Much of the area is a nice tree and grassy area, with various trails twisting and turning around the area. Good area for hiking/jogging. Various spots for just sitting and enjoying the views, or picnicking. Jordan Creek twisting in and around the area is good for splashing around, or even in some spots good for short hikes up or down the middle of it for a refreshing jaunt on warmer days (not to mention the Ford crossing for driving through the creek). A few spots for somewhat level hiking/jogging, but many trails can be rather hilly. The hilly trails would be good for getting your heart and lungs pumping more in a short time and breaking a good sweat. The little bit of more level areas would be good for biking (all though they could use some kind of easier access to loop around for the trail that goes up around the north end of the zoo towards one of the covered bridges), and they have some areas designated as mountain biking trails, but you need to be well in shape and very skilled in dealing with steeper hills and possible rough spots. Some trails arent quite as visible as you might hope. One section currently has mostly barren hillsides, which appear like remains of trees/brush were torn down and broken up and scattered about, which attributes to some trails not being very visible, and is not very attractive. Hopefully theyll work on cleaning it up a tiny bit real soon, and planting little clusters of native trees, bushes, and perennials to help fill it in and make it look more natural and get some of those trails more defined.

Great multi-use park. Lots of running/hiking and mountain biking trails. The big game wildlife is very unique and something not usually seen while hiking in PA. There are also great views of the area all over the property. One thing to note: some trails do not have much shade, especially the trexler boarder trail. If youre going for a long outing on a hot day, make sure to read the trail descriptions on the trail map. It gets very hot!

As of summer 2017... The trails near the Jordan Creek are the nicest. Much of the northern area of the preserve has been stripped of vegetation leaving it mostly bare. The county is attempting to eliminate an invasive tree that had taken over; wild olive tree. Unfortunately, it makes the place look terrible. Trails in the north are gradually being repaired or relocated.

They have really made the a nice place to visit since I was a kid. This is what used to be called the Trexlertown Game Preserve. The penguins and the otters are very entertaining and the setting for the zoo itself is majestic. Nestled away in the outskirts of the Lehigh Valley, this zoo is a small treasure. We try to visit a few time s a year while the kids are young.

Smoothest mountain biking trail network in Northeastern Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley. Largely cross-country style singletrack. "Halfpipe," "Kill Dozer," and "Broken Arrow" are one-way downhill trails. Small jumps, rollers, berms. Elsewhere, a deceptive amount of climbing. Parking is available in a lot on N. Range Utility Road, and at spots along Game Preserve Rd.

Some random guy hiking in my forest told me to go here and hike, so of course I did. What a great trail system and such a unique contour of the land. Very steep hills with the Jordan Creek winding its way around. Bison, Elk, and other fun sights along the trails, creek crossings, etc. If you live anywhere near here, get over and take a hike.

Fun forde you can drive over, my friends and I take the kids to the creek to fish, swim, catch frogs. Its a free day outdoors. And I will get portraits done on the bridge. It is that nice and drive by the free range bison and elk on the way iut, along with the chestnut orchard and the stunning views of the valley.

Nice zoo, close to home, and clean. They have added additional animals since our last visit. Feeding Murphy the giraffe was a great experience. We also got to brush the goats and the very best is playing in the creek on the ride out after a nice picnic lunch. Im so happy to have this zoo in our community.

This is one of my favorite places to visit in the valley. The trails are very well maintained and there isnt a bad view in the whole park. Coming here offers such different and beautiful experiences during each season. If youve never been here I would highly recommend it.

Perfect get-a-way for a few hours. Kids & I both love it. A few times we grab towels pick up pizzas and enjoy a pizza picnic and of course the water. Also great hiking trails, wonderful views. The nature area is free, the zoo is reasonable for the kids and for events.

We love coming here on the weekends. Park is very well kept, and the animals all look healthy. My personal favorites are the prairie dogs and the penguins. The preserve is not usually crowded, but the price seems a bit high for the amount of things to do in this "zoo"

Its a great little zoo. The animals look well taken care of. The reptile house was interesting. The Penguins and the giraffe are great. I liked the lynx and bobcat. I enjoyed all of the birds. Like I said a great little zoo.

Good for smaller children. Your not going to see lots of bigger animals. Everything is close and theres lots of shade. Did is a bit pricey for what it is bit thats to be expected.

The mountain biking trails are excellent! Youve got to be in shape for the uphills, but the excellent downhills are very worth it! Fast, flowy, with lots of jumps and berms!

Its rather small, but its a nice clean zoo. Its also closer and cheaper than going to the Philadelphia zoo, but there arent nearly as many exhibits.

Its an inexpensive day out. Its large enough to not be bored yet small enough to walk around and not be completely exhausted when youre finished.

Very nice place for being in the Lehigh valley. Pricey for a small zoo though. Philly zoo isnt much more and is 20xs the size

Lots of great hiking trails and top notch MTB trails. Lots of climbing on the MTB trails but the descents are worth it.

Great place to bring the family for a walk through the woods or through their Zoo. Season passes are worth buying.
