I was on vacation with my fiancé for my 27th birthday. As a surprise he rented a cabin, and also booked a trail ride. I didnt have a clue where we were going only that I needed to wear closed toes shoes, and jeans. Whence my fiancé pulled into the stables I was beyond ecstatic. When we walked up we were immediately greeted by Lindsay. She didnt miss a beat while getting the horses ready, to make sure we were able to pet the horses and welcomed to walk around and get pictures of each of the horses. We then got checked in, waited for the other people to get check in as well, and then we were all talked to and welcomed again. Lindsay was our trail guide and I will say she was beyond amazing, caring, educated about all the horses, land and trails. She really enjoys what she does and it reflected a lot on our trail ride and made it just that much BETTER! I would recommend Jordan Hollow to EVERYONE. The family are down to earth and make you feel welcomed the moment you are on their property. They take extremely great care of the horses and love them all unconditionally. My fiancé and I left, we get about 10 minutes down the road and I totally forgot to tip Lindsay. We turned around and made an effort to explain to Lindsay how much we enjoyed it, that we will be back again, and we will definitely recommend the stables to everyone. We look forward to another trail ride. When I told Lindsay we wanted to come back for our honeymoon, her eyes lit up with joy and told us she would make sure to have us take a more memorable trail ride with better scenery for more pictures to add to our wedding photos. I feel as if I had known the owners and Lindsay for a long time because they made me feel like family. Thank you for everything Lindsay and we look forward to seeing your beautiful smiling face again here soon. Even if we take a short weekend trip to Stanley, itll be to see yall and the horses. I look forward to riding again soon. Please give lots of hugs and kisses to Zorro, Rose and Penny from Nick and I, along with the other horses.

My wife, kids, and I went on a mini vacation to visit the Luray Caverns, this past weekend. As a bonus, I contacted Jordan Hollow Stables and arranged a horseback riding trail expedition. The Jordan Hollow Ranch was recommended by a gentleman at the Luray Caverns. I spoke with Lisa and she helped get us set up for a Sunday ride. From our first conversation to helping us with accurate directions to the ranch (we got lost with the gps directions), Lisa was so pleasant and made us feel welcomed upon entering and leaving the ranch! The staff members we interacted with were all friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. We got to pick out our horses, and I picked Rosie, she is a beautiful and amazing creature! My wife picked Dunning, my kids each picked their own and we were off! Lindsay is an outstanding tour guide and took us on a really scenic ride, gave excellent instructions on how to ride our horses, educated us on each of our horses characteristics, and she was really positive, upbeat, and enthusiastic! Our overall experience was outstanding and my family would definitely visit the Jordan Hollow Ranch the next time we vacation to the Luray Caverns. The family at JHR are welcoming, professional, and wonderful Christians that allowed my family to share a priceless family memories together! I would highly recommend the Jordan Hollow Ranch to everyone looking to experience horseback riding and pick Rosie, she is a wonderful horse!

My experience at Jordan Hollow Stables this past Saturday was the best trail riding experience in my life (and I have been to like 5 other stables in VA alone). Lisa the owner and all of the employees care deeply for the horses and put their horses welfare first, which is a rarity in the riding service industry. The horses are all well-natured and suitable for riders of all experience levels. Lisa puts thought into making sure each horse is paired with the correct rider rather than just putting random people on horses. Lyndsay was the best trail guide ever! Highly recommend asking for her on your next trip over. She has a great personality, is very engaging on the ride, and makes sure that everyone is comfortable with trotting on the walk/trot ride. She knew her way around, knew all of the horses, taught us about horses, answered all of our questions about the trail and let us repeat parts of the trail we enjoyed. It is worth taking a trip over to the beautiful back roads of Stanley and taking a ride here. You wont be disappointed! Locally owned and operated business too!

My daughter and I have been here three times and had a wonderful experience every ride. A lot of stables overwork and undertrain their horses, but Jordan Hollow takes incredibly good care of them. The horses were very well behaved, other than sneaking the occasional snack, and the trails were through beautiful woods with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the background. Our trail guide Lindsey knows her horses and told us stories about all the funny, adorable, and quirky inhabitants of the stables. She even introduced us to two of her deer friends we met out on the trail. We never go anywhere else when were looking for a trail ride in the areas. Would definitely recommend, especially for people new to horseback riding who might be a little nervous. 6 out of 5 stars!

This is, by far, the best place to go horseback riding in the area. If youre staying at Massanutten it is much better than going to the place on the grounds. I took the 1.5 hr walk/trot trail ride. We rode through beautiful wooded trails alternating between walking and trotting. Most horseback riding places only have you walk and even for beginners that could get boring. Being allowed to trot keeps it fun and interesting. Lyndsay was our guide. She was extremely knowledgable, personable, and a true pleasure to be with. The horse I rode was very responsive and they all looked well cared for. I highly recommend this place to go horseback riding!

My fiance and I had the best time on our trail ride! He had never been on a horse before and Ive been riding for years, and we both enjoyed our ride. Lyndsay was the BEST guide! She was very friendly and accommodating to all the riders in our small group. Ive been on guided trail rides before where the horses stay nose to tail and dont have much personality, but this was a very different experience. The horses are all very calm and easy going, but I was able to get to know my horse, Joe, and enjoyed the ride immensely. I highly recommend Jordan Hollow!

Oh my god! My husband and I visited Jordan Hollow on our honeymoon! Lindsay was our trail guide and she was so kind and personable! She was very understanding of my husbands inexperience and made sure we went at a pace he was comfortable at! Im a little heavy so they made sure I was on a horse that was a good size for me. They were both so passionate and informative about their horses, you could see how much they love and care for their horses. I cant wait to go to Virginia again so I can see them!
