Bad Genie is one of my friends and Is favorite bar to hit on the weekends. Most of the time were there until bar close. Their bartenders are nice and quick to service you, the dance floor upstairs is usually full of people, and the security there is really helpful. The atmosphere is great, everyone is carefree and dancing. There is even an upstairs balcony with tables for smokers or people who just need to get some air, which is better than having to exit the bar. I would normally give this place 5 stars, because even in getting my phone stolen the staff was INCREDIBLY helpful. I ended up getting my phone back the next day (an iPhone 7 plus) which was phenomenal. However, last night and a few Saturdays in a row they have had a new DJ that has absolutely sucked. Its the same boring beat over and over again, you know, the "boots and cats" beat. No instrumentals, lyrics, nothing but a boring beat over and over again. Ive noticed a HUGE difference while this DJ is working, while bad Genie is usually crowded and the dance floor overflowing with people dancing like Crazy.... there is barely anyone there and no one is dancing. This has happened twice now and both times we left to go to different bars with a dance floor... and better music. Hopefully they get rid of this guy and go back to the usual stuff, because I miss bad genie!!!! Otherwise, Amazing place!

Honestly I go there a lot and I will never step foot in there again! my boyfriends identity got stolen by one of the bartenders and they charged 3206 dollars in bit coins which is untraceable money. They did this by either taking a picture of the card or writing down the numbers when paying for one round of drinks! We called in the morning and tried to talk to someone they said they would look into within the week no sense of emergency or concern so now the police taking care of it! Every bartender is SHADY! There is no consistency with prices or any sense of being a professional business I hope this place gets shut down and karma comes back and kicks these people in the ass

Went out the other night. Experienced exactly what everyone else has experienced. They first overcharged me on my tab and I called them out and they adjusted it and because they adjusted, I was kind enough to tip them well. I checked my online banking today and am seeing that they ran a second charge at some point?!!?! Immediately Im calling them left and right and no one ever picks up.

dont ever leave your wallet here because the staff has never once answered a phone call, no one has ever emailed me back and I cant get inside without my ID (thats in my wallet) to check to see if someone at the bar turned it in. Would not recommend to anyone after the way Ive been ignored.

DO NOT give your credit card to these people! They charge you whatever they want, whenever they want, and will tell you theres nothing they can do when you ask for a receipt of the charges. Spare yourself considerable frustration, you have been warned!

Not a bad place for a beer but never open a tab there, the girl bar tender charged up $120+ on my card after I left. So if you like not being able to trust anyone there or you want to deal in cash go for it, I wont go back...

Average place, some nights it is fun and other nights its just some boring dj playing random beats all night. Those nights I just walk out the door. Kind of an interesting crowd there and not the most social people either

Decent bar with a good size dance floor upstairs along with a balcony. Sometimes service is a bit slow at the bar and Ive seen prices change for drinks depending which bartender you talk to, but a fun place nonetheless.

Wednesdays, they have djs upstairs and downstairs and $4 40 oz Pabst Blue Ribbons. Place is legit af. Make sure youre theyre there before 11 if you dont wanna stand in line tho. Awesome bartenders and staff.

Came here on a Monday....random thing to do....very surprised, in a good way. Awesome feel, great prices, attractive people, and best of all a sweet porch and a dj that knows what he is doing.

Great location in downtown Milwaukee neighborhood. Great entertainment value -- the bands are great and the ambiance is very cool. Loads of fun and very nice people. Two floors and great music.

Real cool place. If you like to dance, this is a good spot. Wanted to try the scorpion shot, but unfortunately their supplier ran out of scorpions.
