Where do I even begin? I wonder what kind of person the owner is. Sound is a perfect balance of underground and mainstream. It has a low-profile front in an alley off Hollywood Blvd, which probably only fans and wanderers could find. But visitors and people unfamiliar with house and techno wouldnt find the place too cold and intimidating. And underground music fans wouldnt find it commercial. The dance floor to table ratio is 9:1. The interior design is not pretentious, and so are the people. In my visit, the staff were very courteous, a level of manner you cant expect from a club in such a commercial and touristy area. The drinks are fairly priced, and they use good liquor. I went on St. Pattys Day, but there was not one drunk annoying group wearing green costumes. People gave each other a bit of space to dance. I didnt see any sloppy couple grinding on each others genitals. AND then the music... Kölsch was playing all night that day, and I wonder again, the owner must have pretty good relationships with the underground artists. You know you can spend the night here if artists like Richie Hawtin, Ean Golden, Hot Since 82 are frequents and you are looking for good tunes. Thank you Sound Nightclub. You made my night.

My First time experience here last weekend. After many years of hearing great things by fellow Klubbers, House Heads, Music Lovers, Enthusiastic Music souls driven & inspired by the SOUND and Atmosphere of the nightclub life and lastly my brother/best friend DJ CHAOS also apart of a DJ duo by the name KINGPINS who DJs all over LA- OC- IE areas and others to name a few. SOUND was everything and more! Im beyond impressed basically speechless! The Atmosphere the set up the lighting well organized and elegant and welcoming. The Promotor, front staff, Music, bartenders, security, all the DJs basically the whole staff was on their A game and mega friendly, very rarely do you come across that in the LA/HOLLYWOOD club life scene these days. SOUND is one of those hidden gems in the club scene people. Im happy I finally got to experience SOUND NIGHTCLUB! I Cant wait to go again and again lol. I can say I found my SOUND at SOUND NIGHTCLUB! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this CLUB FOR THOSE HOUSE MUSIC LOVERS! Also THANK YOU SOUND FOR UNFORGETTABLE NIGHT AND SEE YOU SOON!

If you love nightlife and really enjoy sound systems, this place is so loud it will vibrate every single hair on your body. I went here with a group of friends to see Lee Burridge a few months ago. Needless to say, Lee was fantastic, and the sound system was rocking the entire venue! We partied really hard and drank ourselves silly that night. The staff is generally really nice, and security definitely does its job when it comes to keeping everyone safe. The bartenders are quick to get your drink ready as well. If youre heading out here for the night and are sensitive to sound, Id suggest you bring earplugs. It gets really loud in there. If you arent used to nightclubs, then you may want to stay away. Audiophiles and sound junkies, step right up!

This by far is the best Nightclub in LA, if your looking for a true underground Vibe / atmosphere. The music is great and works great in this club. I would suggest to go on a Monday, if your into deep house / tech house. For a Monday this place was insanely packed, and the music was something else. MONDAY SOCIAL is on point with the events they throw here. SOUND definitely gives a whole different meaning to music here in LA. I would highly suggest this place if your looking for something out of the ordinary. Great scene, the music thrives here, and speaks for Itself. If your ever in LA, I highly recommend to check out Sound on a Monday.

This place is alright. On Saturday April 23rd we went to check out Marco Carola, but there was this really weird red-haired dude outside with a funny hat on. He made a couple lady friends uncomfortable so they decided to leave. Then after we walked the ladies back to their car, we went back and this guy tried to over-charge us, then when I tried to talk to him he just ignored me, pushing buttons on his little cell phone until I called him out...then he went on to insult us. Who is this guy? A promoter? haha he sexually harasses women at the door then is rude to other people looking to go in. Thats a weird little red headed mannnnnn....

My boyfriend and I went there our last night in California. We stood in line waiting for the guy to check out I.Ds. Then out of nowhere 4 chicks and a guy cut us and he let them in and told us the club is now full. But yet he allowed 4 more people to enter the club after he said its full. My boyfriend even mentioned that weve been in line before those chicks but all the guy said was "oh sorry about that but theyre here with the owner." Which is completely bogus because he checked their passports and all. So if youre not a skinny hot girl or a guy who looks like a douche; youre most likely not getting in.

Drove from Vegas for the weekend music was good, customer service not so much no type of hospitality, bartender by the entrance would force you to get 2 drinks at a time while the other bartender by the restrooms didnt have a problem selling me a single drink , restroom attendant would give attitude if you didnt tip every time you used the restroom to the point where I basically had to pay for paper towels to dry my hands but hey tip the guy $20 and hell let you and your crew do some blow without snitching lol this was my second time at this place and I highly doubt I would be going back .

Expect to leave here with your ears ringing and people looking at you funny because youre yelling and dont even know it. Interior has a few disco balls, a disco shark (my favorite psrt), one wall has LEDs with a rain like affect. The bar in the back by the bathrooms (ladies only 2 stalls) had a dressed up Batman and Elmo. The sound system briefly stopped working at one point but they were quick to address the problem. One drunk guy fell on some friends and the bouncers were on top of it. Had a wonderful time minus that! Definitely want to go back! Excellent DJ!

Its a typical Hollywood club. Expensive drinks ($13 for a single shot Jack and Coke) and OK staff (nice bartenders, so-so door) with moderate to heavy crowds. Its probably fine if youre a VIP or pay for bottle service but otherwise its a little pretentious (e.g. getting inside was a bit of a mess). But its Hollywood so if you like that scene its neither bad nor good. The sound and lighting systems are good - definitely made the DJ I went to see stand out. The decor isnt terrible - but as others have noted theres no place to sit unless youre paying extra.

So not worth buying the ticket. My friends and I had a better time across the street in an Irish pub. The bartenders are completely unprofessional and choose to be flashy skanks rather than serve their customers. Their managers are way nicer and deserve my tip much more. They should seriously restaff. And the music selection was nothing special. Probably the WORST club I have ever been to. Next time dont be rude to your paying customers.
