Stayed in the Love Nest cabin for two days. This place was an excellent place to stay, especially perfect if your looking to just relax and have a quick getaway from a hectic life. The cabin is just secluded enough for complete privacy and close enough to activities in the surrounding areas. The cabin was clean and little things such as leaving extra towels and robes (knowing there will time in the hot tub) was nice. There was a small fire pit that was great for roasting marshmallows, etc. Those that dont want to pack a cooler full of food, there is a Wal-Mart less than 15 minutes away. The cabin offers a stove, oven, microwave and all cookware/plates needed. My only suggestion for change would be the bedding. Sheets, pillows, and comforter have clearly been cleaned, but certainly have been used for some time (stains on the pillow and comforter). The bed is very firm, but some people prefer that. Overall, I would recommend this cabin to anyone who asks and also plan on visiting again to stay in other cabins.

Extremely relaxing, and serene I suppose you could say. And as a parent of 2 small children, getting away without them and going to a place that is so quiet is just... nice. It loses a star because, it was difficult to navigate to. We stayed in Prospect cabin, which appears to be an add on to rest of the cabins, and the signage isnt very good, glad we showed up in the light. Then... the bugs. Holy stink bugs batman, and also 2 cockroaches. I understand that in the woods, its hard to control that, but I dont know if they tried. The water stank of sulfur, again I dont know if there is something that can be done, but I didnt really deduct any point for this because i wasnt sure. And finally, the real reason I subtracted a star is because our mattress was horrendous. it was obvious that someone was sleeping in the middle because you found yourself falling towards the center and waking up multiple times a night because of it. But dont let this deter you, this was a great experience.

RENT ONE OF THESE! I highly recommend Lydia Mountain Cabins if you want to get away from the city and enjoy the seclusion of a private cabin tucked into the trees. I stayed here several years ago with some friends from South America, wanting to show them how beautiful Virginia is. We loved the cabin and all the amenities, the friendliness and helpfulness of the manager and staff, and the beauty of the mountains of Virginia. We drove a few minutes down the road to Skyline Drive Parkway, one of the most amazing scenic drives Ive ever been on. We rode horses and hiked, and when we got back to the cabin, we enjoyed the cabins hot tub, which really helped our tired muscles! That evening we went to the evening dinner show- my foreign friends got a big kick out of the live bluegrass music! I hope I get to go back soon.

We rented a cabin in order to attend our grand-daughters wedding at the Pavilion. The cabin was about 5 miles from the pavilion (that is not even explained on the website) and it was up a very steep gravel driveway. After two attempts to go up the drive with a running start and backsliding most of the way down we called the office and explained that the cabin was inaccessible and we needed alternate housing. We were told we should park our car in the road and climb up the hill! We said we wanted an alternate cabin that was accessible to us and the remainder of our party who would be arriving the following day. They found us another cabin and charged $280 more.....We feel this was very poorly handled as it is not our problem that their roads make access to their cabins impossible.

Mountain Paradise Cabin: Upon your arrival, youll realize theres no gamble in this Paradise. Youve already won. A few days of peace of mind and body in a cabin that might as well have been built for you. With a beautiful deck featuring lush forest views, a comfy king size bed, and a wood burning fireplace, you may find yourself more at home here than any place you can remember. This cozy secluded cabin also offers a hot tub to soothe all the aches and cares away. And Mountain Paradise comes with fresh towels, fresh linens and plenty of cozy blankets. A true Mountain Paradise -- where your comfort, coziness and fond memories are assured. 100% recommend for yourself and your better half!

I worried before arriving to the cabin as I tend to have high expectations for my getaways. I had nothing to worry about. Our cabin (#6) was adorable and in perfect condition. While the bathroom was a bit drafty, the rest of the small cabin was cozy. All we had to bring were ourselves, clothes, and food. The cabin was secluded and we did not hear/see other guests during our two day visit. However, during warmer weather Im sure you could choose to be more social and make use of the playground! The views were great and we took advantage of nearby Shenandoah Natl Park/Skyline Dr. to get in some hiking. This area offers some wildlife including deer and birds.

I hope no one else ever finds out about these cabins. Beyond amazing. Glamping at its finest. The hands-off management is both a blessing and a curse; its great to just roll up to your cabin without having to worry about check in, but you are pretty much on your own if theres anything you need. The grill brush that came with our cabin was completely broken, for example, and when we asked for a replacement they told us wed have to go buy one. Similarly, Ive made reservation request twice online but never received a response and had to call them myself to follow up. Other than these quirks, the cabins and location are to die for and you wont regret it.

Was wayyy higher then expected, as I went with my family. We reserved the large 3 bedroom, called 3 bears I think. Very nicely kept, clean, and spacious. Though be advised, there is no cell phone signal in the area (i didnt mind, some do), also they didnt gave us the map of the cabins, so we drove for ~30min, then trying to call people in-charge to find the place! (was late at night, dark and everything is closed and far!) I highly recommend the place, very nice and quiet location, and will come later in the future.

We were there for the 4th of July weekend for 2 nights and we are being accused of burning the kitchen floor when we barely used the kitchen. They did not report this to us immediately. One week later we received an email with damage fee for a burn mark. The management is not hearing us out and only blaming us . Also. the same day different set of guests have arrived. Beautiful cabin but the management cannot be trusted. Cannot deal fairly. Manipulating customers for additional money , Very poor #customerservice!

Unlike most of the cabins that Google searches, these set of cabins I feel are the best around. Ive stayed at quite a few around SNP. Their prices are competitive, the rooms comfortable and filled with many amenities, and perfect for couples. Ive stayed there by myself 4 times, and every time I have enjoyed it. When I get down there, Ill be bringing my lady to show her the trails, the nature, the calm that Lydia provides.
