Among the worst VA wines weve tasted so far. Every wine on this weekends list (3/19/17) had something to distinctly dislike about it. Some were badly out of balance, due to over-oaking, too much alcohol, or both. Others were extremely thin and flavorless (vidal blanc & rosé). Another big gripe: the rosé isnt a true rosé at all, just a blend of barrel-aged merlot & stainless-tanked vidal blanc. Theres a reason real rosé isnt made this way and it shows. This is not a matter of taste; this is objective failure in quality winemaking. Their flagship wines are equally unlikeable. They compare them to wines from Bordeaux, but one can only assume no one from Lost Creek has ever been to Bordeaux - thats the only way to explain such a ridiculous comparison. The only things these wines have in common with Bordeaux wines are the varietals contained within. To add insult to injury, Lost Creek charges $40/bottle for these wines. If you sample what $40 will buy in California or France, youll quickly understand - again, speaking objectively - that Lost Creek has a lot of work to do before they can justify their prices. The tasting room is very nice, but the grounds are ho-hum. Our server was knowledgeable & personable, but it was hard to politely dodge the constant barrage of "How do you like that one?" Maybe better to just pour & describe the wines instead of putting guests on the spot for feedback. I dont like to name other businesses in my reviews, so I wont recommend competing wineries here. Ill just say that if youre looking to taste wine in NE Loudoun County (Potomac Cluster), you can do much better.

I dont know where to begin. We had our wedding at Lost Creek on 6/2/2017. From the second we stepped on the premises looking for wedding venues to the moment we stepped on the bus leaving our wedding, our experience with Lost Creek and their staff (shout out Melissa and Joanna) was nothing short of perfection. I usually try to look for an area of improvement in reviews and I can honestly think of none. As the hub for all the other vendors needed for the wedding, Lost Creek effortlessly coordinated all the behind the scenes activities essentially acting as our wedding planner. Everyone was an absolute pleasure to work with and if you dont take my word for it know that we havent stopped hearing from everyone who attended how beautiful the venue was and how smoothly the event ran. If you have a wedding between 100-200 people, and you like wine, you are making a mistake not to choose Lost Creek. Nick and Tina Vienna, VA

Loved our visit to Lost Creek on Sunday. We came for a tasting and were impressed by the atmosphere. The tasting room is gorgeous and you can tell they probably do events here throughout the year. The person who did our tasting just moved from Oregon and was so nice to talk to. She was knowledgeable about the wines she presented and was really enthusiastic about Virginia wines. We ended up sitting outside and enjoying a cheese plate (why they didnt get five stars) and a glass of wine on the patio. The cheese plate was a little lacking and we did not get an explanation of what the cheeses were. The wines were really nice. One of us got the premier tasting and the other the classic. Both were great and highlighted the wines . Definitely worth checking out.

My friends and I went to Lost Creek this weekend for a friends birthday party and had a wonderful time. Their white wines and dessert wines are delicious and unique. The staff is super friendly and seems legitimately excited when large groups arrive. They also offer discounts for military and for buying 3 or more bottles of wine. We went to Tarara after Lost Creek, a winery that has a reputation for being the best in this corridor and were disappointed by the prices and wine selection.

The new owners, Todd and Aimee, have done wonderful things for the wines. They are making substantial changes to the vineyard and the wines so the their wines are becoming top-notch NOVA wines. The tasting room is relaxing and weve always had great interaction with the employees and owners. The events are fun, and its great that they partner with other local companies for events - The Wine Kitchen, and Moms Apple Pie to name a few.

My sister and I visited their Vineyard over a weekend recently and were very pleased with both the wines and the staff! They have a beautiful location and the staff is quite friendly and warm. We even stayed and chatted for a bit and purchased several bottles of wine. The Vineyard House is beautifully decorated and offers a pleasant and sophisticated location either for an afternoon of winetasting have some form of a social event.

I need to get back to Lost Creek for another visit but Ive enjoyed the two visits that Ive made so far. The winery was under different ownership the second time I stopped in and the atmosphere definitely seemed more welcoming. The winery itself has a nice upscale feeling but still somewhat homey. The outdoor patio area seems like a wonderful place to hang out and relax for a while with a glass.

The winery is lovely and they offer a fairly large collection of original pieces of art. The wine is immature though. The Merlot offered during tasting was only a month in the bottle and I highly doubt it would be good if left to age more that 24 months. The only bright spot in the tasting was the "ice" wine which was delicate and delightful. That I would recommend it and dump the rest.

Really nice place. Can enjoy indoors or 3 different patios outside. Very peaceful. Wife and I loved 2 of their red blends: Trinity and Provenance. And Lost Creek has the best food menu of anybody in the area. We loved their Slider Trio sandwiches. We will go back and try more. Somebody else recently gave them a bad review; I think that person got mixed up where they were.

It was horrible because we went with my brother and his younger kids and the new owners said that the cant play soccer or frisbee with there friends. The wine was very good but the atmosphere was bad with kids. If you want to go I would go only with adults. The place was very romantic for a wedding and a nice place to take you family.

I had my first wine tasting ever while on a "sister day" with my older sister. We had so much fun and I learned alot. It was not pretentious at all and the patio was just amazing to sit and listen to the musician playing acoustic guitar. I enjoyed the atmosphere and I would surely go again to taste and buy more wine.

This is one of our favorite two wineries in Virginia. Every wine is well crafted and balenced: our favorites are the Provenance, Serenity, Trinity, and Rose. You should stop by for a wine and truffle tasting, the occassional lobster pairing, or just to enjoy some live music on the patio in the summer.

Amazing venue with a upstairs view that is fantastic. Several white wines among a large selection of red ones. They also pair wine with small sample foods and that helped a lot to be in out the flavor of both the wines and food. Would come.baxk again as the tasting menu changes every month.

Beautiful place, wine is good for most tastes. Had one member of the staff (at the register who was rude) but made up for by a wonderful host who gave us a great tasting at a table. Also has a very warm environment inside and a beautiful outdoor area.
