Our family is converging on Sacramento from several locations a long ways away and were looking for a community park that also had access to a dog park, so I was drawn to the Hagan Off-Leash Park as perfect ... until I saw that it is only open M-F 8-5 and closed on the weekend. So, when people normally have a modicum of free time (in the evening after work and on the weekends), the dog park is unavailable. The only advantage I can see is that the area would need less maintenance than if it were open at times when many more might be able to use it. I am certain there is some sort of rationale for this, but whatever it is does not hold a bit of weight against common sense and a basic expression of the common good.

Big, beautiful, lots of space and parking. Only cost four dollars a car to drive in. Otherwise you can park close and walk in. The bathrooms are nice too. Good picnic area with tables, baseball diamond playgrounds, ducks and geese with their families. But some parents should keep in mind that it isnt cute to allow a child to chase after the geese with a stick. If the kid had been attacked by the geese protecting their families, then there would have been a complaint made about the poor kid being attacked for no apparent reason!

Everytime I take my dogs to the dog park, they have one of the runs closed due to maintenance and sometimes two. Its irritating because I have three rescues and were trying to get them socialized but at a slower pace not at a all or nothing. The maintenence thats supposedly is being done, looks like there isnt anything being done.

The 4th of July Celebrations were here. Kids enjoyed it however the food and rides were pricey and not affordable for many families. Fireworks were spectacular.No lights in the toilets. Entry for the parking area cost $10 per car and entry fee to the fireworks cost $2per person. So upfront expect to pay $18 for a family of four!

This park has pretty much EVERYTHING a park can have. Fishing pond, dog park, 4H / Girlscouts barn, Train rides, playgrounds, picnic pavilions, lots of benches and picnic tables, wide open grassy areas, bike trails, paved walking trails, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, etc. Great spot to spend some time with the family.

This is one of the best places around to join the annual Easter egg hunting event for the kids! Program is well organized with lots of prizes to enjoy. Theres pancake breakfast, too! Other usual gigs are face painting, inflatable play houses and a picture with the easter bunny.

Is a nice little Park. Expect to pay $5 to park. They have a model train club that runs the large scale trains that you can ride on, if the signs down "trains are open" you can get a ride for free. Beautiful Duck pond, great picnic areas and some play structures for the kids

Beautiful park. My family and I went to the Halloween event and had a wonderful time. The park itself is very clean and welcoming. Take a look at the water around the park and get some great pictures of your kids. They host great events here including breakfast with Santa.

Large park that have river access and American river bike trail. Dog play area, small lake that needs some TLC. Overall very good park. The swim pool is still under construction. Very small play ground for the kids, needs to be updated for a large park thus size.

First time here, came early in the morning with my son. Theres so much geese and dog and duck poop everywhere. All over the parking lots and sidewalks. I didnt want to walk in poop and then track it in to my car and home. I dont like this kind of thing.

I like the 4th of July activities that were held in this park. Admission was reasonable, the place was very secured, parking was available, and fireworks were awesome. Moreover, it happens within 3 miles of my residency. Ill be there every year!

Everything include huge park, lots to see, well maintained and variety of activities for a person that likes exercise. Or just relaxing access to the river and so other good thing the more you explore the more you find out about the place.

Park is huge and great for parties or events. There is a big gazebo which you can go to. Also there is a dog park with 3 segregated pens. Has a pond, playground, access to the river, and bike trail.

I love this park for multiple reasons. First of all easy access to Jedediah Smith Memorial trail - best bicycle trail in town. Secondly there is so much wildlife! Deers, geese, ducks, rabbits!

Love this place grew up here and years later its still beautiful. .. Lots of shade with a pond to feed the ducks lots of features for the kids not to mention a dog park and bike trail

They have really upgraded this place since I was a kid fountain wise and creeks. The time I visited all the pools are drained and empty and playgrounds and bball hoops need upgrading.

This is a very clean park and well landscaped. Good dog park and boarders the American River Parkway. Also, Soil Born Farms is next door with organic food & free samples.

Giant park with ponds, pools, baseball, soccer, animals and a little bit of everything. More of a community project and its very close to the river

Great place, not enough water fountains! Lots of ducks, great place to walk around....some Pokéstops and a gym or two the farther you walk.

Petting zoo , mini train , swimming pools , not to mention softball fields and soccer plus tennis courts . An amazing experience for all .

Love the office staff! The day camp counselors are awesome with my kids! They offer many programs for kids and families all year.
