I recently attended Cirque du soleil at the events center. I was appalled. When we arrived there was no clear direction on where to go and what to do. When you asked for assistance they acted as if it was common knowledge and you should know better. We had someone with us who didnt walk very well so we sat her at the food court and got her a drink. When we found out where to go, it was back outside on the upper level. We asked if it was okay for her to bring her beverage with her and they said as long as we purchased it at the center we could. however when we brought her up to the upper level they made us throw it away. They took my camera but let me keep my camera phone. We had two four year old children with us. We bought them bottles of water and they threw away our caps. We asked why we couldnt have our caps they told us because people throw them down on the floor at the games. We were not there for a college event and I didnt want the water spilled all over the person sitting in front of us so we didnt get any beverages. 15 minutes into the show the ushers were still making entire rows stand up to let people into the rows instead of directing them around to the other side closer to their seats. I have no idea what was happening the first part of the show. Yes the building is beautiful, however the policies are ridiculous and the staff needs training in customer service.

Awful. I was there for Green Day this past Saturday, and while I was there over an hour before they came on, I still ended up missing the beginning of the show. I waited 45 minutes for a tshirt and my mom waited over an hour for one drink at the concessions. It is so poorly managed its shocking. Thanks for nearly ruining my night because of your lazy workers and poor management. It took the lady at the register 15 freaking minutes to pour 3 beers, grab a bucket of already-prepared popcorn, and ring it up. Pathetic. Get MORE people who will work FAST. Not these lazy idiots who stroll to the fridge then stroll back to the register, and take their time punching in the order. The sound system sucks, parking sucks.. Everything about this venue sucks. There was something spilled under our seats when we got there and the entire floor under us was sticky. Clean your venue, maybe? If you have a disability, forget about going to anything here. Youll have to hike Mt. Everest to get to this place. Never going back here. EVER.

Petersen is a pretty great venue for events but there is not enough parking in the immediate area. We came here for a performance of Cirque du Soleil in the evening and the only options for parking were in the garages which were almost full, and on the side streets, which were far from the venue. Meanwhile the permit-only Pitt lots near the Petersen were empty. I think Pitt should allow evening parking in some of their lots when there is a big event at the Petersen. Also, the entrance lines are way too long. I arrived early and still had to wait in a giant security line which wrapped down onto the up-escalators. A crowd was collecting near the top of the escalator- this is extremely dangerous! I had to direct people to move out of the way so the crowd wouldnt be chewed up by the escalator. People had nowhere to move and it was chaos.

LETS GO PITT!!! I wish the Pete had been around when I was in college. Unfortunately it was still under construction and we had graduation at Mellon Arena instead. Too bad because this is a great venue and wouldve been a nice place to have graduation. Ive come here for numerous Pitt basketball games as well as a Kanye West concert. Sight lines for basketball are pretty good everywhere in the place. Ive had seats at the absolute further row back and "good" seats on the corners and been ok with both. In addition, the exercise facility is pretty top notch for students. Sure beats trudging all the way up to Trees Hall like we had to back in the day.

Nice venue! Cant imagine Pitt basketball being played anywhere else. The only reason I knocked it a star is accessibility. If you are driving into the area, parking may be hard to find. The Center is located on a hill and there is plenty of parking within a 1/2 mile radius but walking to/from it can be challenging, especially for people with disability/trouble walking. Traffic can also be bad depending on time of day. Overall though the Center is beautiful, has good food options, and great games and entertainment.

I went here for a graduation ceremony. It was very large and well maintained. The bathrooms were clean and plentiful. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. My grandmother needed a wheelchair and they were right there to provide assistance. I would strongly recommend this place for a large event.

I have been here for multiple events, concerts, job fairs and college graduation. It is a great building! This stadium also has the largest fitness center on Pitt campus, so I go there to work out and attended fitness classes during the summer. Beware of the food... It is way overpriced!

The website is poorly done. It doesnt have a calendar listing of the events in each area by the date. It does have the list of Artists but that is so tedious. To try to find whats there for a particular date for instance this Saturday. Really a waste of time. This site sucks.

The best fitness center is located inside! Baierl, the biggest fitness for the University of Pittsburgh, is inside the Petersen. I would say it is a terrific place for exercising. A number of courses are provided for different levels of students. Staff are nice and helpful.

Good venue. Went to see Meghan Trainor there. Good size for foe her it wasnt to crowed. They had a great area after to meet her. Of course the food was way overly priced but you get that anywhere. Everything was very clean. There was easy in and out. Overall good experience

Nice aesthetically pleasing facility overall. Vicinity of parking is manageable, but less so for those who have difficulties walking long distances. Insufficient number of bathrooms and stalls for the size of the venue. Seats are roomy and relatively comfortable.

Pitt facility with the main gym, gymnasium for large sporting and cultural events, and smaller workout rooms and dance rooms. You can buy Pitt merchandise, tickets, and a quick bite to eat all in the same space. Staff is friendly and the space is clean.

Pretty good acoustics for a concert, but the concourse is laid out terribly. The staff were very unprofessional and pushy, with the exception of the concessions staff. Overall, would see another concert here, due to size and acoustics.

Good place, but no replacement for Pitt Stadium, especially considering were not really a basketball school, or even a football school at this point in time. Still, good games and better concerts; the food is rather ridiculously priced.

Went for a concert. The layout is a little confusing and if you dont like steps you will not like this arena! Mass exiting of the crowd up all the stairs was a little unsettling. If someone yelled "fire" there would be a catastrophe.
