The creator of an ideology that murdered 100mm people. You call that art? Wheres a statue of Hitler, Mao or Pol Pot. A previous rating cited red scare as if it was something false. How about real Red Terror of touture and murder from Lenins Bolshevics and the purges that followed with Trotsky and Stalin. Idiot seattle leftist would have been the first these guys purged. Stick to serving coffee and tear that POS down for respect of the people who were murdered in the name of communism

Wow, just wow. I can not believe this statue stands in the US. Historians have estimated that Stalin was responsible for 100 million deaths. However, Mao was far more cruel than Hitler and Stalin combined. Regardless, America is no place for the statue of a communist murderer. The statue was in a dump waiting to be melted down, and thats exactly where it they should have left it. The US should have refused to import it, and Freemont should have refused to let it be installed.

When this, monument to a forever failed evil empire was forcibly installed here, we made it known that the ideology and monument were not wanted. Now, as is the Buckaroo, we have almost all gone away. You remaining wannabe pseudo-communists do not have the nads to live truly how your boy V.I. L. would have demanded. You ignorant posers. Did I trigger you flowers? Need a safe space now? I tried no stars; could not post.

A standing monument to a murderous Dictator and no better than the Souths idolization of a confederate General Lee. Stalin did not think up anything that was not there under Lenin: executions, hostage taking, concentration camps... He inherited the gulags, camps and secret police that were already there. Lenin was the arbitrator of over a MILLION political executions during his leadership. Seattle should be ashamed.

I used to see Lenins statues in my home city for over a decade and all of them were quite better, bigger and more inspiring, if i can put it so. The foot of one of the statues was so big that you could put 10 people on it, so this one in Fremont is a miserable piece of art that doesnt even represent Lenins face properly. Im not a fan of that guy, but in comparison to the other Lenins statues ive this is worthless.

I drove by the statue not knowing the story behind it, because we were searching for the Fremont Troll, anyways, I love all the artwork in cities and sculptures, and when I looked up the history behind this statue of Lenin, it is a great story of how it came to the spot where it is at. There is a story behind each piece of art and we need to learn the stories first before we start discriminating against it.

Great piece of art. Its really disappointing what the place around is turning into. Nazis are people who burn books, destroy monuments and alternate history. Uneducated people whore protesting the statue are not far from ISIS. Im not a big admirer of Winston Churchill, but his quote fits here really well: "The fascists of the future will be called anti-fascists".

Putting all controversy aside (if you read the history behind the adoption of the piece its not really that big of a deal anyway) this statue is an expertly crafted work of art that really makes you appreciate the amount of effort put into this thing. Its in a great location too, check out Royal Grinders for some of the best sandwiches in Fremont!

I wonder how many of these triggered neocons just voted for Putins toy President? Or defend honoring traitors in the South - Lenins a crappy person but at least we never went to war with him and this statue has an amusing backstory. How many died in the Civil War and theyre still glorifying that...

A conflicted piece for a murky legacy. It is our honor in Fremont to host a piece as contentious as the larger than life Lenin. People see this statue as ironic, which it is, but it is a lesson in history, a peculiar rendering of its subject, and an invitation for discourse on revolution.

I wouldnt have put a statue of the founder of communism there either. But its a piece of weird (for us) art that reminds us of that era. Now if they chose to put a statue of Stalin up there Id have to put my foot down. No I dont like communism but I love kitsch and thats what this is.

I dont know the reasons or story behind the statue. To me is just another statue in the street similar to those celebrating war battles... What I didnt like about this one is that it was dirty with some red paint and someone write against the statue over the statue.

My first trip to Fremont, something called out to my Slavic blood and led me to this statue of the most human of all humans. Nowhere else in Seattle was I ever imbued with such righteous Soviet glory and love of the working class. A must see! Слава советскому союзу!

You dont have to be a communist sympathizer to appreciate the historic and artistic importance of this work. The surrounding neighborhood of Fremont is quintessentially Seattle, so this is definitely on my must-visit list for out-of-towners visiting the city.

An utterly fantastic example of Soviet realist art; as well as, a precious artifact of thr workers continued struggle for true Marxist-Egalitarian Liberation. A dimond of hope, within and behind capitalisms lines. Workers Of The World Unite!

Simply Disgusting. Global Communism murdered more than 100 million people. The fact that this statue exists in America is a slap on the face to those suffered under communism. This statue, along with confederate statues, must be destroyed.

Great place to visit. This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the Russian Revolution of which Lenin played a role of great importance. If you are in Seattle visit this monument and try to learn more about the historic significance of Lenin.

Umm, its a statue. Of Lenin. Nothing that exciting except for the 15 seconds one might spend to take a picture. I was across from it during 2016 Solstice Festival, and I think thats enough Lenin statue for a lifetime for me.

There should be a museum like the holocaust museum, to show how many millions of people communists killed. Its even more people than Hitler killed. This statue is like putting up a statue for Hitler in an American city.

Simply appalling that Lenin has any sort of representation within American civil society. Those who review this statue anything better than a 1-star rating are simply brainwashed post-modernist neo-Marxists. Yawn!

So now we honor psychopathic mass murderers ? Lenin killed 4 million people - men, women and little children. He is the 5th greatest murderer of the 20th century (after Stalin, Mao, Hitler and Chiang Kai-shek)

Unique piece of history and a somewhat heartbreaking story about how it arrived in Seattle. If the guy had waited until post-2015 Seattle housing market to sell his house, he couldve bought 2 of this statues!

More than art Lenin means suffering for me. Living for more than 2 decades under communist rule I hate the idea of having this sculpture around. Melt it and erect a monument to democracy and freedom instead.

Odd statue, but there is a plaque explaining why it is there. Protestors feel they have the right to spray paint the statue, so that is upsetting. Worth a quick visit if you are already in the area.
