I live nearby Irvine Park and go there no less than 3 times a week. My son loves to go to the Zoo and ride the horses. We have always had good experiences there until today. Today, I had a very bad experience, and I have a few suggestions. First, the no parking signage near the rear of the Irvine Railroad parking lot is difficult to see. The sign is about 50 feet away from the end. When one arrives from the one of the entries, they dont have the opportunity to drive past and see the signs. It is also placed very low, and unfortunately party vendors and your own employees block the signs. Moving or adding signs to the ends of the parking lot and raising them up higher than the cars, would help solve this issue. Secondly, not seeing the sign, I parked near the restrooms today. I returned to get something out of my car, and I was told by a woman with long blonde hair to move and that I was not abiding by the signs. I looked around for a sign and I still didnt see one. However, I was going to move my car regardless. As I paused to look around for the sign I missed, the parking attendant said, "well,l I can just give you a ticket and tow you". I began to explain that she misunderstood and I was about to move my car, but she interrupted me again and said okay Ill just give you a ticket and tow you. I again, tried to assure her I was moving my car and just needed to take a moment to load my 2 year old and his tricycle back into the car. She interrupted again and said I was trying to help you, but Ill just give you a ticket. She went on to tell me I was angry about her asking me to move my car which I was not at all (I guess i need botox). Then, she told me to give my 2 year old to her so I could move my car more quickly Im obviously not going to give my toddler to a stranger let alone someone who is treating us badly. I loaded up my child, his bike to move my car and her vehicle was blocking the driving area along with another large black truck that was parked illegally. So, I just parked in the spot behind me which was legal. She sarcastically said - oh just block the traffic (she was the only traffic). Then she pulled out some cones and said she was just going to block off the road from my direction. Then. she walked past me an my 2 year old and said Thank you while rolling her eyes. Then she started to ask me about all the other cars - "whose car is this?" as if it was my duty to know all the random strangers at the park. I know they get a lot of parties, but I was alone. I am sure parking attendants at this park have to deal with many people who dont want to listen, follow rules and and act disrespectfully, I am NOT one of these people. I am sorry that my son had to endure this type of interaction on nice Sunday at the park. My suggestion is that you please train your team that before interrupting and assuming someone is being combative, consider taking a moment to listen. This women was creating an argument where one didnt exist. If she isnt thankful, dont chase down a two year old and his mom and roll your eyes at them. Youre setting a bad example and creating a bad experience for all of children watching you. This interaction was outlandish and surprising. I am fuming about it. I have a season pass, and now I dont even want to go there and see this person. I think it was scary for my child to see someone yelling at his Mother. If this person receives additional complaints, please believe them. She is very emotional and reads others emotions incorrectly. She then act outs out on her imagined scenarios.

Irvine Regional Park is located in City of Orange. Park enterance fee is $3.00 for week day and $5.00 for weekend per car. Park is very broad, so you need to move by your car. There is Orange County Zoo inside of the park. Enterance fee for zoo is $2.00 per person. It is small zoo but you can see the anmals very closely. When you enter the zoo, sometimes you can see zoo keeper, she bring baby hedgehog, baby boa etc. You can touch and take a picture of those animals. Byby hedgehog was really cute. Also, there is vending machines for feed for $0.25, so you can directly give feed to goats and some other animlas. Goats are very quick to eat feed. You can borrow bike to ride in the part with families. Also, you can borrow padding boat to ride in the lake. (padding boat is $15.00 per 30min.) Picnic areas are huge, so nobody will disrupt you. You can cook barbeque with grills. There are some trail for hiking, so you can hike around the park. Weather was really good when I was there and I took some very clear pictures. It is really good place for family picnic. I recommend to go this park with your families and friends.

The main park has lots of open space (grass), picnic areas, playgrounds, and walking and bike paths. The zoo is small but has lots of animals and a decent amount of shade as you walk. Thr train takes you through the grounds and whole mainly targeted at children, getting to see the vastness of the grounds is pretty nice. The best part of this place, though, are the trails surrounding the main park. My family and I bike the flat parts together, and then get off our bikes to hike or climb up some of the hills. The hiking trails in Irvine Regional, and the adjacent Santiago Oaks Park, are just fantastic, and I run there frequently. My husband bikes there as well. Parking on weekends starts to get crowded around lunchtime, so get there on the early side if you want ensure you can park in a particular lot. When you go early, theres tons. $3 on weekdays, or $5 on weekends, or you can get an annual pass for all OC Parks for $55 if you think you will go frequently.

The kids always like the train ride here. Weve been through the zoo too. Its super cheap but you can go through it in about 15 minutes. You have to pay to get into the park but parking anywhere beyond that is free. Weve been to the Easter event, Halloween pumpkin patch, and just for fun. The hayride kids like but its nothing too different than the train ride. Its a good thing to mix things up with when they are running it in the fall. You have to buy tickets for practically everything (train, hayride, bounce houses, cookie decorating, pony rides...). Luckily its free to take pictures at all the wooden cutouts, to go through the corn maze, or participate in the egg hunt. Pumpkins are very high priced, just to be warned. Schools do go to the events too so just do the activities that they arent doing and then swap so its not as busy.

One of my favorite places to take our family. We have an annual pass for OC Parks and its worth it! We usually find ourselves visiting in the early mornings on a weekend. Ive noticed on our drive out the line gets long to drive into the park. My suggestion would be to get there early to beat the crowd. Im not certain what the traffic is like during the weekdays. The train ride and OC Zoo are some of our family favorites and do not cost much. There is so much to do. Im looking forward to more visits to see more of what this place has to offer. The only downfall, as with most parks, is the bathrooms! Bring soap and hand sanitizer with you and maybe even bring your own toilet paper.
