship with Dolores Park, like many other hipster-infested places in The Mission. The good: * Incredible views of the SF city skyline * Located in The Mission so benefits from the more sunny microclimate * Close to good food (Delfina, Tartine, Yuzuki, Bi-Rite, etc.) * Crazy people (you might show up to find that some rich kids from the Marina/North Bay have set up an impromptu slip n slide and DJ booth which is right next to a group of hipsters blasting 80s movie soundtrack music which is right next to another group of people candy flipping which is right next to a half naked older gentleman dancing to music only he can hear...) * Lots of dogs * Kids playground is super cool Cons: * Weekends with even half-decent weather are shitshows, dont come here for a relaxing nap in the park * Lots of dogs * Crazy people * Lots of trash everywhere

Ive just moved from South Bay to the city and I realized that Delores Park is infamous, but its also the hippiest park in San Francisco. Tweaks, hippies, hipsters, fashionistas, skaters, gangsters, dealers, bros, couples, newly weds and kids of all size or color all love it there. Its almost impossible to find a picnic spot during weekends so get there as early as possible with all your goodies. Note that the park is not child-friendly cause there are plenty of tobacco, marijuana, alcohol and profanity users sharing their deeds anytime of any day. Couples, bros and newly weds on the other hand, are overly affectionate as well. The good news is that there are co-ed restrooms available for public use and theyre clean. So have fun, enjoy mother nature and respect others in every way possible when you visit the park. Dont trip, youre in San Francisco :)

I am a firm Believer in the ancient saying derived from the Roman times when Caligulia was the man of the hour that said : "Toith eachith there ownith. " - Nero said this after leaving a night of orgies and opulence with his friend Caligulia over wine and opium. Known today to read more commonly as the favorite American go-to passive aggressive phrase to remain on the either side of the fence when I end. "to each there own. " The reason this thing comes to mind is because I said in my head while looking at this park and the people in it. Either you like to enjoy your Park with piles of homeless vagrants and vagabonds wondering the grass looking for a spike of heroin... or you dont. "To each their own. "
