Follow the advice of the previous reviewer: DO NOT BOOK THE RANCH until they get a real event coordinator or a new General Manager. KRISTY was a nightmare to work with. She lacks the people skills necessary to interact with clients on a regular basis. My adventure with this place begins like this: I meet with Event Coordinator Chrissy to help my mom arrange a location for my wife’s baby shower. The discussion went well and we were very excited to use that facility. Since we knew that guest would number between 40-50. Chissy told us that if we over estimated and some didn’t show, she would help alleviate the cost by adding complimentary wine to help offset the overpayment. This was awesome! 2nd Two weeks before the event…After several unsuccessful attempts to reach the usually responsive Chrissy, I get a voicemail stating Chrissy has quit and that John will be handling the event from that point forward. I was very nervous; because it was obvious that John had not reviewed the file, so I scheduled a meeting with him to review everything that we had worked out with Chrissy. John had also told us, that the exact number of guests could be counted the day of for fair pricing. After the meeting I was once again comforted, and thought it would be in good hands with John. 3rd My mother gets a call from KRISTY the GM, stating that she was now handling the event coordination. In fact, when she called she asked for my wife. (Why would my wife throw herself a shower?) It was at this point that KRISTY told my mom that many of the things that were promised to us were not something they normally do. (Flowers on the table, Buntinis delivered, early access for set-up, wine to offset guest that we had overpaid for) KRISTY acted as if she was doing us a favor, by carrying out the items that the former coordinator had promised us IN WRITING. KRISTY insisted we pay in advance, even though Chrissy had told us to pay the day of. When my mom discussed small touches like flowers on the table, and delivery of the desserts, and the complimentary wine to offset overpayment, KRISTY basically called my mom a liar and stated, “We would have never promised to do that”! It was at this point that I decided to work with KRISTY rather than have her insult my mother. She promised that a DVD player would be available the day of the event for the slideshow presentation. (This didn’t happen) One of my wife’s guests drove home to get one. (During the party) Emails to KRISTY regarding this have subsequently gone unreturned. In my discussions with KRISTY I was upfront in telling her that many of the expectations that her staff had set were not being met. KRISTY argued and that many of the things we claimed were promised were essentially lies. KRISTY offered to call Chrissy (the previous event coordinator). I knew this was an idle threat, but I thought it might solve some of the disputes, so I called her bluff. I agreed completely and offered to host a conference call to which she decided that since it was a weekend she would send her and email instead. (BIG FAT LIE) As for the event, it went well. The food was good. The staff, especially Raymond, was excellent. That’s why they are deserving of One Star.

The course itself is beautiful. Green is very fast and challenging but fair. The course is not beginners friendly but as long as you have a decent command of the game you will have fun. I played around 15hdcp and shot 24 but enjoyed the course very much. Lost 3 balls to OB but it is kinda expected. Unless you are a single hdcp, bring plenty of balls. Some fairway bunkers were to be considered as waste areas more than proper bunkers, this explains the bad reviews of a course in poor condition (it is not). Fairway is green, rough is properly cut, green is true and fast... what else do you expect? I had to take 2 stars off, 1 because my experience was terrible due to a "strange" putter from the rental set. The putter is definitely not true. It wont aligned properly and on short putts it will drive you nutts. On such a hard course getting gir close to the holes should be rewarded but I had 4 short birdie putts turned to bogeys because of the failed putter. The other 5-6 birdie putts were far from the hole so I blamed those on my putting skills. Another star off because the cost of rental clubs were $45, quite pricey yet they didnt have stiff shafts for me eventhough I emailed the course in advance when I booked online. The set didnt have proper wedges, the clubs were really old... for comparison I paid $35 for rental clubs and got titleist 917 driver and AP2 irons (all Stiff too) with vokey wedges at another course of similar quality. No refund on club rentals eventhough the man behind the counter tested the putter after I returned them and concured with my complaint. The golf carts do not have GPS so make sure you play with a local golfer or bring your range finder. To recap. Beautiful course. Great quality golf can be had with amazing views. Challenging undulating fairways with undulating and tiered fast greens. Would not recommend for complete beginners. If youre a visitors to SJ without your equipments please look elsewhere.

This was for my friends wedding... This venue was beautiful. Trees, flowers, and green grass everywhere you look, including a view of the mountains and a beautiful and spectacular view. The tent, tables, and white chairs for the reception were in great condition and didnt need any additional decor. The ceremony/reception areas were all very clean and well manicured. The food was good and maybe an assistant would be something that would be helpful. Hope,I will come here for my wedding ceremony

Best kept secret in San Jose! Beautiful golf course. Great views and awesome tee shots! I played the muni (big mistake!) and I will never play there again with this course 10 minutes further. The price is not bad ($80) for such a great course. Very well maintained and the people that work there are wonderful! I cant wait to play this course again!

The course is insanely tough for amateurs, my friends lost a minimum of one ball per hole haha. The course was very beautiful but its strange how the course is well manicured but the bunkers have weeds growing in every one. If they took care of the bunkers it would make this course one of the nicest around.

The challenge of this course and the movement of the greens and the fairways along with the length of this course makes this a great course. Its fun to hit over the gorges and water. Theyve let it go a little bit since they had the problems last year, there is a lot of land to keep up.

Hubsy took me and the children to a mothers day brunch buffet. I liked the shrimp cocktail, sushi and carving station. The oysters had sand in it and wasnt prepped well. Staff were friendly. We sat outside and enjoyed the view.

The front nine is one of three more challenging Ive ever played, but the back is more forgiving. Not a place for beginners, buy I love the unique layout with many fun downhill holes and no boring ones.

Very challenging course but lots of fun and very beautiful. Just consider bringing a few extra balls for this one!
