This is a lovely park, beautiful to visit and to live near. The Orange County Flood Control wants to pave over a large section that is currently a grassy field, and cover over one of the lakes entirely to build two large soccer fields where games would be held every weekend, causing noise, trash and nuisance for residents and visitors. They also want to install a large polluting pump house in the southwest corner of the lake that would be the equivalent of 13 cars running at 30 horsepower (a typical smog test) with ONE engine...and the plan is to put in THREE. Can you imagine 39 cars parked just behind your backyard, running that much pollution into the air? Horrible. The park, as it stands now is a beautifully tranquil, wonderful place to walk and run and enjoy the ambiance of ducks and trees and picnic! Please, search "stop the haster basin plan" and join our community in trying to preserve this beautiful, idyllic place.

Many people use this park every day but now the city wants to pave it and put in soccer fields and parking lots. Wasting vital tax dollars when this park aint broke in the first place! This isnt right. Please speak up and contact everyone you can. The city officials should know they cant ruin this park. The media needs to know how wonderful and quaint this place is with the ducks and wildlife. Its a santuary, an oasis in an urban wasteland with NO other parks like it around. When its gone its gone. SPEAK UP!

Very nice area for exercising outdoors, having a picnic, or a birthday party. In the early morning hours, there are homeless people who sleep in the park near the restrooms. Ive heard that the restrooms arent very clean, but honestly I havent checked them out. Theres not a whole lot to be expected from public restrooms in parks.

Recently improved with all new landscaping. A large grass area has plenty of room for soccer and other sports. A new picnic area with bar-b-ques for outdoor grilling. Families can enjoy a nice walk around the new lake. With all the new improvements, Hester Basin is a nice place a walk or for your outdoor exercise needs.

Came here to relax on my lunch break and four paranoid looking druggies were smoking something out of a glass tube... And a homeless looking dude was sleeping on the bench next to them with his shopping cart nearby... What a ghetto place this is. The police should visit here to clear out this garbage.

I love coming here for walks and jogs. Theres a lake so it makes for nice little nature walks. Occasionally youll see geese with their little babies. They are cute but the parents are very protective.

Very nice park. Excellent soccer field. Has a walking/bike trail around the field and water basin. There are also exercise stations along the path. It is pretty well lit along the paths at night.

Somethinf bied ans nature watchers need, besides there are enough parking lots just to many incompitent drivers more liability to city than anything else putting parking lot soccer fields.
