Co-organized by the J. Paul Getty Museum and the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa, Bernini and the Birth of Baroque Portrait Sculpture is the first major exhibition of Berninis work in North America and the first ever comprehensive exhibition of the artists portrait busts. On view at the J. Paul Getty Museum at the Getty Center, August 5 through October 26, 2008, the special exhibition will also include Berninis portrait drawings, as well as portrait busts by other important sculptors in 17th-century Rome such as Francesco Mochi, François Duquesnoy, Giuliano Finelli, and Alessandro Algardi. Following its showing at the Getty, the exhibition will travel to the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa, where it will be on view from November 28, 2008 through March 8, 2009.

If you enjoy looking at artwork, set aside a whole day for this place! It is mind-blowing how many paintings, sculptures, artifacts, sketches...you get the idea...there are here - and thats just the collections displayed indoors! There are incredible gardens and fountains outside...the architecture itself is a work of art...and the absolute best part: the view from up there! WOW! Schedule your time so that you can catch the sunset. I have no words to say more...its just that good.

Car Parade: Parking and Sinage Night Mare One of the best places we thgought for Mothers Day. Lot Full sight not in clear view. Staff routes cars through Parking structure and back out on to Sepulvada. With no options, or care about the lost 30 min roundabout ride. MOVE THE LOT FULL SIGN TO SEPULVADA, The guest can see it and then decide if they want to seek alternate Parking. Bad Planning, Bad event management. NO one is thinking or planning.

Absolutely to visit. The collections are not the best ever, especially for those used to the European or east cost museums, but they are interesting. The Italian paintings from 1300 and 1400 are unbelievable. The museum is fantastic from an architectural point of view and the view of Los Angeles is stunning. The visit is free, but you need to pay the parking, 15 $.

Amazing place, MUST visit! Impressive collection of historic art. Works from Cézanne, Monet, Van Goh, Renoir, Manet, Giacometti etc are displayed. Definitely an architectural highlight in L.A. Nice park, good access through tram from underground parking lot. Restaurants, audio guides, info center, all you need is there! Great tourist attraction!!

-1 star because I got chigger bites (mites) from my visit here. :( Next time I go, Im going to wear long pants. Otherwise its lovely and the restaurant is charming. Just a note, if you bring your own cake to the restaurant, they charge you $4 per head. They also dont allow you to bring wrapped gifts into the restaurant.

Loved this museum such a fun and educational place so many things to see. But I do recommend going early well at least when they open if you want see most of everything, also they let you bring your own food which is awesome. They sell food as well but if you want to save some cash bring your snacks.

Love art...youll probably for at least one exhibit or department that will trigger you happily. Love architecture...this place is arguably fantastic for the views and stone alone. Want to catch your breath and chill with a friend over lunch...go here. Angelinos are lucky to have this place.

One of the best art museums and pieces of architecture Ive ever visited. I thoroughly recommend - do not miss it out if you are visiting. There is no entry fee bar the parking price and its a great spot for lunch. Excellent views and I do recommend the tours - they are knowledgable and fun!

the architecture and cafe are wonderful. Great place for an afternoon lunch with some girlfriends. the art exhibits are okay - nothing spectacular. they have my favorite Monet and a few nice Van Goghs but other than that... sort of disappointing.

Hmm... it is "free" to get in, but they charge you $15 for parking, $10 after 3PM - noting they close at 5PM. I can only give you advice on being part of the "after 3PM crowd", as we arrived at 4PM
