My husband and I stayed at the Highlands Estate for two nights (in January). It is located in one of the most beautiful areas of California. The rolling green hills and open pastures and vineyards are a sight to see. Gard and Whitney are the nicest people. Very warm and welcoming and very knowledgeable of the area and things to do. They are most gracious and very willing to help you with any planning. They also have wonderful literate and maps of the area readily available to you as well as some wine tasting passes for some of the local wineries. They really know their wines, so feel free to pick their brains. They have created a beautiful home and B&B which we felt fortunate to share. The rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable with very nice up to date bathrooms and amenities. The grounds are peaceful and the scenery stunning. They have worked hard to make their B&B a place that you will absolutely enjoy. Upon arrival and warm greeting, they take you on a tour of the house and grounds. There is a nicely equipment gym, and a billiard room. We were also fortunate to be invited to watch a movie in the Theatre Room one evening which is an unbelievable room with plush reclining chairs, blankets and a sound system that will blow any theater away. Very fun. In the mornings we were greeted with a delicious hot sit down breakfast cooked by Whitney. Fresh eggs, fruit from the property, sausages, and more. One of the mornings we had the most delicious french toast along with our eggs, sausages and fruit. It rivaled anything you would get at an upscale restaurant. We can’t wait to see the barn finished. It is going to make a perfect space, indoor and out for any event. I cannot say enough good things about this place and them both. We love the area and look forward to staying with Gard and Whitney many, many more times. If you’re looking for a wonderful get away or place to host your event we highly recommend The Highlands Estate!!

This review is a little late in coming but my wife and I stayed at the Highlands Estate for 3 nights last fall and had a relaxing and wonderful time. We’ve been to Napa and Sonoma a few times so we wanted to try something a little further out. You really get the feel of “getting away from it all” at this place even though it’s not too far from Cloverdale. The grounds are beautiful with a small vineyard located right next to the house and views of rolling hills all around. Gard and Whitney (the owners) were terrific hosts and made us feel very welcomed. We especially loved Whitney’s breakfasts! They also know their wines (I believe Whitney is a trained sommelier) and gave us some good recommendations for local vineyards. We stayed in the Meritage room which is the largest of all their rooms. Loved waking up to views of the hills partially blanketed by thick fog, quite magical! We also enjoyed hanging out on the deck in the back, reading our Kindles and sipping some wine. We live near Downtown Seattle with all the typical the hustle and bustle of a major city so staying at the Highlands was just the right antidote to restore our sanity. We’re already planning to come back sometime this spring!

The Highlands Estate offers such a great guest experience and is home to the most beautiful wedding venue. Driving up to the property you are immediately taken to a whole other world. Its tranquil, lush, and so enchanting. The home is the perfect bed and breakfast spot - spacious rooms each with their own private bathroom, great accommodations and outdoor patio spaces, and is close to some wonderful wineries! Customer service is impeccable, they make you feel very welcome the moment you step onto the property. If youre in the market for a wedding venue, The Highlands Estate is definitely one to consider. The rustic vibe, rolling hills, and vineyards in the distance are absolute perfection...the barn allows for a great party setting, with BEAUTIFUL hand-made wooden tables, wagon wheel chandeliers, and huge barn doors that open to a patio draped in market lights. This venue is one to keep in mind, whether your wedding party is 10 people or 100 people, the space is intimate and truly spectacular.

My husband and I stayed in the Terroir room and it was delightful. Not only is this B&B beautiful and very clean, it also has the most knowledged hosts to help you find the best winery in the area. Breakfast was very yummy. Not just fruit and yogurt, but a hot farm fresh egg, souffle or blueberry pancake breakfast. They also have the perfect settling for a beautiful wedding. Highly recommend The Highlands Estate.

the Highlands Estate BnB had everything we look for in a good BnB - nice grounds, clean and quiet, a comfortable room and great breakfast. The owners are exceptionally nice do a great job managing the place. Its located off in the country in the midst of vineyards. We would definitely stay there every time we are in the area.

Beautiful home. Slept very peacefully. Only criticism is I wish there was some hot food for breakfast. The house and owners are great!
