HORRIBLE SERVICE. Went for wine tasting and after paying at the register you are directed to go to the side bar. While at the side bar patiently waiting, the connoisseur greets my friend and I with "Did you pay?" and all others with thank you for coming and wine glasses.Thinking nothing of it our response was yes. The guy then walks off and prepares the placing for everyone except for us. After traveling such a distance to get to the vineyard we began to rationalize his actions and informed the guy that we are here as well for wine tasting may we have a glass. The individual gives my friend and I a piece of paper with a list of wines and ask again "Did you pay", now we are at the point realizing he does not want to service us. My friends responds once again "Yes we have paid" and the guy walks off as if he was preparing to get our wine glasses, but yet he begins pouring wine for everyone except for my friend and I. What topped off everything, another couple joins and right away the guy brings wine glasses and the list of wines and start pouring the other couple wine. By now we are completely upset of how we were treated and we left. Clearly this was an act of discrimination, with being the only 2 African American females at the tasting you can not think any different for the reason that we were treated this way.

Took the basic tour of the winery (small peak at the vines from the parking lot, down into the cellar to check out the wine making operations and then on to the tasting). I wasnt too impressed with the tour portion of our visit but they have the wine tasting down to an art! In a beautiful, airy art gallery on the 2nd floor of the castle, we got to taste 13 different kinds of wine (more than the 10 listed in the brochure), including the delicious Alpine Spice (served warm-tastes like apple pie!). The winemaker who led our tasting (David?) was informative and hilarious, suggesting the best pairings for each wine and tips to impress your friends with your wine knowledge. As someone who prefers sweet, white wine, I wasnt looking forward to trying any dry reds but I have to admit, I liked everything I tried. After the tasting, we headed down to the bar for a glass of our favorite wine and a complimentary meat and cheese plate. We then wandered about outside for a bit, enjoying the beautiful views of the valley, the vines and the Delaware River below. Already thinking about heading back for the First Crush party in September.

My husband and I received a groupon for tour, wine tasting & picnic. The wording on the groupon said that it had 2 values: 1) for promotional picnic package mentioned previously and 2) value of the amount paid by recipient, which was $21. Since we did not wish to partake of the picnic package, we arrived at winery to use $21 toward the purchase of wine. We were told that we could ONLY use groupon for package although the small print clearly stated "for products or service". We were not happy. The manager was summoned and again, we were told that we could use $21 toward purchase of wine. This isnt our first encounter with this place. We were guests at a wedding a few years back and trying to get a glass of wine was like pulling teeth. We all had to wait on a long line to get a glass (half full, I might add). Everyone started ordering 2 or 3 at a time. I would NOT recommend anyone going to this rip-off establishment.

Although there was no one to greet us the moment we walked inside (we were greeted warmly by who we found out was the winemaker outside) and we wandered inside a bit, it was 11 am in the middle of the week. We were greeted by a staff member after a few minutes and checked in. We were the only couple scheduled on the tour but had another couple join us. Yes, the tour is quick but our guide Magda was very informative and seeing the wine cellar was very cool. The tasting was a lot of fun, twelve wines in total (plus a little sample of their port) and you keep your glass. Magda was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of goods information as we tasted the wines along with some food pairings. I’ve visited wineries in Sonoma and Napa and they tend to feel very commercial. Sand Castle Winery was much more cozy, personal and fun. The wines were very nice, good variety, as well and reasonably priced.

View is great, but everything else needs quite a bit of work. The wines are a bit too strong on alcohol seeming like they havent matured fully? Charcuterie board was not recommended by the server but we were hungry so we ordered anyway. Came on paper plates...cheese was good and salami as well, but the rest could have been better. And especially better presented. Even just proper serving dishes would have silenced my criticism. Final critique is the server said Golden Pheasant (where we had reservations just down the hill) was BYOB. Theyre not. Perhaps just trying to get us to buy a bottle? Also, the Golden Pheasant doesnt seem to have a good relationship with the Winery, which seems like a no-brainer from a business standpoint considering their proximity.

We held our daughters wedding reception at Sand Castle Winery this weekend. It was like a fairytale come true with perfect weather, grapes on the vines, the aroma of a fresh harvest, photo shoot in the barrel room, dinner, dancing, and lots of fun. Winemaker and owner, Joseph, was an amazing host. He welcomed us personally and set up a beautiful bridal preparation room upstairs. Working with Open Aire Affairs, this winery was the perfect setting for a perfect day.

Came for farthers day. 16 family members. Thought the wrist bands were tacky. Food was sparse, no condiments on tables, ran out of dinner size plates, used dessert size plates. Did not remove soiled plates from tables for entire time we were there. Ran out of sangria. Not so much as a piece of fruit for desert. Very disappointing for $40.00 Will NOT return and certainly not recommend to any one for any occasion.

The wine you taste, and the bottles you buy are nowhere near the same. I bought four bottles, and had to dump them all when l got them home. Two of the bottles completely turned to vinegar. Plus the experience isnt nice at all. Its a very weird set up. The whole place looks more like a banquet hall then a winery. Honestly one of the worst places Ive been to...

Dropped in for a tasting and enjoyed it thoroughly. There are a nice variety of wines to try, and the staff member was very knowledgeable about them all. The tasting was $10 for about a dozen wines, plus souvenir glasses, which we considered to be an excellent value.

Went for a tasting and loved the wine, as well as the gentleman that served us during the tasting. I didnt catch his name but he was very knowledgeable on all the wines as well as what they paired with. By using a Groupon deal, it was very affordable as well.

Beautiful place and setting. Wonderful wine tasting. I highly recommended the Alpine Spice wine as a great October wine for Halloween or with turkey at Thanksgiving. It even tastes delicious heated. I heat mine in the crockpot.
