As I have found with ALL of my LFS, this is a store that comes and goes as far as quality and/or variety of stock. Sometimes its good and sometimes its fairly poor. Again, this is with every LFS I have visited. So to say this one is particularly worse is unfair. Additionally, I have found the help genial and fairly knowledgeable. But, ultimately, it is up to you to gain the knowledge necessary for successful fishkeeping without assuming your LFS is the local God of everything fish. To blame them for an unseen disease is inappropriate. I have seen display tanks in this store quarantined when there is visual evidence of disease and you cant expect them to do more than this. As such, with regard to the comment about sickly fish killing off your entire tank, this is what home quarantine is for. You NEVER EVER put a fish straight from the store into your tank.

I bought a fish tank for my brothers birthday on 03/08/15. Not going to focus on customer service as it was pretty much non existent. Id rather focus on my 4 days of experience having the tank and fish in my house. We spent $110.00 buying a tank with 7 fish - this was Sunday, March 8th, 2015. Im writing this review on Thursday, March 12th, just a few days later.... The light in the fish tank did not work from Day 1 and whats worse, a fish has been dying each day. We have followed feeding instructions, water instructions, you name it...Im so sad to wake up and see the little guys dead every single morning. Ive tried reaching the place by phone a few times already and left a voicemail - no return of my calls. Please advise what to do. This has been an awful and very sad experience.

I just moved to California and was looking for a place that sold saltwater fish (I had to leave my setup and my fish back home in New York with my sister). The Aquarium is in my neighborhood so I thought Id check it out. Their selection was okay, but I wasnt particularly impressed. I had a question about aeration equipment, so I asked one of the employees, but I wasnt given a clear answer. My thing is, if you dont know the answer, thats cool, but dont try to play it off like you know when really youre just feeding me a bunch of crap that I couldve read off the box myself. Hopefully I can find somewhere not too far from Culver City that has a better selection of fish and more knowledgeable employees (or at least ones who are honest about their level of knowledge).

The service here is not very friendly or welcoming. I had purchased two Koi fish here several months ago. I brought them back to the store (about 400% larger then when I bought them, which should make them more valuable) because they outgrew my tank, and were harassing my other fish. The clerk in the store didnt even offer to trade me for other smaller fish, he just took the two large koi to dump them in a tank. Not even a "thank you". I ended up buying two new small fish, and paid full price for them, but I think Ill look for a new place to get my tropical fish & supplies. Someplace where customers are valued.

Nice new remodel they did, very clean on the saltwater side the freshwater side is decent not as many selections as the saltwater side but still clean. Great staff and honest not trying to make a quick buck. Id talk to angel of craig really helpful guys. Only thing that gets me is their prices. somethings would be a lot more expensive then other places or somethings a lot cheaper then other places. really wish I could give it a 4.5. Great place for to buy selective fish and other aquarium supplies.

Had water from three aquariums tested here for ammonia, nitrates, nitrites, phosphate. A buck per test per sample, a lot cheaper than buying the kits myself since I lose stuff easily and I will only do these tests once in a very long while. The guy who does the tests, Pat, is really great at explaining stuff and identifying possible problems. He takes care of all the aquatic beasts and plants in the store really well, even the invertebrates look happy.

The staff is not friendly. They dont even say hi the moment you enter. I think one of them is the owner and he is like that too. They talk with each other and lunch while you are looking around or even while check out. It is a bit pricy, fish collections are ok. I went there few times because it is closer to me. But I realized that I am better going to the one further away for better service and better fish and supplies.

The Aquarium has a lot of salt water fish selection. It also has the nicest reef pieces Ive seen in a store. You can purchase small fragments of reef for cheap. They also have fresh water fish. But definitely a place to visit if you are interested in salt water fish. The Aquarium staff are very helpful. The manager is very knowledgeable.

I have been there 3 times. Every time, no price tags, no descriptions, staff were not all that friendly...in fact 2 two out of the 3 times I was there there were arguments and raised voices. On the other hand, the fish are healthy, and the aquariums seem clean. I just avoid going there now.

They have a good range of fish with friendly staff but I had an issue with my last purchase. One of the staff sold me a crab saying that it doesnt need air when I asked her. I dont know if she was not knowledgeable or lying in both case this not correct.

Plenty of helpful staff. This is probably the best all-around store you can find on the west side. Nature Aquarium in Santa Monica is a little cleaner and has much better plants, but you cant go wrong at The Aquarium.

Worst store I have been to... Poor selection, rude employees, overpriced. There are other good stores to go to..., and if there werent I would drive An hour to another store rather than go back to this one.

This is a quaint little store. Lots of small tanks with small (young, not necessarily small when they grow) fish. Good variety, great selection of FW plants.

If i was the owner i would fire all of them. The service was very bad and i wouldnt let none of them run my business.
