I learned my first information about "Iron City" music venue online, next, digging a bit deeper, and talking to friends, and finding out about "Red Mountain Entertainment" it came down to one thing. The end of 2013 I purchased my first pair of tickets to see Gregg Allman in Concert January 15th of this year. This being the 45 anniversary of The Allman Brothers Band, well what a way to get the year off the ground, and I tell no tales this was a Great show, venue not small, not huge, just right, handed out a few cards to people that were working very hard at there certain jobs, everyone was great. Devon Allman, and his band opened up, for his father, came out front signed anything, and everything, plus took pictures with many Concert goers. The talent that is booked into Iron City is A +, and what I like, and know many shows have been sold out. That should be enough, right ? No get on to the Venue early, and while you are almost ready to get your music on, take a turn here, and there, and have you some FINE FOOD, all at the same local. my second show was THE ZOMBIES. Nothing further need be said. My next show CHEAP TRICK, wow look at those chill bumps. So in ending this review, I am sure you can see Loved it, with some stars right ? Who in the back said no ? anyway just let me put the stars to bed, Count the star review 1 2 3 4 5. Thats right no other way to rate this Venue, Staff, Food, Drinks, and in my case a non drinker of the bar favorites, so far free sprite as a DD, or they just love my smile. Just to make it clear 5, FIVE STAR FEATURES FOR IRON CITY GRILL, STAFF, AND CONCERT VENUE PERIOD.

I will not be going back to iron city after two bad experiences with the ludacris security (for concerts). Ive been to hundreds of shows at multiple different venues. Never in my life has the security been so intense/inappropriate. The rude lady dug through my purse and then pulled out my keys. I had a one and half inch mace on my keychain and she refused to let me in unless I throw it away. That was absolutely ridiculous. If I had been mugged or anything while leaving that place without my mace, I would have most definitely take action against iron city. My father is a lawyer and he said that that was absolutely ridiculous for them to make me throw away my mace, and if something had happened to me leaving, we would be taking them down. The second bad experience was last night for a concert. Not only was I completely groped and pat down, the lady went through every zipper in my purse, including a little bag that I keep tampons in, and my wallet. Never has anyone shuffled through my money or wallet. The crazy security is making many people not want to come back to this venue. It makes the concert or event extremely unenjoyable. Iron city, lighten up. Quit treating us like criminals, and treat us like paying customers.

Terrible!I was told when i bought the tickets for Gregg Allman show if i spent $30.00 dollars in the restaurant,i could go into the venue early i could go before the doors opened. Our waitress said that wasnt true.I have a cold as well as my wife,so she went to the car and i called her when they were giving out arm bands.I had reserved seats. Here i stand in line in 40 degree temp and the doors opened.I go to get a seat and there were people in the restaurant still eating when we left that was brought in from a side door.People in front of me the same story, and they were in front of us.I also called after buying tickets to verify getting in the back way.I could had gone and got a burger, because what my wife ordered.Tip and all was around $37.00.I could had gotten a better meal for the price i paid.Gregg put on a very good show,Looks like he also had a cold.Moral of the review is,Hell will freeze over before Iron City gets another $200.00 out of me.

Absolutely beautiful establishment with great food, awesome bar. Attracting some outstanding acts that Birmingham is so lucky to be receiving. This place has a restaurant side and a venue side; both have a nice classy atmosphere. Due to scheduling conflicts, Ive yet to make it for a show. But there are several shows coming up that I am trying to go see. Ive yet to be disappointed by their food or service. They usually put together something amazing and creative as an off-menu dinner special. Just like everything else there, the price is always nice. The rest of their menu looks very appealing, as well. I plan to come back to this review down the road to update and build onto it. This place has continued to impress each time Ive been there. When I noticed it only had one lonely review on google, I had to at least give it a good nod. Im going to try to update this down the road and post something a bit more thorough.

This is my absolute favorite venue in Birmingham. They pull in some very good artists, some well established and others trying to get their name out. If you want an intimate setting with good sound I highly recommend Iron City. In several venues the sound can get obtrusive due to several factors; acoustics of the facility and the sound board operator not knowing how to account for this is usually the case. Never once at iron city have I felt the need to put ear plugs in. There is upstairs seating but you need to get there early or pay ahead for those. The restaurant attached to the venue is very good, but a little on the pricy side. I highly recommend getting there early enough to eat a meal, have some drinks and grab an upstairs seat if youre not in the mood for standing.

I cant say enough for Iron City. Parked within a block, bought a very affordable ticket at the door, and had the time of my life. Thanks to the combined effort of Iron City and Hippie Sabotage, I got front row, crowd surfed for the first time, partied on stage with the artist, got a free shirt (pictured), and met the band (pictured). The security and staff there were very effective but only in the most polite way. Whether it be will call or security, I was met with smiling faces, ready to help make my experience the best it could be. A lot of the experience at a concert is what you make of it, but Iron City does their job promoting your enjoyment in every way possible. From location to lineup to facilities, Iron City has everything you could want and more.

Terrific venue with some of the friendliest employees. We loved the different options from where to view a show, depending how close you want to be & if you want to sit down or stand up. We had never been here before and Melissa & Megan were so nice describing which we way we should head for our best vantage point. Were short, 51, so a little planning is necessary. Had a few drinks in the bar before the show and Tyler (bartender) was fantastic & funny. Great security, check bags & pat down. Peace of mind!! Shocking how some venues do nothing but check ID & slap an arm bracelet on you. Love Iron City & hope to return! Thanks to all the employees especially Tyler, Megan & Melissa!
