A beautiful place to visit indeed! It is easy to miss this park since it sits below the bridge. I only discovered it upon getting off the train to take pics of the flags I had always seen upon my passing. Though hidden, it is still a great locational companion ( if such a phrase exists) to the famous Burton Barr Library. It has an awesome track for jogging , biking, skating, taking a relaxing walk, and plenty of sitting area for reading a good book as well. Sitting area can either be on the grass or the plenty of chairs placed bear the north side of the park. Margaret T Hance Park has a full childrens park as well and the entire grounds near it are good for them to run around as well, in plain sight of parents and guardians. What most surprised me about this park is that it had a volleyball play area with net, beach sand, and even chairs nearby to sit back and watch the game. I was intrigued indeed to see that people actually came out to play full force. The downside to this park that one needs to be aware of is the homeless population that passes through and sometimes camp out at the park. Most do not bother anyone and are just there to rest, but my last visit there I came across a few suspicious activity bear the bathroom area. I believe they were doing drugs and two women seemed to have just washed up there. The bathroom was filthy so if you must use the washroom go to the Burton Barr library for theirs are almost always cleaner. And do not send your children to the bathroom by themselves as a safety precaution. I mention this because I see this all too often and I do not think it us wise. Overall, the place us beautiful and makes for excellent pictures abd relaxation.

I live in the neighborhood and walk my dog twice a day in this fantastic park. Unfortunately its been taking over by the homeless and mentally ill. If you walk early enough before the City opens the public restroom you may be treated by the sight of public defecation in the bushes next to the Japanese Friendship Garden. Bathing in the sprinklers is also another common site as are the drugged out zombies walking about. I dont know how the City can rectify the problem but the Homeless Service organizations in the area are exacerbating the problem by drawing them to the neighborhood. Every morning the City workers clean-up the mounds of trash and discarded items left each night. If you can deal with all of this than its great.

I didnt find the music festival here at this park very well orginized at all (coming from a former country music entertainer). I drive for rideshare. I turned off 7th st and somehow kept going around the park looking for a close drop off location. I eventually found a drop off location on 3rd st. By then it was too late because my passengers became inpatient and bolted out of my car while i was waiting in a lane. A police officer saw it and pulled me over to use some bad language while scolding me as if its my fault. I really dont like driving people to this park during events. Haters.

Nice park. CoCo and I had our very first doggie day outing amongst other dogs of play. Sure, Ive carried her in Pet Smart and other places for I didnt want her to walk and eat OFF ground. Shes had ALL her shots. The City DOES need to EMPTY those poop cans often, so maggots WONT form where poop is. CoCo pooped and when I raised lid to throw in, ALL that aroma came out. Stinky!!!!!!!! SOME people have let their dogs poop on ground and didnt pick it up. Bad bad humans.

Ive been to this park several times for the McDowell Mountain Music Festival which has been held here for the past several years. The park itself is spacious and is in a great location, within walking distance to the light rail and many of my favorite bars and restaurants downtown. One thing I noticed is some areas of the park are in need of updating, I look forward to the expansion and improvements proposed for this park.

Margaret T. Hance Park really showcases the dichotomy of the rapid gentrification of Phoenix. While there are multi-story mixed use condominiums sprouting like the weeds of redevelopment the park is still the daytime home of many of the citys homeless. The fountains have been decommissioned and are an eyesore. The abundant shade is often taken by those without shelter.

This park is surrounded by several Phoenix landmarks and attractions. The large grassy area has some scattered trees for shade. There are restroom facilities but keep in mind that they are at a park, and frequented by transients, still a step above using a port a potty. There is a sand volleyball court, a shady playground and covered Ramada/picnic area.

Central!!!! To Phoenix, Great library Burton Barr is there, close to freeway I10 on/off ramp. Walking distance to downtown, light rail, art museum, etc. Homeless hangout for naps, give them fruit n water if you have it otherwise they will leave you alone. Greenery surrounds park, has a play structure, and they have events frequently.

Love this neighborhood and love this park. I would walk my dogs thru this large park at 3am for the 3 years I lived in the neighborhood and I never had any safety issues. I wish they would put the water back in the fountains, behind the library, on the east side of the bridge. Then I could give it 5 stars...

I bring my cousins and my niece to play a game of soccer on Saturdays. Also bring along my pup cowboy to chase the kids and birds. Its a nice and big park to get away from the busy life. Sure love coming here to spend time with the kiddos and my companion.

Beautiful newer park is a must go to in downtown Phoenix. Concerts and other community events are held there and it has two dog parks. Though occasional transients frequent the park it is safe and has luscious green grass surroundings. Its a favorite.

Shame on you City of Phoenix. I used to like this park: This park is named after a respectful person and you let it become a dump in a homeless shelter. Where are Margaret T Hances family members... this is a shame

This large rolling Park offers plenty of space for many activities. We visited for a Chinese festival featuring; many food vendors, and kiosks of Chinese items, a Mahjongg booth, a beer area and childrens games.

This is a friendly beautiful park where many of my friends hangout because the library is there. I have spent a lot of time in this park and highly recommend it especially when there are special events there.
