We stay here with our fifth wheel and it is one of our favorite spots. Water, sewer, trash, and electricity are included in the nightly fee, and a laundry area (albeit small) is available for use at a reasonable rate. There are 75 sites available, in at times it fills up very quickly, so plan ahead. Stays are limited to 15 days per one month period. Very dog-friendly and family-friendly with numerous areas to walk, hike, ride bikes or scooters, etc, as well as horses. The playground is a great one, though a few minor areas could use some upgrades or repairs; a splash pad is available during the summer. Sunrises and sunsets can be gorgeous if you catch a good one. Rangers are always friendly and helpful, as is the office staff when. Fishing, boating, and disc golf are also available. Firewood and bait are often available at the main gate, and they sell out quickly, especially on weekends. RV sites are well-spaced, with lots of green space, frequent bathrooms and trash cans. We have never used the showers, but if I remember correctly they are a dollar for five minutes and use quarters. Bathrooms arent the best and could use some updating, but are plentiful throughout the park. A few things you may want to know ahead: this park is located in prime dairy farm areas; if the wind is right, you will absolutely smell that. There are a lot of mosquitos and ants at times, so bring bug spray for you AND the outside of your rig! It is also right next to a womens prison; if you camp in lower numbered sites you seem to be able to hear announcements more than in higher numbered sites. Group camp areas and day use sites seem to have a lot of use, with some really cool events held at the park on occasion. Sometimes that means traffic in and out of the gate is pretty crazy, but the RV sites are at the farthest end of the park from the gate and day use, so they are a bit more of a buffer from that. There is no camp store onsite, but there are tons of stores and lots of shopping within a 10 mile range. Despite signs to the contrary, there is no snack bar. Laundry area consists of two washers and two dryers, so be prepared to wait your turn if it is in use, or take a bit longer if you have a lot of laundry; bring quarters as there is no change machine. All things considered, this is a great place to stay and we have yet to deal with drunken, loud, obnoxious campers like many other RV sites seem to be plagued with. While the weekends can get busy, week days and nights are pretty quiet and peaceful. Great place to add to your RV camping list!

The lake is large, there are many items for family and friends to play, can picnic, fishing, camping, the lake has catfish, carp, there are a variety of birds can enjoy, you can bring pets. Usually not many people, very quiet, is a good place for leisure!

You cant go swimming anywhere in its lake & most of the grass is dead, which makes the park very ugly. Plus, the parks biggest design problem is: There are NOT enough restroom buildings for how big the park is & to accommodate a full park. There should be 1 more restroom building for EVERY "section" of the park... because the restrooms are way too far apart in each section of the park. And.. IF your group happens to be in the middle of one of the very large sections of the park, as the event I attended was, you have a long walk to a restroom... Which is very hard on disabled persons, those with small children & for those that suddenly have to urinate quickly. For this one BIG reason, I feel that Prado Regional Park is not a very good park to go to for an all day visit.

Horrible experience. 1st time ever coming here with my one yr old son and niece since we just moved over from l.a County down here. We first went to the equestrian parking lot and that was a nice view of the horses. Decided to go to the playground and spiders in any and every place crawling around my niece on the swing and my son on the playground. To top it off everything was muddy and trash everywhere. Looked like a great park but was seriously disappointed. 8 dollars down the drain in 30 min

This is a beautiful park, great for a day visit or for camping. Theres lots of trails for biking or hiking. You can fish at the lake. Theres disc golfing. Only reason for one less star is the noise from the shooting range near by. You dont get to experience that quiet nature feel here because of it. But eventually it becomes background noise that you dont really notice. Also, beware there are skunks that arent too afraid of people and wander right into the camp sites.

I read the previous reviews.. I didnt agree.. I thought it was a very nice park.. I was there for fishing though.. I caught three trout.. I went on a Sunday at the end of December.. There were flies, but I just sprayed a little bug repellent, and all was well.. I think the other reviews were bias.. I didnt even get to explore the whole park.. There was a bunch of recreation and activity throughout the park.. I had a great day..

My worst camping trip ever! I had no air conditioning their outlet had loose fuses and would not fix it. I was told to not run my air at all. I ask for a refund they said NO! Then told me to go but a 50amp plug and my trailer does not run off a 50amp... they told me no swimming pools for kids or ezups, and there was people with swimming pools and ez ups. I will never ever camp here again!

The guy at the front gate acted like he was doing us a HUGE favor getting us a camp site. He made it seem like there werent any spots available but when we pulled into the campground there were only about 8 sites occupied. The construction going on next to park and the loud speaker from the prison made the stay less than desireable. I also think that the $35 site fee is a bit pricey.

For how nice the park is, its great, the price is fair considering theyve been cut off of state funding, the grass is always watered and cut. If you go early enough you can see them deliver fish to the lake for the fisherman. You need a fishing license to fish and you need to buy a permit there. They recently trained new staff so that mean gate lady is gone Over all 5/5 stars
