If you havent been to Stage on Herr at HMAC, you are missing out on a true hidden gem in Harrisburg. Although Open Mic night on Wednesday is one of my favorite nights, this art and music venue is consistent at booking some amazing talent from the us and from around the world. Holly and Justin are just two of the brilliant team of bartenders who are friendly and true mixologists, who have a knack for making serious adult beverages. Patrons are all ages, open minded and eclectic, and in general a collective of hip funsters who add to the charm and experience. Go often to check the art - I have purchased several pieces here from local artists, and the best part is that the proprietors John and Gary do not take any commission - 100% goes to the artist. When entering HMAC youll feel like you have stepped into a loft art and music space youd normally find in Brooklyn, Portland, Seattle, or even Stockholm. One word of caution - sound checks can be sometimes brutal. If you arrive during a sound check (sometimes 7ish??), dont leave. Just have a drink and realize the loud tweaking is a necessary evil that passes after a few minutes.

Food good, good selection, clean and comfortable. Easily accessible and great for parties...That being said. I was holding off on my review on account of pretentious female bartender getting ready to leave. I hope everyone who goes there is Treated better than I...And i very rarely have poor service. Im not sure if she had hemoroids or what but that person would never be the face of my company. Treated me as though I might be paying in pocket lint. Only to be saved by the atmosphere and Mr Kevin(I think)...The plaid shirted thick frame glasses wearing smile that came to my rescue.i had 1 beer and tipped her 5 bucks...She wasnt worth the lint.

Amazing and fun place to eat and get entertainment. This is a Jewel of Harrisburg pennsylvania. Has a hipster feel. Have the Brisket French fries.. Food selection is eclectic but fun. Go and chill at the HMAC.. SAY HIGH TO THE FRIENDLY STAFF.. YOU MIGHT LEARN SOMETHING FROM THEM..THIS PLACE IS VERY TRANSGENDER FRIENDLY.. IF YOU DRINK GREAT BEER SELECTION...CRAFT BEERS AND GREAT COCKTAILS..

Great place for dinner and a show. This is a venue well suited for both local and national acts. With a separate restaurant away from the live music crowd, this would be a great place to spend a casual date night. The only shortfall is the lack of parking. As far as I know, its street parking only.

Great venue beautiful building. My only issue was that Id be standing waiting for a drink at the bar for several minutes and despite the bartender seeing me he would wait on others who just walked up after me. Perhaps they were friends. A little frustrating but overall a nice evening.

Outsiders bar with a lot of regular patrons, lots of entertainment, and a community atmosphere. Very artsy and liberal. Located in a renovated JCC with three main sections including "stage on herr", restaurant/kitchen section and large second floor venue.

Wednesday is open mike night at the Stage on Herr bar in the HMAC. I just went for the first time and was highly surprised and impressed. The music was some of the best that I have ever experienced!! How wonderful to have this new facility in H-burg!

Brought my little girl down last Saturday to meet with some friends and have dinner- We had a wonderful time! Everyone so friendly and the Veggie Burger and Fries was truly the best Ive ever had! I mean it..GREAT FOOD! Thank you all!!!

Share the truffle fries (which are excellent) with a couple of friends. The service was fast and they have a great selection of beers on tap and bottled. The place was fairly empty at 8:30 on a Friday night but picked up around 10.

The environment is the most unique in the area. The giant bartender with dready hair was super attentive and friendly, Unlike the a server we started with. The food was good bar food. Nothing special sticks out but nothing is bad.

This place is great. Its a chill bar and a great venue for not only entertainment but also for community events. The staff here is usually great, but the people you will meet here are even better. I met some real cool ladies here.

The stage is great. Its a smoke free environment and the karaoke has a wide selection. Just be aware that most of the patrons are straight people who have a habit of glaring and invading queer groups personal space.

Cool vibe and mostly great music played in the restaurant and at Stage on Herr. Bartenders arent very helpful...cater to "regulars" and friends too much, ignoring the other patrons. Little knowledge of beers, too.

Great bohemian feel to the place. All walks of life get together under this roof. Great, unique food options. My favorite is the cheese steak fries. Barcrawler Karaoke on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 till 2.

Kind of a dump location for performances. The bathroom lock was broken, drinks were sub par. Went to see one specific band, otherwise would not frequent at all.
