Coachella was never on my to-go-list. Didnt really care to go until my friend sold me his week1 ticket 1-2 weeks before the event for early bird face value. I thought it was a good deal plus my bf was planning on going. Definately an experience to remember with no regrets at all! Great people, art everywhere, live bands/djs everywhere, light shows, etc. Unfortunately I didnt get the full-on Coachella experience because I stayed in a hotel (next year)! The sandstorm on day3 was uncomfortable but that didnt stop me from enjoying Chili Peppers. My highlight of week 1: Puscifer ( I love his voice! Saw Tool and APC live but never Puscifer) How to Destroy Angels (best show of day 1!!!! Trent Reznor and his wife was amazing and the stage performance was unique) Major Lazer Moby Yeah Yeah Yeahs Blur Phoenix R. Kelly (def a random wtf moment to laugh about) Red Hot Chili Peppers (always wanted to see them live!) Drop Kick Murphy etc I personally didnt make EDM a priority and tried to enjoy the other bands I dont get to see that often. IMO you could see some of those djs at raves/avalon/exla/sutra/etc. freebies: - electrig cigs in a tent when you enter beer garden near ferris wheel - popsicles free all day in a tent near the kroq tent - sunscreen and coachella schedule booklet at kroq tent - nail stickers, gif photobooth, water, dry shampoo/sun screen/lotion/charging station: H&M tent between sahara and mojave havent been but i wish i had: - speakeasy red bull bar between main and outdoor stage - campground has silent disco at 9pm all 3 days in that white balloon dome - playstaion tent (not sure whats going on in there) Locker is recommended cuz it gets cold at night: - shoes, jacket, pants...or leave them in the car and walk back for them - sand storm came, glad i had my glasses. Wish i had a handkerchief for my mouth/nose note: if the bracelet is damaged (cut off, glued, stapled) theyll automatically take it away and u wont get to go to coachella. merchandise: day 3 was super crowded...heard the good stuff runs out by day 3

I was really skeptical that I would enjoy this. I love music, parties, fashion and almost everything in california, but I hate long lines, being crowded or bumped into, public bathrooms and extreme heat. I went with VIP and had the best time ever! Getting into the area was about a half hour drive from Palm Springs (where we stayed). Go earlier than you think! There are line ups to get into the lot, and line ups to get into the festival. Tons of security check points. By the time we got in on the first day, we missed a few artists we wanted to see. The music was so good. Even if I didnt know the artist or was into that genre of music, I still loved it. Not sure if my friend felt the same way when she had to check out the shows I wanted to see but I personally loved it. I just wish there was a VIP section closer to the main stage but it wasnt the end of the world. Food was obviously a hit and miss (mostly hit). They had some healthy options available but Id still like to see a few more for those with dietary restrictions and allergies etc. Juices were really tasty. Alcohol was expensive (as expected) but also tasted like water (disappointed). Everyone is having fun and super friendly. Sometimes a little too friendly but it was a really safe environment to meet people in. The restroom situation was... okay. When I got over the fact that I wouldnt be able to avoid a porter potty like bathroom it was alright. Try to head to the rose garden where the porcelain toilets are found, if you can. Much nicer but they have longer lines. You must be VIP for this as well. I think what surprised me the most is how much I love being in the desert. There was something so serene and beautiful about it. A definite contrast to being in the city all the time. I love it. I miss it. I would go again and recommend checking it out to everyone who asks.

We had a great time! We took our 1.5 year old. If you plan for it, taking small kids is not a problem. If taking a small child there are a few things you should keep in mind. First, and most important, realize that this trip is not about you, its about your child. Plan on and be ready to do what is best for them not you. That means, little to no drinking alcohol and no drugs. Remember, youre a parent now, act like one. Second, youll need real sleeping accommodations, dont try to camp. Its crazy hot and youll need somewhere for your little one to escape and get some good rest. We stayed about 20 minutes away at a condominium complex that had a swimming pool. We spent some time in that pool escaping the heat and just having fun. Third, if you love certain bands and must see them, leave your child at home and take the weekend to yourself. Youll need to stay away from the more crowded craziness. You dont want to be where your kid will get smashed. We spent most of our time out by the main stage. There is lots of grass space to play and you can get far enough from the speakers that you dont have to force your kid to wear earmuffs the whole time. Youll also need to plan on leaving at a decent time, 9 or 10ish. Most little ones wont be happy much later than that. Fourth, have fun and enjoy the music. To be honest I was a little hesitant to take our son, but I can honestly say that the experience was awesome. Most people were excited to see a toddler and wanted to give him high 5s, take pictures, share toys (glow sticks), dance with him and sincerely enjoyed seeing a little kid having a good time. We did hear a few "what is a kid doing here" comments. But again, if you plan right, a music festival can be a great experience for you and your little ones.

Ive been to several music festivals, but I wouldnt willingly choose to attend Coachella again. The festival is ran pretty tight, which is good for logistic purposes, but it definitely has a money hungry vibe. The two times Ive attended were because I was given free tickets and after both experiences I would never shovel out the insane amount of money for tickets. Campsites are fairly small, food/ice is very pricey, and given the intense heat in this area of the country, there should be WAY more water refill stations. On the plus side, the portapotties at the campgrounds arent as bad as some of the other festivals Ive been at; though theyve had issues with crime, I felt really safe during my time there; and the fest grounds are spaced out so that I never felt claustrophobic (but I didnt try to push my way into shows). The worst part about this festival is the dust/pollen. Both times Ive attended I got very sick and had a hard time enjoying it. Know this going in and be prepared to wear a bandana over your mouth and nose, even in the 100+ temps. I gave 3 stars to this festival because overall they do a great job putting it on. The rules are a bit strict, but its all in the safety of their patrons. I cant even begin to imagine what it takes to put on an event like this, so I applaud their efforts!

Two weekends in a row I tried to see the GNR live stream and all it was 2 songs each time. Im sure its a licensing thing but dont tell me that GNR is going on at 12:40 AM PDT or 12:30 AM when they actually went on around 10:30 or so. I wasted two Saturday nights staying up until 4 AM, as I am EST, for nothing. Why show an entire Ice Cube set in real time that 14 people care about, wow Dr. Dre was onstage...for a minute, then do basically nothing for GNR? Again, licensing Im sure but that was total BS on the part of the promoters, ruined two weekends in a row. I thought I might have screwed up the first time but apparently I did not. Now I see why everyone associates Cochella with pretentiousness, even the promoters purposefully lied about a GNR live stream twice. Im sorry but that is unacceptable, at least tell those remote viewers that the GNR stream was not going to be a full set. They are somewhat known for going on late so after midnight local time seamed perfectly reasonable, especially due to the leg issue, impact on sound checks, etc. I had a full set-up, 2 screens going, and was all pumped up...then nothing for hours until a "GNR will be on around 12:30 AM" update only to find out it was once again 2 songs. So poorly handled, so poor...
