AVOID shows at this venue!! Deserves zero stars. They are misleading in how they promote their events and have usurious and extortionist policies. For example, we bought tickets for a show on June 30 advertised as doors opening at 6pm, show starting at 7:30. When we arrived at 6pm, thankfully by Uber, we find that you cant even pull into the parking lot without paying $7, so we had to walk a distance to get to the theater. Then we find out that the actual performance wouldnt start UNTIL 9:30PM. At the supposed show time, they were going to have "swing dance lessons" until the concert started TWO HOURS LATER. Thats 3.5 hours AFTER doors opening. That might have been acceptable if they had indicated in any way at all what the actual time the performance was to actually begin. And assuming youre willing to wait that long, there isnt anything to do nearby - its in the middle of nowhere so if you didnt drive youre stranded unless you want to walk a mile in the desert heat across the Mill Ave. bridge. At least we lived reasonably close by. Heaven help you if you took a long expensive cab ride to get there only to find out that your show wont start until you were expecting it to be nearly over. On top of that they have a no re-entry policy for some reason, so if you didnt realize your show was starting so much later and actually entered and then left to go do something else you would not be able to come back without buying new tickets. On top of that the staff were rude and dismissive and talked down to us as if we had never been to a concert before, "thats how concerts are, theres always an opener before the main act." Yes I know that, I have at the tender age of 43 been to a few concerts in my time. Usually the opener for a music act is also a similar music act, not "dance lessons", and its sometime between when doors open and when the show is advertised to start. So for a weekday show advertised as doors open 6pm, show at 7:30, I dont think Im crazy to have expected the show to actually start at 7:30, not 9:30. When we asked for a refund they treated us like we were stupid, crazy lunatics and practically laughed in our faces. So if you are bound and determined to go see a show at this theater be forewarned - heaven knows when your show will actually start, plan to stay put the whole time, dont expect anything resembling customer service, and eat first, the only food on site is crappy pizza. And if you have the audacity to ask for your money back, well, just you wait and see.

Marquee is incredibly mismanaged and lacks customer service. Its amazing to me that they are still in business. Recent FREE show I went to featured Kreyshawn and Tmills. There were 2 lines for security...a boys and girls line (sexual discrimination!!) and instead of having a sign of what you cant bring in with you, or the numerous security guards standing around doing nothing telling you what you CANT bring inside, the security guards around just kept yelling in the line of people if your a guy go in the guys line. Ill say right now you can get through airport security probably 3 times in the time it takes you to get through Marquee security. When me and my sister finally got to the front, the security guard asked me if she could *look* in my purse, to which i obliged, but then once i opened it, she began to rustle around in my purse with her hand. Not cool. I never agreed to her grabbing my things. She then found a few pens. . yes. PENS you know those things your write with and might commonly have with you in your purse? Without a beat she began grabbing all my pens as she said "no pens" with the intention of throwing them out. Needless to say I was not going to let this happen since a few of them were pricey pens which were gifts (not crappy bic types), and some were micron art pens that were not cheap -yeah Im an art student. I tend to have drawing utensils with me. They didnt care that i had a can of mace in my purse, but pens raised a red flag. I had budgeted about 50 bucks to spend on alcohol there, but Im so glad I made the decision to leave at the door when the pen issue came about, before bending to their will and actually giving them my hard earned money at the bar. When I left I also noticed people in their parking lot smoking pot and snorting things. If management and security has an issue with PENS but not MACE and not with customers doing illegal substances in your parking lot, I highly suggest you get off the crack your snorting. Will never return there for ANY show again.

At the marquee, customers are made to take off their shoes. I have abided on several occasions without complaint. One time I decided to make the suggestion of placing a carpet at the area where people are walking barefoot. Also perhaps adding a bench to aid guests in replacing their shoes. The security girl simply replied, ”I dont care.” I was dismayed. I asked her if she could not just mention it to her superior. She said ”Its not my job.” I then said customer service IS part of your job. She only then said to me with an attitude, ”Just lift up your arms so I can do my job.” After getting patted down, I asked her name she refused and said she did nothing wrong. I asked a co worker and he shrugged and said he didnt know her name. I knew this was a lie. I looked around for her superior, but she found her first and blurted out that I was going to complain about her. The supervisor lady only angrily yelled out, ” If she dont like it she can just not go in.” I felt helpless at this point and all of it for simply wanted to make a suggestion. I backed down because I know theyll kick you out for next to nothing and I had already purchased my ticket. Later on in the night though, A drunk man was harassing me and my friends in front of a security guard and he just stood by. When it began to escalate, one of my friends tried to recruit him to assist. It was fruitless. To all this, I very politely say to promoters, Please dont subject us to this. Please find other venues to bring your shows. And to the marquee staff, If you dont like your job, change it. I PAY to go there and have a good time. You get PAID to protect me. I essentially pay your bills. Treat me with respect.

Today I went to a concert and in all honesty, we werent given the best service ever. The security guards were rude and unnecessary. While we were waiting for the concert to start, these people in front of us decided to buy a water bottle from the security guards who were selling them. The guy who bought the water bottle handed his friend $25 because it was too crowded for him to search and get the exact amount needed. The guys friend hands the guard the $25 and says something along the lines of getting the change back. Instead of giving change back and giving a water bottle, the guard gives them the water bottle but walks away with giving change. After that, the guy proceeded to ask another security guard about the situation and this guard said that he cant do anything about it due to having no reciept. Nobody, absolutely nobody, got a reciept due to the fact that the water bottles were being sold while we were in the arena waiting for the singer to come out. The security guard never gave the money back. Although this didnt involve me, it was unfair to the guy in front of me. The second guard didnt even do anything to help!! Also, the rules were so unnecessary! My cousin couldnt even bring in a packet of gum. How ridiculous is that?? Along with everything else, no one there stops cutting and such. I was there for about 6 hours before the concert and was pushed back due to cutting. Theres no order and honestly, I wouldnt go back to this arena.
