Wouldnt recommend this shop at all. Used to love going here but the owner is just not professional anymore. Every single time I would go in I would make at least one purchase cause obviously Im going into his shop cause I need something. But after about a year of going here he kinda started cutting us off in a very rude and un professional manner. Like a younger good looking female would come in and she would get his full attention even tho they are just there to look at fish and not purchase anything as most of them clearly state when they walk in "we dont have a fish tank but love looking at fish" so we stay there waiting for like 30 minutes to get no help. After this happened about 6 times. I just said hech with this place and now drive all the way to salinas "PET FUN" much better prices and selection anyways.

I couldnt say a bad thing about this place! It is truly the best aquarium store on the peninsula. Larry has such a wealth of knowledge that he gladly shares with anyone who comes in the door and if he doesnt know the answer to a question, he knows someone who will! I am so happy to have found a store with that small town feel but big city options. He has such a great selection and wide variety of fish that come through his store (some that Ive never even heard of before), yet he treats every client like an old friend. Best of both worlds! If youre in the market for some great additions to your current aquarium or are looking to start something new, this is the best place to go!

I went in with my wife and we had just cracked our Fish Tank and Larry spend an hour with us helping us find the right Tank and we ended up buying a 110 Gallon Tank. And then we came back a month later and I decided I wanted to make my Tank a cichlid Tank and I didnt know what kind I wanted and he showed me all the Fish that he knew would work well together and he knew everything there was to know and even showed me pictures of what they would look like full grown I would recommend this place over any place in Monterey County he wont sale you something just to make money and what he wouldnt put in his own Tank great job Larry

After seeing all the positive reviews, I decided to check it out. I thought the store was cool as soon as we walked through the doors, then I met Larry. Hes not only friendly, very knowledgeable, but also really reassuring. This will be our go-to as we get started with our new aquarium. Edited to add, that at no time did we ever feel pressured to buy anything, and Larry actually recommended we not make the purchase we went there to make, until our set up is ready. Hes not just there to sell fish, hes there because he clearly loves what he does, and wants to help others succeed and enjoy their aquariums as much as he does.

The ultimate aquarium always gives me quality hearty fish that live for a very long time. Best fish resource in the area. The difference between this store and its local "competitors" is a bit like the difference between grass fed free range organic prime rib and McDonalds hamburger meat. If you own a tank and go somewhere else locally, feel ashamed.
