The course was nice enough, especially given a water shortage and this time of year. The staff was not overly welcoming to my group which was at the backend of a club outing. That I can understand. One the front nine we were told to speed up despite being one hole ahead of the group behind is and only half a hole behind the group in front of us but well under their pace of play guidelines. We quickly caught up and ended waiting almost every shot on holes 6-9. Once we made the turn we were told by a different Marshall to speed up. I explained the group we were originally behind didnt make the turn and someone jumped the backside behind us and we were still 30 minutes ahead of pace of play. So after we caught up to the one hole difference to the fivesome walking in front of us they left us alone. By the way, the Marshall had no problem with a walking fivesome and never once spoke to them.

Fun course. Flat and ideal for walking. If wind is blowing it is much more challenging. Great 19th hole. Sometimes a starter can be a dick, like hes doing you a favor for letting you pay to play. Big, nice greens. Some fantastic views. On course OB on a couple of hole on the back is lame but necessary to keep play moving along. Can play slow. Typically crowded. Check their online calendar before going there to walk on as there are many events at this course. Nice range and chipping area with bunker. Really nice large putting green with chipping allowed. Some tough holes like 4, 8, 10, 13 and 17. Good wet weather course, drains well. If you havent played it, you will probably enjoy it.

The front nine was very boring but the back nine had some nice views of the water. The service in the pro shop was awful and they never even said our names for our tee time. Their social skills need to go to an elementary classroom and learn how to treat people. Never saw any drink cart after 2nd hole at 3:30, and was never informed they shut up before we get around the turn to be able to purchase some drinks. If youre looking for an easy course choose this one but if you dont want lousy service there are far better golf courses to enjoy. The guy who set us up with the cart was the only person who knew what he was doing and acted like a professional. He gets a 5 star rating!!

This is a great course for a great price, Coronado is a beautiful island and has plenty of beach to visit. I also ate at the grill here and had an awesome Prime Rib meal. It is definitely worth a stop on the golf circuit of San Diego especially for the price, it is short but has beautiful views and the course has its challenges since it is narrow and they control the space with on course Out of bounds. I played one really slow round here (upwards of 5 hours) but also got in a Sunday Twilight round in just about 4 hours! So pace of play seems to vary.

Played in August 2015. The front nine was one of the best, if not the best, manicured courses I have ever played. The back nine has the awesome ocean harbor views, but the fairways were a little drier and rougher. (however, still very nice.) Course is very walkable since it is completely flat. I played late twilight, and since it is on the ocean, was able to squeeze every bit of daylight and finish my round. (no mountain for the sun to set behind!) Whenever Im in San Diego, I will now always try to squeeze a round in here!

Cant beat the price ($25.00 for 18 holes, $15.00 twilight) and as I live in Downtown San Diego (4.5 miles) this is where I play most of the time. The restaurant has excellent food and the bar is a great place to have adult beverages. A single can usually get on within an hour and Ive met players from all over the U.S., Korea, and Japan. Bill Clinton claimed he broke 80 for the first time when he played here back when he was president. However, the locals claim he was a score doctor.

The course was in good shape. But the pace of play was horrible. I had a 1:25 tee time and didnt get to play all 18. There was no Marshall and the traffic on each hole was horrible. I played the course for my birthday and immediately regretted it after I had to wait 10 minutes ins to tee off on the 3rd hole and the wait got longer with each hole played. The pro shop was unfriendly as well overall I rate this course two stars and thats only because of the views.

WOW .. probably one of the nicest courses I have played - and for a decent price. We were there for a bachelor party golf day. 4 foursomes... and they took great care of us. Even took time to make it tournament style for us... and putting the grooms name on the cards. We had lunch after on the patio clubhouse. Was pretty cool for a guys day out. The course is awesome, well kept, and the weather was nice and warm. I will be back if I get the chance

I give it 5 stars. I just recently had an event at the Bayside Grill located at Coronado Gulf Course that was planned with the events planner, Doreen. It was an awesome event!! My guest loved the food and the waitresses were so wonderful. Thank you Doreen for being such a wonderful events planner. Will keep you this facility in mind when planning for another event.

Wow, employees are jerks. Almost like I walked into a stuck up country club and they wanted me to leave. Employees asleep in the snack bar and pro shop employees completely rude. The course is nice - great view, but holy Christ! I felt like they need a reality check - you work at the Coronado golf course - youre no better then anyone else.

Love playing this course! Always well maintained and such a gorgeous course. The only problem with this course is that its way to crowded with people stacked on each other, it really makes it hard to get in the groove of your game. Im giving 5 stars because its just such a beautiful couse with gorgeous views on every corner of the course.

This is one of my favorite courses in San Diego. Its not very difficult. Its pretty flat. Easy to walk. Great views and cool breeze. Not very expensive. I do agree with some of the comments about the staff being a little too laid back and not pushing the pace. They also allow 5 players per group...

You cant beat the twilight price for an ocean front golf course! The clubhouse has great happy hour food also and you have a great view to relax after your game. Full driving range. The only negative is that the courses usually so busy that you are waiting on every hole. Still worth it though.

I gotta admit i have no clue why people pay to play here. The course isnt in that great of shape and we just played a near 6 hr round. We had some super loud arrogant assholes playing behind us. And no course personell to do anything about it. Poor course management.
