I got an invite via comp. tickets given to a friend. Its very obvious the parks outdated. We rented tubes and floated around the wave pool and headed to the slides. We went to the speed slide. I went, crossed my arms over my chest, feet over at the ankles locking all the way to my toes together, laid back which is what the girl told me to do. I felt what seemed to be the seams of the slide on my back. Im not a huge person, 54" and 160lbs but this must of played a factor in what I was feeling because my 59" boyfriend who weighs 135 didnt feel that. It was right around the second bend that I felt a scratch on my foot. I came out and stood in the small pool of water to the right of the slide, looked down and theres blood. Guy manning the slide said "you ok?" I look at him and look at my foot and say, "well yea I think Im just going to take a look at it." He didnt seem very concerned. The cut is bleeding profusely. I agree to have medical come. A young person came over with a ziplock bag with some gauze and tape. Im now standing in the filthy grass to avoid burning my feet in front of the slides. With a gash to the side of my big toe bleeding like crazy, the guy wraps gauze around it, no rinse was offered. Then medical tape to keep it on. A little girl, no older then 10 and pretty small came out and was given an ice pack because she bumped her head going down the slide. I read other reviews thats common! The slide was closed right after that little girl hurt her head for maybe 20min. I never saw anyone inspect the slide. My boyfriend went back to the top and got my sandals. The girl working up there asked if I had "ripped my toenail off". reviews told me that happened to someone! Glad its such an easy topic for them to bring up. The "medic" helping me was accompanied by a fellow that said, "thats going to fall right off when you get back in the water" referring to my bandages. They really wanted me to get back in the water with a bleeding toe!? Did they not see the pool of blood I was standing in!? An hour or so passed and I had to get new gauze. Went to the office and was offered comp tickets, wont be back so no. Medical comes quickly and wraps another layer of gauze exclaiming "we wont take that off just keep wrapping it with a new layers until you can get home and re wrap it yourself. Wow ok, not even a new bandage let alone letting me clean it with something. During this he tells me the slide is dangerous and that "unfortunately people who are larger tend to get hurt going down that slide". Great, no one over 140 or under 120 should really ride the speed slide. Smaller, you could get a concussion, "larger" and you could get wounds. Through small talk every person I encountered that worked there agreed this type of thing happens often, from that particular slide. When we were leaving, I went to the office again to ask for another "layer" and some tape so I can secure it all for the drive home. I was escorted to the first aid room. It was the first time I felt someone cared. There I was offered to remove my bandages, have saline solution to clean the wound and got a fresh wrap. This was around 3hrs after the incident, when I finally got to clean it up. The medical guy sympathized with my predicament and encouraged me to get a refund stating hes "had these types of incidences and they got their money back. Its the least the park can do". Back to the office and once they found out I had comp tickets they didnt want to do anything. Meanwhile Im $30 down in first aid supplies. I work with animals and beings as though one wrong move makes it bleed profusely I had to reschedule half my day. Thats money Im losing from thanks to this. Ill never come back and Im making sure every parent and amusement park dweller I know hears about my experience. I encourage everyone whos had an injury to report it to them. They need to know and they need to fix their parks problems. Fix this place up or shut it down. Im not the first and until its fixed wont be the last.

Not worth the cost to go, and REALLY needs better lifeguards. Overall, its confusing where you need to go to get things, and the general look of the park is that its in need of maintenance/repair. We took our toddler there this weekend and a lot of the slides in the toddler area werent running or were broken. There was only one slide that really worked and it was pretty crowded with some very large kids (non-toddler) that were pushing the little kids out of the way without the lifeguard or their parents saying anything. Its really hard to try to get a toddler to take turns when the older kids dont follow the rules either and consistently push the little kids aside. Went to try a different slide (the tamest looking one there) with our son on our lap. We were told that he couldnt ride on our lap, but he could ride with one of us in a two person raft down the slide, where we hold on to him with our feet? Didnt make much sense but we decided to try it since he really wanted to go down a slide. Got the raft and my husband took him on the slide. Well, that was a HORRIBLE recommendation from the lifeguards. We had asked 3 separate guards to make sure we had heard them right before taking him on the slide, and it ended up that we really shouldnt have trusted their advice. Our son fell OUT of the raft and was going to slam his head on the side of the slide if my husband had not caught him. He described it as going too fast too quickly. The raft flipped on them when it went too fast on a sideways wall, which is how our son fell out, and in catching him, my husband hurt himself on the way down just trying to keep our sons head above water. I was greeted at the end of the slide with an upside down raft and my husband/crying son underneath it! Needless to say, it would have been FAR safer if he were in our lap rather than a separate part of a raft where he had nothing that he could reach to hold on to. I would NOT recommend going here with young kids/toddlers, as its really not worth the price, and the life guards dont give you accurate information. I would have preferred that they told me they wouldnt allow him on the slide rather than the recommendation they gave, which ended up in him falling out and nearly getting seriously injured! Thank God for my husbands quick reactions, despite the difficult situation. We wont be going back here again.

Spent last Saturday at Breakers Water Park in Tucson. Pros: the grounds were adequately maintained, there were lots of tables, chairs, shade umbrellas, the food prices were fair. For the most part most of the employees we came in contact with were cordial, friendly--NO, welcoming--NO. They just passed the cordial bar and barely. It seemed like they were going through the motions just trying to get through this late season weekend and that they wanted to be anywhere else but there. The wave pool appeared to be clean and the lifeguards were attentive. Cons: Only 2 slides were open, the 3 big ones that everyone wanted to go on were closed due to rain the night before...not sure what that was all about, but heard someone say that the pools at the bottom of the slides were full of dirty water. Maybe dirt from the washed into the pools?? A male attendant on top of the smaller slide was very rude to my 4 year old grandson when he got to the top of the slide. My grandson was wearing rubber/mesh swim shoes and the attendant said "cant you read the sign, it says no shoes up here". My adult nephew piped up and said "no he cant read, hes only 4". The attendant then snapped at my nephew and said "take off you damn glasses". What????? The parking lot is a nightmare of washed out gravel, creating ruts and bumps and pits of sand. It was overpriced for the whole experience and we had $6 off coupons. It was about $58 for 2 adults and one 4 year old. Pros: They did give us a rain check for free admission on any date they are open later this year, which is just weekends for about two more weeks. That is something I guess...just not sure I want to go back.
