My husband and I visited the Flight Path Museum over the holidays and enjoyed it so much that we returned again today with the in-laws. There are so many reasons to visit this wonderful learning center! The history of LAX is presented along with memorabilia from the various airlines that have flown and continue to fly into the airport. The museum displays a DC-3 which was first operated by TWA and then, Union Oil. You can actually step inside and take a look, but because it is on airport property, a museum volunteer will escort you onboard. The volunteers have all worked in the airline industry and they are friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about sharing their love of LAX. Along with a front row seat to the busy runways, the best thing about the museum is that it is free! Although the price is right, dont let that stop you from making a donation to keep this gem up and running! Definitely a recommended place to visit!!!

Flight Path Learning Center is a great location to soak in a wide range of aviation history. There is a great deal of commercial aircraft memorabilia, including pins, luggage, suits and uniforms. A slew of models show a wide range of plane and planes types. The center is made of of many rooms, making it a delight to explore each and take your time. They also have a historic DC-3 outside, which you can go inside, sit down in - even in the cockpit! This is a learning center, and to further support that they offer Flight Sim training, with an impressive number of computers to support students. Pro tip - take some cash with you. Although its free, they do ask for donations. Take some cash so you can give to this great center.

This is a hidden gem in Los Angeles. You will learn about the history of commercial flight as well as about the history of LAX. They have an old Douglas DC-3 with corporate interior. You can go inside and see what traveling was like back then. You also get to go outside onto the tarmac, which gives you great views of the airport and planes taking off or taxing to the terminal. They have a ton of old airline uniforms on display. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They explain you everything if you have questions. Impressive is also the big library inside with tons of books about aviation and even operation manuals of aircrafts.
