We bought three tickets($162) online two days in advance and reserved a 5 PM time slot for July 5th for Ghostbusters Dimensions at Madame Tussauds in New York. Upon arrival we were told that the online reservation system was not being used so we would have to wait in line. I asked if we could put our names on the list and go through the rest of the displays, no you have too wait in line. This was our last day of vacation in New York and my son really wanted to do it so we waited. The whole time we were waiting there were other people coming in with reservations and people who had just bought tickets. Once these people coming in found out about the wait they were not happy at all. We were told the wait would be one hour, well two hours later we finally got in. About three minutes in the system shutdown, they had to restart the system by that time my wife had enough and did not want to continue. My son and I went back through and finished the game which was very good but I was really upset about the wait. When we finished we were given a refund of that portion of the admission price. It was about three hours from the time arrived until the time that we got the refund. I was not upset with the operators this is on management if you are not going to honor the reserved times take it off the web site. If you are having technical problems and its running really slow stop selling ticket at the door without letting them know about the wait time. We have been to Disney many times, so I am used to waiting in long lines but not if I have a Fastpass. This reservation should have been our Fastpass, we will not be back or recommend it to our friends.

Four of us got the New York City Pass...when we tried to use it at Madame Tussaud the process was quite easy. We got our tickets, walked up two long flights of stairs and stood at the elevator waiting to go into the "museum." We waited.....and waited......and waited. The line behind us got longer and longer and longer. We were third in line to begin. Apparently BOTH elevators were having a problem. Finally after 15 minutes...someone began to guide people to elevators around the corner. Needless to say, we lost our spot in line and still had to wait for the elevator in a hot and crowded hallway. We left. The manager was absolutely not understanding. We walked down the stairs, telling the very nice girl at the bottom of the stairs about our problem. The manager tried to then say, "nothing is wrong with the elevator...head on back." We told him we had waited, we told him we lost our spot, we told him it was hot and crowded. He offered no apology. Just said "the elevators are working." Only after a few minutes arguing back and forth did he admit fault that there was a "slight snag" with the elevator. Deplorable handling of the situation since as we argued there were three elevators beside us and he didnt offer to take us up. He kept saying..."well what do you want me to do?" Uhhh....be nice? How about that? Like this was 9:30-10:00 in the morning. Anyways....we left and wont go back. Probably wont return at all on any day of our trip. Our saving grace was the fabulous girl at the end of the stairs and the nice girl at Circle Line cruises later on.

Disappointment. MADAME TUSSAUD IS PROBABLY ROLLING IN HER GRAVE (ASSUMING SHES DEAD, I DONT CARE ENOUGH TO GOOGLE IT) SAVE YOUR MONEYIm going to state the obvious here and say this is a tourist trap, duh. Its one of those things I did just to finally get over my fascination and intrigue I had every time I walked by this place. So happy I went because I finally realized what a WASTE OF TIME it was. I cannot believe how OUTDATED the "celebrities" were in this place. Sure there were some historical figures and famous faces like Elvis and Brad Pitt, but other than that, half of the wax figures were of people who werent even relevant and you wouldnt even want to take a picture a with.Yes, Im a fan of F. Scott Fitzgeralds writing...I really dont give two sh!ts about what he looked like. And the same goes for about 50% of the other wax figures I saw in that place. All the personas that were advertised; Britney Spears, Marie Antoinette, Tupac, Beyonce, Jennifer Aniston...Nowhere to be found. Also: TWO Marilyn Monroe wax figures, and both looked like crap. COME ON! This is the Madame Tussauds of NEW YORK not The Warehouse of the Has Beens.Side Note: Asian tourists love Nicholas Cage. Like seriously, you couldnt even get to that wax figure because it was just bombarded by them.

I came to this place exclusively to try the new VR experience made by The Void on the Ghostbusters theme. I had to pay the full 59$ package and go through all the celebrities statues before starting a 1h30 queue for the VR. What I experienced after was a underwhelming Room scale experience on a lower resolution than HTC Vive or Oculus Rift with a huge lag for both the headset and the gun. It made it impossible for me to aim anything during the session and hard to walk comfortably (much harder that with other room scale experience). When I asked why the experience was so bad and if it was a problem with my equipment, the employee told me it was just like that. It is frustrating to pay for an experience worse than any of the VR you can get at home while the reviews are saying this attraction is the future of VR. Dont do the same mistake and go to this place only if you will be happy enough to enjoy the celebrities statues.
