I prefer to start at This trailhead rather than the one on the other side. But there are pros and cons to starting on either side. This trail gets you to the top quicker, but it is steaper. I like taking this side up the mountain for a better running workout, so it might not be best if youre looking for a chill stroll. It is also a bit less tame. I personally kinda like that, but its all about preferance.

Beautiful keep trails busy with hikers, dogs on leads, family friendly, horses, mountain biking, trails are quite sandy but its the desert what you expect ; -) clean! Feel like they could utilize the mountains they have and make more trails with more difficulties! But overall great place! Enjoyed every hike I have done and plan on bringing friends to enjoy it too!

I went on a Sunday morning early. It was quite crowded near the entry, but as soon as I got a half mile or so down one of the trails it was nice and quiet. The trail was well established, and the view was incredible. Take a sun hat, wear comfortable shoes, TAKE WATER, and enjoy the walk. Its a nice place to get away from the city for a while.

Super convenient. Trails of a wide diversity of difficulty and lengths. Routes are relatively easy to figure out and, if you cannot, pretty much anyone you talk to will be more than willing to share their knowledge with you to make your visit more pleasant. All of that and the trails are wide enough that I can spot snakes to keep my dog safe.

My wife and I found the park by accident. Several weeks later we are annual members. Great trails - outstanding hiking for all ages. Trails are rated from "easy" to difficult. Bring water and a hat. Great to start early in the AM. Hope to do it on the horses in the very near future. All trails offer different views. Good workout too !

A beautiful Sonoran desert park. A good number of trails of varying length. Goldmine Mountain trail is a steep and rocky aerobic workout with nice views at the top. Lots of parking at the main entrance on Philips Road. A much smaller lot is at the end of Wagon Wheel Road. It fills up early, except during the summer.

The trails here are well maintained and well marked. There are trails of varying difficulty so you have plenty of options for whoever you may want to bring and if you make the effort for one of the more difficult trails, you are rewarded with a stellar view of the valley atop one of the peaks of the San tan mountains.

I took my 6 year old hiking here and she loved it. There are numerous paths to follow and the maps/signs are easy to read. We were both able to the traverse the trail up into the mountain. I believe it was $6 to enter per car. We will definitely head back again in the future.

This is a great place to take the whole family for a hike. Entry to the park is only $6 per car and there are so many great trails to hike or go horseback riding. The park rangers are very knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely recommend the moonlight hike.

Be careful of the Gold Mine Trail. Its is very difficult for a novice. 2300 elevation to the top. Steep grade to get to it, without any big rocks for steps. Mostly loose rock, gravel and fist size rocks to walk on. Bring plenty of water with you!

Lots of different train difficulty levels. Not expensive to get in. Trails are all well maintained. My family and I average about 2 times a month. I just wish the annual pass was a little more reasonable, otherwise I would buy one

$6 dollar entry for single vehicle. Great mix of easy, moderate, and hard trails. Some of the loops can take an hour or two, so bring plenty of water. People are friendly, the scenery beautiful, and its super quiet.

This is my favorite Regional Park. I have been hiking and riding out here for years, and I still love it. Also, there is a beautiful Crested Saguaro in the park. Where? You have to go adventure to find it!

Great park. Nice trails, kept up pretty well. Too many people tend to ruin the experience. Look for trails farther out to escape the masses. Dont forget water (you will need more than one bottle!)

Great combination of hiking and mountain biking trails. Good elevation climb on Gold Mine trail. Lots of trail combinations to explore. Great panoramic view from the peak of the Gold Mine trail.

There is a trail for any hiker from beginner to advanced. You can also map out how far you you want to hike. The best view of the valley is on the goldmine trail.

Multiple trails to choose from for easy hiking, biking or horse riding. The shortest trail loop takes a little over an hour depending on your walking pace.

Good for a quick workout. Nothing special or spectacular, but sunsets can be pretty good. Easy to medium trails. Good for mountain biking for all ages.

Steep price for this particular mountain range. There are plenty of other free options that have MUCH better trails that arent too far of a drive.

You have to pay to get in, which Google doesnt mention. Also, you can only use cash. All things that would be good to know before going there.

Good mixture of short, intermediate and long trails. Gold Mine Trail is a fairly steep climb, but doable for most and not that long.

Great place to take star photos because it is far enough out of the city to not be hindered by the light pollution. Also a great hike
