One of the better maintained areas of Balboa Park. Trees look pretty healthy. Two large groups of Bunya-Bunya trees mark the entrance from 25th st. A grouping of Jelly palms is on the north side. Canary Island pines and Torrey pines. Some Moreton bay figs to sit under... Nice Australian tea trees. Excellent views of downtown, I-5, Navy Hospital, Florida Drive, the golf course, and some of North Park in the distance.

Great in the day (multiple moms group in the week) but gets a little sketchy at sunset as the homeless people move in. Police sometimes there but they could do with moving on the drunks who are frequently seen passed out on the grass. People also drive too fast around the loop road & too many dogs crapping on the grass with owners not picking it up.

Fantastic views of downtown. Huge ancient coral trees. Cant play on the roots though, theyve fenced them off. Decent open space for an urban park. You can also watch the golfers at the Balboa course. Directly in the Lindbergh flight path. Pretty cool if you like planes.

The drought has not been good to this park. Grass is suffering. If you like plane spotting enjoy the parade of flights overhead. Seems the park is right under a landing pattern for the airport. Little park makes for a good beer garden when Tour de Fat came here.

This is my favorite park in San Diego! It has a beautiful view of Downtown as well, of course the problem with it is that it gets opened so late. It use to open really early in the morning but the guy who opened the park no longer works there D:

Beautiful park with some neat views of the surrounding canyons; the perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon. Much like the rest of Golden Hill however, mind the airplane noise.

Grew up going to the park to take free tap dancing lessons,play ball etc. Fun memories.

Navy Blue

Lots of drunks and broken glass at night. Unsafe after sunset.
