One of the best spots on land to see whales of all types. Stop by and visit the Gray Whale Census. ACS/LA GRAY WHALE CENSUS AND BEHAVIOR PROJECT This shore-based whale census takes place on the Palos Verdes Peninsula and has been going on since 1979. Observers spot migrating Pacific Gray Whales on their annual migration both north and south from this vantage and record their observations of both their numbers and behavior. The project runs from December 1st through May 15th and is currently located at the Pt. Vicente Interpretive Center.

This is one of my favorite places. Its a good place to just sit and enjoy the view and the cool breeze. Its a good place to watch whales when they are migrating up and down the coast. Its a good place to eat a relaxing picnic. Its a nice place to bring visitors. And the little museum is interesting. There is even a gift shop with books of local interest, a few vending machines, and restrooms. There is no play equipment for children; thats not what this place is about.

I was a guest at a wedding in 2013, and a really rude older woman who worked there was rude to guests. She had the attitude we were all children and spoke down to us. I wish I had gotten her name. While the view was nice, this butch lady was quite rude. A few fellow guest spilled beers and she said unkind things under her breath.

One of the most scenic places along CA-1. If you are a whale watching enthusiast or wanting to capture the sun set or just want to take a stroll along the scenic coast, you can visit this place. The center itself has a small met explaining the local fauna. All in all a place that exemplifies the serenity of palos verdes..

Very small museum but with interesting info on the natural and man made history of this part of the California coastline. Major highlight is the year round on going whale watching from the back patio. You can access the pleasant seaside trail from the museum.

It was great. We saw several gray whales and fin whales too! A school of common dolphins were playing offshore as well. The docents and volunteers counting whales were very knowledgeable and friendly. Great place to go to see whales.

This is a free museum in a beautiful park setting. Up on the Palos Verde bluffs, the museum has geology, zoology and history on display. Whale watching, among other coastal life, is inspiring. Bring a picnic and spend some time.

Very lovely view. Watching the waves, gives serenity. Plenty of parking. A nice walk around the park. It can be crowded some times but overall, it is quite nice. Make sure to bring a jacket because it can get quite windy.

A great spot for landside whale watching. The Cetaecean Society makes its official observations here. Bluff top trails offer spectacular views of Catalina, Malibu and flocks of pelicans gliding above the rocky beach.

Went on a docent led tour and even though we walk here all the time we learned new things and observed things we passed by before. The lighthouse was also open and got to see it from a different angle.

Beautiful location, lovely walks. Interpretive center itself is fine, with helpful staff, but main benefits of the place are the many benches and the well-maintained trail.
