Our group was seated in the main dining area next to the bar. Next to our table was another large empty table. Behind both of these large tables were doors which opened into the outdoor seating area of the restaurant. Soon after being seated, we noticed that servers were using the door right in front of our table to enter and exit the indoor and outdoor seating area. The temperature in Pleasanton was 40 degrees that night. Every time a server opened the door to exit to the outdoor area, it would result in a cold draft blowing directly on to our table. The 2 doors to our left, which were in front of an empty table, led to the same outdoor area. Noticing that the table next to us was empty, I called our server and asked if he could use those two doors instead so that the cold draft would not blow directly at our table and food. The server told me that he would check with his manager. The manager never came to address this issue. The servers continued to exit in and out of the same door that was right in front of our table. My parents who were seated at the other end of the table, flagged down a different server informing them that the cold draft was bothering us. The server said she would check with her manager. The manager never came to address this issue. After getting no response, I flagged down our server again and informed him of this issue. Again, the server said he would check with his manager. Again, the manager never came to address this issue. Servers continued to exit in and out of the same door right in front of our table. My mother has been suffering from a chronic cold and began coughing as a result of the multiple drafts that kept coming in. At this point, my father who was extremely frustrated with the lack of response from Ruby Hill, stood up to stand and wait by the specific door in question. The manager, Marc Valone finally came over. This was after 30 minutes from when we first raised our concerns about the cold draft. My father attempted to explain what had happened and why he was standing by the door. Mr. Valone stated that he was seating a table outside and therefore the servers had to be going in and out. Rather than listening to my father and attempting to address our concerns, Mr. Valone escalated the situation by raising his voice and pointing at our faces. Mr. Valone failed to address why he felt was acceptable for a cold draft to be blowing on to our table every 5 minutes when it was extremely simple for the servers to use the doors slightly further away from our table. Mr. Valone failed to listen to our issues and instead cut my wife and myself off multiple times in the course of our conversation with him. After going back and forth for several minutes, Mr. Valone finally acknowledged that he could direct his servers to use the other doors. This could have easily been done from the beginning and we received no explanation for why it took so long for the situation to be addressed. Mr. Valone stated that he would ensure the door behind our table would stay closed for the rest of the night. However, severs used that same door again on three separate occasions after our conversation with Mr. Valone. The cold draft continued to blow on to my mother who was ill, and the cold draft continued to blow onto our food. Mr. Valone failed to supervise his servers or take note of any of these occurrences. At this point we just gave up and tried to salvage what we could of the rest of the night. We left the restaurant at around 9:30pm. At the time that we left, the table next to us was still empty. This meant that the two doors in front of the empty table could have been used for the entire evening. Instead, servers continued to use the door right in front of us which resulted in an unnecessary cold draft blowing in our faces while we were trying to eat and enjoy a nice meal. Compared to nearby Wente Vineyards, who actually knows a thing or two about customer service, dining at Ruby Hill left a sour taste in our mouth. We will not be coming back here again.

The new members so called cellar and uninviting and uncomfortable bar/dining room is a continuous disappointment. Being closed off from our beautiful main dining room with curtains/drapes/partitions does not make for a friendly and welcoming place to dine and meet with friends. Met with girlfriends for wine and appetizers the other night and the draft from people/staff coming in and out the doors leading to the patio was terrible and we all had to don our coats plus we were seated at a huge table and could not hear each other speak. The acoustics in that room are horrid. We had made booth reservations earlier in the week for dinner tonight and were looking forward to a quiet celebratory dinner together when at 4:15 pm tonight we received a telephone call from Ruby telling us we would have to dine at a large table in the bar area as the Cellar (?) and all booths had been reserved for a "beer dinner". We would have had to sit at a large table with others which was not how we wanted to celebrate a special evening. The person calling had total disregard for our plight and was not apologetic in any way. No wonder we are hearing of so many complaints regarding this new isolated and uncomfortable so-called updated members dining lounge. Totally disgusted.

Great wedding venue - especially liked the tented bar area. They seemed accommodating, but the facility-staffed bartenders were arguing openly throughout the evening. The ceremony was held outdoors, and was interrupted a few times by planes passing overhead and golfers talking loudly at the 19th hole.

I really enjoyed this course. The clubhouse is very nice, and the holes were all well maintained. Bring your sunscreen and water!
