Finding lively Genius Loci at Laguna Lake Park In my humble opinion, all I see is improving at Laguna Lake. Rocked this place with Mr. Owl. Together we enjoyed hiking the east side of the park (by Equestrian Center) and happened upon historic trees, mountain bikers and low-water landscaped areas. Parking is on both east and west sides of the lake. Spectacular Jacaranda trees, 100+year old Eucalyptus and waterfowl make for a memorable ambulatory footslog on a shock absorbing dirt trail. Fishing is allowed here with a permit. Restrooms could use updating, as they have no working electricity---how efficient---and are original architecture from its 1963 opening. This lake is surrounded on all sides by sprawling half-acre estates. Recent lake renovation added large boulders, wood bridges, flowing water and photo worthy hillside landscaping. Locals, city neighbors and I cherish Laguna Lake. Mr. Owl (being opportunistic) hung upside down from some of the trees (see photos). During the hike back Mr. Owl expressed resentment at being put in my left pocket for safety concerns. Sunset at the lake is romantic largely attributed to melodic flowing water sounds while you stroll and hear songbirds above singing, cacophony of joggers shuffling and the stillness overcoming all on its shores.

Its a nice place for a walk.The path has a slight downslope to the side. Lots of benches if someone needs to sit for a moment. The path circles the lake and goes back to a good-sized parking lot. There are also picnic benches.Fishing is allowed; if over 16 years of age, a valid fishing license is required. The paths are also used by joggers and bicyclists. It would help if people would announce themselves as they approach from behind. I stepped slightly sideways just as a bicycle entered the same space, and he practically grazed my arm.

Laguna Park is probably one of the most peaceful places here in Fullerton although that depends on the person of course. I come here every so often to walk my husky or to just take a walk around the giant lake and sit down and enjoy the nature around me. The only reason why I rate this place 4 stars instead of 5 like it should have is because the lake could really use cleaning up. The community needs to start taking better care of it first of all and the city should take responsibility and clean it up every once in a while.

This park contains a man-made lake, picnic tables, and trails. I love to run the around the lake and on the trails that join up with the park. You will frequently see people walking with/without dogs, running, bicycling, and horseback riding. Fishing is also allowed in the lake as there are several different species of fish. Less common birds can also be found around the lake.

I had to start walking and my adult son suggested the lake. Its been 8 years now and I love to hike all the trails. I share them with my friends too.The Sierra Club meets Tuesdays and we have trail leaders who show us all the sites! My husband loves to fish while I loop around the lake and they have a fishing derby for the kids every year! Nature at its BEST!

I often run through Fullertons different hiking/running trails and Laguna Lake is a good in-between area between trails. People fish, families picnic, but mostly people are walking/jogging around it for exercise.

Been going to this lake since I was 14. Very nice lake, fishing isnt bad, stocked with bass, trout, and perch. Grandchildren love it, as do I!
