I had a bad first experience here and because of that I will not be back and I definitely would not recommend it to others, at least for dining. Food was mediocre to poor, but the one thing that really turned us off was the bad service. Our waitress was accommodating, sat us wherever we wanted to be seated, and approached us in a timely manner to take down our order. We were starving and wanted to get started with an appetizer, so we ordered their "best in the city" chicken wings with buffalo sauce. We waited, and waited...and waited. While we waited, our waitress was seated a few tables away from us chatting with either a customer or another waitress. Boyfriend was cranky from hunger and his crankiness started getting me cranky. Finally, food comes from one of the guys (assuming cook) in the back. Our entrees were placed in front of us, but not the wings. We let him know, he interrupts the seated waitress from her conversation, and she scurries to the back. We wait a few minutes more and finally get our wings. When asked if the order for the wings was put in, she just told us that it was, but a rush of people came up to the rooftop because it started getting nice out and the cook was really busy. No apologies, just excuses. Never did she come back to ask us how the food was or if we needed anything. She was actually by one of the registers off to our side, on her phone while it was plugged into the wall. She certainly was more attentive to her phone than to us. We had to flag her down to get a knife for the burger and then for the bill. As for the food... I was really craving nachos and decided to order them as an entree. However, these were the worst nachos Ive ever had in my entire life. Tortillas were really greasy, meat and melted cheese were dry and tasteless, tomatoes were slushy, and I couldnt find any onion. My high school cafeteria did a better job with nachos and I found myself longing for them instead of his pile of disgust. The only thing I enjoyed on the plate were the japalenos. I felt like I was eating crunchy, rubbery grease with jalapenos. I think I forced myself to eat about an eighth of the entire dish...what a waste of $12.50!! The buffalo wings were decent in size but I didnt think they were the citys best. They tasted like typical hot wings to me. It was as if they were tossed once in some kind of hot sauce and served to us. The burger was alright. After the unsatisfying food, we actually went to another restaurant in Little Italy. Total let-down!

I visited Reggies for the first time during a hip hop/open mic showcase. There were 2 sides. The music venue and the restaurant. After paying and checking in on the music venue side, me and my party proceeded to get food and drinks on the other side. Decent food, terrible service. The bartender made a point to tell us about his "worst" customer. And after closing my $41.05 tab and leaving a $4 tip, the bartender made it his business to call out my tip to the entire bar. How embarassing right? To me, 10% was more than enough especially since more than half of the bill was food that he neither prepared or served. These bartenders kill me expecting customer to pay their rent. His service wasnt exceptional but it was just enough for me to round my bill to the nearest $5 dollar. After he viewed the bill, this azz hole proceeded to hoop and holler about the amount. Ive never seen such unprofessionalism in my life. He not only embarrassed me, he made himself look ridiculous as other customers who ended up next door at the show told me they didnt tip him at all. If Reggies management is reading this, I hope they give their bartenders a stern lesson. Not even at Dicks would I expect such dick-ish service. When I get the guys name I will be sure to update this post. Because of this experience I will try my best to tell others to avoid this place at all costs.

Probably everyone who lives on the Southside, especially the South Loop, has been to Reggies at one point in their life. Its a place known for its concerts, cheap drink and lunch specials and its outdoor rooftop. If you go to Reggies with anything over the expectation of getting drunk for cheap, hanging out with friends or playing pool, then you may be disappointed. Otherwise its perfect for those 3 things. They usually have some type of wing special on certain days (.50 cent wings) and the wings are pretty good (very good at that price). And they have drafts and basically any other cheap liquor you want. I wouldnt go here trying to order some 40 year old Cognac. Bartenders are real cool but when this place gets packed (and it gets packed), they are overworked seriously. Waiters/waitresses too. Thats probably the only real negative. Trying to get a table after 5 in the summer on a workday may be a real problem. And because its so packed, you may have to track your waitress down to get your orders in. Wanna go, hang with some neighborhood hipsters and get blasted for cheap, hit Reggies. Wanna drink a 30 yr old scotch and talk about the stock market, go elsewhere.

When Reggies first opened, I was all about it. I was happy to see a lot of my favorite punk bands there. I was happy that it was on the South Side (closer to me), parking was easy, that it was one of the few venues of which I knew to allow re-entry and that if I wasnt digging an opener, I could head upstairs to check out the record store. But the prices on the record store went up steadily, to the point where its ridiculous to think anyone buys anything up there in this day and age (read: used albums priced higher than a reasonable new album). At one point, they stopped the re-entry, except for a small area out front for smokers. And I havent seen as many bands booked there that I like. I also brought in a box of music to trade in for cash once, and was told that there is only one person who can do that (I drove from the suburbs). I called back to find when he would be in again, drove downtown again, only to find out he was first tied up. I killed an hours getting breakfast. Then I came back and apparently he was in a different part of the building but didnt want to deal with it. That was the last straw with Reggies, as far as I was concerned.

Clara And Danielle were horrible and disrespectful hostess. Ive never experienced a situation like this before in my life.coming to this restaurant/bar. My sisters and I was judged by the color of our skin.they ignored us as if we do something wrong by sitting waiting to be served .a Caucasian couple walks up and sits down and was serve immediately while my sisters and I waited for over 45 minutes.i asked several time was a manager on staff tonight and 2 employees both denied. Than finally Clara whom we conversed with earlier (at this time we didnt know her name) mentioned that previous customers that sat in our area left their debt card. Our response was"they will come back". Now getting her attention again she stated that she thought we were with the women who left her card.by than she gets nasty when she was corrected. Finally after that my sisters and I had enough of being disrespected we decided to leave. as we drove past the establishment again we noticed that Clara and Danielle were wiping off the vacant table and the table that we attempted to dine.
