I give it 4+ stars (could be 5 stars easy). Just passing through Seattle and thought I would enjoy a couple of rounds and decided on West Seattle for the 1st day. the quality of the Course comes out in both the views and in the greens. Spent quite a bit of time chatting with the fellas following the round, shame the Club Membership spoiled a good thing when the City was willing to build a range and renovate the club house... and they fought it. Only two things this Course is missing... a range and a club house that matches the potential of the Course (what are you guys thinking?). Seattle and Tacoma are going to get a lot of visibility over the next couple of years with the Open coming to Chambers Bay, West Seattle Golf Course is a fabulous challenge at a great price... if your in town, hit it! Host course to the 1953 USGA National Public Links Championship and the Seattle City Amateur for the past 20+ years.

If you happen to be in Seattle and feel like enjoying all that Seattle golf has to offer, West Seattle municipal course is for you. Not only is the West Seattle course sport some of the best views and surroundings in the area, the course is very well maintained for a northwest public course. Beware, this course is difficult. Not only is it hilly, it has consistent par 4 and 5s. So keep that in mind when you set your tee time. (Check out the Inter bay golf course for a more executive style Seattle golf course).

West Seattle Golf Course isnt a course for newcomers. It is one of the more difficult public courses in the Seattle area. It rarely seems to rain when I play West Seattle, and it is usually one of the first courses to dry out for the season. One of the best things however, is they are one of a few courses that still charge weekday rates on Friday. This course is a course that requires you to play most of the clubs in your bag. It is a true test of your skills.

Good summer course but..... If Its raining this course is very muddy. Essentially only playable April to September. The greens are extremely slow as well sometimes. The other issue is the clubhouse staff. Everytime we go in to get some food it looks like cafe area is a complete wreck. I know the staff is doing alot but hey your not that busy. Clean up!

Not the best course by quality... But some amazing views, and when you are having a bad day on the greens - that can help. I definitely consider this one of the better city courses in the Seattle area and would recommend playing it when you have the chance. If I remember - it plays pretty slow.

The course is beautifully laid out and well maintained...the greens were exceptional the other day we played. Terrific view of the city from the back 9...helps when youre trudging up and down the big hills.
