Recently attended the Irvine Park Railroad for the Pumpkin Patch - very well laid out with an incredible amount of options beyond a typical Pumpkin Patch. My daughters (3 1/2 and 18 months) loved the pony rides - very cool that they have two different options for different aged kids (ponies that walk and ponies that trot). The Pumpkin Patch had everything from pumpkins to face painting to hayrides. A ton of fun! Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly at all the vendors, and lines moved quickly due to the organized structure (almost all elements you can engage with are timed). The railroad is very fun, a good amount of time that takes you through the park. As part of the year road park, they also have paddle boat rides, the OC Zoo, and other great options. Its easy to make this a comfortable day trip if youre coming from far away. One thing to note is that there is great shade at this location, unlike many other Pumpkin Patches that are set up in parking lots or other non-specific areas. Pro tip - if you can, try to get the rumble seats on the train, theyre awesome!

Very fun for kids, all ages, and just a pleasant place to spend a Saturday. But be aware that it can be excessively busy during peak weekends. We went close to Halloween and it took forever to even get into the park and then to find a parking space. But weve also visited on calmer weekends and theres been no wait driving in and no trouble finding great parking. The Railroad specifically is a small-scale train 15 minute ride through the park, and its interesting to hear what the driver points out throughout the tour. Weve also rented surreys here, and had a great time! They offer helmets free with rentals, and while the little kids helmets dont fit perfectly, its great to have the option if you forget to bring your childs own helmet for the rentals. The zoo is small but charming. What we havent tried, but Im looking forward to, are the pony rides next to the railroad depot for little ones, and, sometime, horseback rides available on the other side of the park, because they have some great horse-riding trails throughout the park.

I absolutely enjoy bringing my son here to satisfy his love for trains. The Irvine Park Railway is well maintained. The price for a ticket will cost you $3 a person. The conductors are very knowledgeable about the rich history of the park which is shared with passengers throughout various parts of the train ride. I also had a birthday party once for my daughter here and the staff were very polite and very accommodating. They are very well organized and worth the time and money spent. A great attraction both on and off season. It is also a great experience during the holidays. Prices are usually about the same and online coupons are often available. It doesnt get over crowded and intervals between train rides are as expected. I definetly recommend it. A+

This 15 minute train ride through the historic park is awesome! Great for kids of any age! My 8 month old twins LOVED it! The conductor points out historic parts of the park and spouts out interesting facts with a sense of humor! Weekdays are best if you want to avoid crowds! Super cheap too! It was only $2 when we went yesterday because they were celebrating their anniversary so not sure what price is regularly but Im sure its $5 or less

Always A LOT of fun when my family and I go to the Irvine Regional Park for Halloween. Weve somewhat made it a family tradition to go every year, and have been going for the past 3 years now. We went once for the Christmas season, but want as enjoyable. Definitely go for Halloween... See you next year IRP (Irvine Regional Park)

Clean and beautiful park! My toddlers love the choo choo train! It goes a pretty good distance around the park! We also rented the double surrey bike and had lots of fun seeing all the peacocks and horses! Clean, stroller accessible, great place for a picinic or BBQ with friends!

My daughter loves coming here for Halloween to look at all the pumpkins and for Christmas with Santa. The horse riding is her favorite. It gets really busy so be prepared to wait to get in the park.

This park is beautiful. There are peacocks, birds, and squirrels around. The only thing that was uncomfortable was that not all bathrooms have baby changing facilities.

I ordered some chicken nuggets for $2.75. I got 3 little nuggets. What a rip off. The cola was watered down too. The hayride was a complete bore and very uncomfortable.
