The drive from Davis to the Mountain House Estate is just two hours, but each mile takes you away from the more congested Highway 80 to a quieter and more scenic ride heading north on Highway 101. Just tune into the San Francisco classical musical station and enjoy the scenery as it gradually shifts from rounded hills and ranches to patches of forest and vineyards under wide expanses of cloud-filled sky. The last half hour is a 10-mile climb above Cloverdale to the cooler mountain top vista. As you leave the city stress behind, you’ll relax into the deep quiet of the country, and arrive refreshed. The natural beauty of the oak woodland welcomes you and life slows down. Ahhhh. What a perfect spot for a wedding or special event.

Im a local wedding vendor (DJ) and our company (Nor Cal Pro Sound) has had the pleasure of handling quite a few weddings at Mountain House Estate. A must say not only is it a fantastic wedding/ event location with its many options and amazing scenery, but Lane and John (owners) are so great to work with. There always available during each event and theyre upkeep of the property is impeccable. If youre looking for unique yet classy venue this is the place to be! Thank you Lane and John for bringing Mountain House Estate into the wedding and event into the wine country wedding scene. Heres to many years and many happy clients!

I posted the pictures while I was at the Mountain House Estate, but waited until I got home to write this review. All I can say is WOW! This place is totally accessible with modern amenities while feeling rustic, remote, and private. The surrounding property is soooo pretty with this little jewel tucked away in the rolling hills. The venue itself has a bar, a nice pond, and plenty of indoor and outdoor areas for seating and dancing. Most importantly, the owner is the nicest guy who does everything he can to make guests feel welcome.

From a videographers perspective: this place is a beautiful backdrop for filming a love story. From the bridal sweet to the dance floor...every scene is lovely. Its a versatile place, looking grand in the day time and night, and the style is a rustic modern, easily accommodating almost any wedding theme. The view is stunning all the way around the venue. The place is well organized, spotlessly clean, and the management is superb. John and Lane are awesome!! I would definitely recommend this venue to couples in the area.

If you want a beautiful venue, including exquisite suites, for a wedding, anniversary or other important celebration,this is an excellent choice. We had a warm, elegant party for 60 of our tight-knit community members last night that was absolutely perfect. From the frogs serenading us from the pond in front, to the bright moon lighting up the dark, secluded skies, to the generous hospitality of our hosts, it was an evening to remember.

My husband and I recently attended an event here. We were impressed by the Estates ability to accommodate a large group but still retain the warm and intimate feeling of a gracious home. All, including the exquisite gardens, are well maintained and immaculate. The most beautiful venue in the area! Love all the different parts to this private estate. Pond, huge lawn, outdoor dance floor, barn, indoor bar, swing, awesome oak tree ceremony site with a cute little shed up top, beautiful garden, gorgeous bridal suite, and awesome groom suite, just to name a few of the things Mountain House Estate has to offer. I love this venue and highly recommend to all couples!

On 3/19/16 We held our membership meeting for YHGVA at Mountain House Estate. About 80 members and guests attended. The setting was perfect and the preparations outstanding. The owners John and Lane Alden were very attentive and ensured that the evening was totally pleasurable. It is clearly an ideal setting, with all the supporting amenities, to provide a perfect venue for business or social events.

We attended a large dinner event at this lovely estate last month, and were very pleasantly surprised by the casual elegance and well appointed rooms and spaces now available. A perfect place for not just a wedding, but a corporate event, a retreat, or a multi-day conference. Location is convenient on beautiful highway, just a few miles off 101, yet feels remote and relaxing.
