Great store great selection and prices! My partner and I go there all the time to get fish and supplies for out fresh and now saltwater aquarium. We have been going to the Reef for about 4 years now and have seen all the lows and highs they have. Their customer service when we first started was very poor but they have and are still trying to revamp that work and build on it and have been improving very greatly. They have several great employees that are extremely knowledgeable on saltwater or freshwater hobbies. They do have some that are not quite knowledgeable but they tend to find out no matter what from the others if you have any questions. They do not offer a guarantee on their fish unless the fish come with a guarantee from their supplier. But if you get a fish and it dies in the bag or within the day and bring in a water sample they sometimes or will replace the fish or give you credit for the store. Only negative things I have to say is they tend to need more help in the fish room some days because they get hammered and you might find it hard to get a fish or coral or something you want. Other than that this is an extremely great place to go for salt or freshwater aquarium hobbies. Is also a great place just to go if you have kids with all the varieties of fish its like going to a free aquarium! Little kids absolutely love it in there every time I have taken my little brother and any other children.

Brought my 8 yr old son in ... We have 2 goldfish which was told to the associate helping us. So we asked to see fish compatible with goldfish which she proceeded to show us.... or so we thought... MY son picked out his fish ... then we decided to get a larger tank to go with the new fish and the gold fish... I was told to take the tank home and set it up then return for the fish...made some sense. Problems occur when we go to get the fish my wife finds out that the fish chosen are not compatible with the gold fish and the gold fish will kill the other Glow fish... The other issue is that the girl never told us we needed a special light and heater for the glow fish to make them glow.. Manager was nice enough to trade me the 2 gold fish for another glow fish.. But I now own 2 tanks Because I had to buy another tank with the proper lighting and heater so the fish would actually glow. When I asked what I should do with the 12 hour old tank I bought the previous day I was told to sell it on Craigslist and did not even get any kind of a discount on the new tank or supplies.. So my 55 dollar venture ended up costing me 150 dollars all because of a girl who thought she knew something... Oh well we live and we learn.. There are other places to buy fish I am sure

We just got our fish last week and already are down 3. I understand that you lose fish... however we were told a beautiful yellow fish would get along great with our others... only to find her pecking and destroying our fish. Since i am sensitive to seeing other fish getting hurt -- you can imagine the predictament this weekend! We had to remove all of our plants to finally get her out and when I called around 6:50 on a Sunday to let them know and ask for advice I was put on hold for 15 minutes only to call back to find nobody answering b/c it was closed! I cant bring myself to go back here b/c i am furious of the bloodshed that went on in my tank this weekend!I went to another aquarium -- where I got great advice -- and they took the yellow RED DEVIL off my hands and gave me credit towards another oscar. The guy couldnt believe they told us that the red devil is a great fish with the others. I guess we could have researched more before buying -- but i would hope that I could go into a fish store where they could know the basics of what goes with what.

I am happy to see that others are noticing the rapid DECLINE in what used to be one of the very best LFS around. The staff has been turned over to people who cant even identify the simplest of saltwater fish (I test them before I trust them to catch and pack). I asked last week if they ever get MAC certified chromis in and the response was, "what is that?". Three separate tanks had dead fish along with healthy and I pointed out only to be ignored! As far as Dry Goods, you can find the best of most products here which is why I still frequent now and then. Dont even think of buying coral here as I also notified of two acropora specimens that had RTN halfway up the frag again to be asked, "whats RTN?". I hope this is a wakeup call to Ziggy to get his business back where it used to be as I miss the old Hidden Reef. If looking for great coral, head to Malvern and Mike at what was the Frazer Zoo, now owned by Mike under new name but still comes up under search for Frazer Zoo.

Best way to describe this place is to combine a Wal-Mart, an aquarium specialty store and a Chuck e Cheese. Most the staff are young and just "work there". There are a couple people that seem to know their stuff, its just making sure that you know enough to make sure your taking advice from somebody who knows more......dont get what Im saying.....you will. This place is excellent for dry goods such as chems, plumbing and filter media. Electrical stuff is OK and probably better suited for amazon. Very good selection of driftwood, rocks, live rock etc....worth coming here due to shipping costs online. The actual fish....thats a gamble. Ive had good luck and bad luck, fish factory down the road is better. Also, there R/O water blows....better off buying a small system for 70 bucks on ebay. If your into aquariums, worth checking out, very big place, just be careful what you buy. Their return policy is garbage, store credit only after 24 hours.

The guy at Petsmart suggested I try here for saltwater fish. Im new to the area, but figured Id do that instead of online. The reviews were mixed, but I figured the recommendation was worth it. Apparently not. We went to get fish on a Friday, and had a hard time even getting one of several people working there to help us. There did seem to be a lot of sick or dead fish. We bought 2 fish and headed home. The first fish died Saturday. The other fish died the next day. Both fish dead by Sunday afternoon, but water tested just fine. I called to see if they had any kind of guarantee on the fish (so many places do), and the guy said "if it was only a day or so, maybe they could, but since it was slightly over a day, no". I offered to let them test my water, but nope. So, I tried to go buy local instead of ordering from a major retailer, and it totally backfired. Horrible customer service, sick fish, and they wont ever see my face again.
