As a customer attending a show, the Champ is a great venue. Its a large area with great sound and lights, and it puts on a great show thats available to all ages and in theory supports local bands by putting them on bills with larger touring artists in the scene. However, as a musician who has played at the Champ 3 times I can tell you that working with them is a nightmare. Their policy that forces you to sell a minimum number of tickets seems necessary enough to cover the venues ass, but you quickly realize that they add 6+ bands to a show just to guarantee that they make a profit. This wouldnt be so unreasonable if the policy was kept consistent but every time weve been told something different "keep the money from any tickets you sell over the minimum" only to find come the day of the show that the venue wanted to take that profit too. Another time we were told we would receive a percentage (which wasnt revealed to me) of every ticket we sold, including those going towards our minimum sales. That show was canceled though, for seemingly no reason after the venue went back on their statement that the show would go on with only 3 bands on the bill. They refused to offer any statement to the fans about what happened and when we asked they said "Too many bands dropped the show" when no band had dropped from their commitment. When everything is said and done, Im not trying to say this venue is completely corrupt and evil, just that significant measures should be taken to communicate with bands on what their policy is, and make sure we are aware of what is going on with the shows at all time.

It has an "underground" feel, and I love it. Its not the prettiest place, and thats awesome because it actually has character. Youd never know it was here unless you were on your way to it. Great staff, great setup, great everything.

Venue is small, probably the hottest place you have ever been in and packed in like sardines but tickets are cheap and you get to be really close to the bands. Its really close if you live in the harrisburg area.

Meh, cant drink alcohol in this little room that isnt well ventilated. They have candy and water tho. The bathroom was well kept.

Says show is 10$ at the door and we got here and then you say its 15$. Ps you need to clean the outside of the building.

AWESOME place to go see a show. They get decent bands as the tickets are always cheap. Great place!
