This park is a recent addition to the County Administration Center (2 months old) and its an EXPANSIVE play area for the kids and their families. Essentially its a human fountain, where the kids and adults can play in the ankle deep water while getting sprayed at by the side jets. Its surrounded by large grassy areas where families can picnic (no BBQ), toss a ball around, and even fly kites! Parking is underground or around the park at meters. The meters are FREE on Sundays! There is also a playground that has modern looking play equipment (one looked like a giant molecule) but the rule here is NO ADULTS ON them. However, there was no guard for us at that time, so we had a blast on the seesaw, the rotating ball and other play areas ;) I can see this place getting PACKED with kids in the summertime. Overall an awesome place!

The Waterfront Park is a great place to get out for an afternoon stroll. On the south side, it has been completely upgraded with an imaginative playground for children, some picnic tables, lawn seating large enough for playing all kinds of running games, and a fanciful series of giant water cannons shooting into a shallow lagoon that children use as a wading pool. On the north side, there is another giant water canyon display, lots of lawn, and a well-done botanical garden with many benches where one can stroll in relative calm. Many guards patrol the grounds on foot and contribute to a sense of safety and order in the park, which could easily have been taken over by the large numbers of homeless that roam San Diegos downtown.

I enjoyed my stay here. Customer service was excellent. It was very convenient especially for my stay at the time,I was in walking distant of the event I was attending, 5 minute walk (CRSSD FESTIVAL). I had to book 2 months in advance since everything else near by was sold out. The price reasonable. The view was beautiful, I could see the waterfront & ocean. The room was nice & clean. I also enjoyed the hot tub very much I had it all to myself for 30 minutes only because I went at 6am, lol. My only complaint was the very narrow driveway, you have to be in perfect alignment with it , I mean fit perfectly! cuz if u dont u will scratch the crap out of ur car.

Great location to take friends and family for a stroll around the harbor. Looks new and clean with water fountains and play areas for kids. I especially like the grass area to stretch out after a good waterside run. Lots of space for people of all ages to have fun. This park is ideal for tourists: its in a prime area close to the great restaurants Little Italy has to offer. Its right next to a trolley/train so you dont have to worry about parking, which looks like it can be a bit of a problem. And walking distance to some neat museums and enjoying all that San Diego harbor has to offer. Best of all, its free!

Lovely place for families, couples, or anyone interested in enjoying downtown San Diego along the harbor. In the summer, this park offers a great way to beat the heat, where kids run through the fountains to cool off. There is also a fun playground with a snack bar right next to it. Parking is metered, along with the option of parking underground in the structure for a flat fee. Gorgeous views of the San Diego Harbor and Star of India ship, and plenty of grass area to sit for a picnic, or just to relax.

I get excited when I talk about this park. This may sound strange, but this park makes me proud to live in San Diego. One of the best uses of tax dollars anywhere I need the city. Put the kids in bathing suits, grab the leash for the puppy, slather on the sunscreen and spend the day people watching. Parking is close by on Pacific Hwy, or in the garage under the park...but the Trolley is so much easier. Get off the Green Line at County Center/Little Italy, and you are just a block away.

Excellent place to take the kids for some safe water play. The playground has METAL slides, which is idiotic, but as long as its overcast or winter, its not too terrible. The water comes out at 1030, fountains dont come on until 11. Worth the wait as my kids were super excited and played for hours. Theres very very little shade, Id suggest bringing umbrellas or something. Lots of short grass to set up blankets and camp out for a while.

This is a lovely park to beat out some heat in the summers. There are numerous fountains under which kids can splash water and have fun. There are clean and green grass patches just besides on which you can have a nice picnic. Best part is that the roadside parking is just a few steps away from this park. and ya there is no admission fee of any sort. Also there is a playground for children to play like rides and other stuff..

GREAT PLACE TO TAKE THE KIDS !!! Security guards help to keep things ruuning smoothly (kids on the water jets) ,Pack a picnic &cold drinks (NO BOOZE ,OR CANCER STICKS) SUNSCREEN FOR SURE ! BRING your own shade, 1/2 tents VERY POPULAR. Frisbee s As LONG AS YOU ARE FAR FR SITTING SPOTS.Let the kids run down their batteries.

I went out to waterfront park on Monday night after stopping at papaleccho for some amazing Gelato with my girlfriend. It was a short walk and nice cool night. Even at 8pm people were still enjoying the park. The water fountain feature is awesome, its got a great view of the bay and is just a great spot to hangout take in san diego. If youre there at night, you are sitting under a great big open sky too.

Weve really only passed through on our way to the harbor. The restrooms are always clean and security always seems friendly and helpful. People visiting the park always seem to be having a good time. The water fountains look super fun, with kids running through them getting soaked! We come down to Pokémon hunt and theres always a bunch of good ones at this park! (If youre into that kind of thing)

Theres plenty of space to run around in but when the weather starts heating up Theres not a lot of shade to hide from the sun. The play equipment becomes too hot to play on. Theres a camera in a questionable location in sight of the inside of the womens bathroom! Theres not a camera on the mens side. It should be placed lower than the level of the opening outside of the womens bathroom.
