We have not visited the winery for about 8 or 9 years; always found ourselves without the time to stop when headed home. However, tonight we were drinking our last bottle of the Annapolis 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon and thinking that we really must return, soon. We tried the wine both direct to the glass without aeration through a venturi plus screen aerator, and with aeration, both at approximately 60 degrees F, for those who care about such things. A very satisfying varietal, easily identified and with a lovely balance, despite the relatively high 14. 6% abv listed on the back label. I would not normally have purchased a cab with such a high abv, but tasting at the winery convinced me that this one should be the exception in which the grapes would overcome the alcohol, and we sere so rewarded! Nice acidity balance with fully ripe flavors from time on the vine. Wish I could find that in any Napa V cabs, but I really believe that the Sonoma Coast can deliver better than the Napa Valley for grapes picked at a high Brix. We had purchased mostly Pinot Noir and Zin, and Im very gratified that I was able to imagine where that cab was going back in 2005. Wish I had more! We liked the Pinot Noirs, and would put the Zinfandel up against several better known labels, but the cab was the best-made of the 4 varieties that we purchased.

We visited last week on Thursday July 10th. Had a wonderful experience with Barbara, the tasting was great, learning about the winery was fun. Purchased a Rose and a bottle of Port (Port is fantastic). Rose was bottled a few weeks ago, this well let age. Highly recommended visit.
