Wow... What a horrible venue. The floors had this noticeable (and visible) layer of mysterious sticky goo all over the place. I tried not to imagine what concoction it was made of. Everything was overpriced to the point that I thought I was at an NBA game, which is appropriate because the AC sucked so bad everyone was sweating like a basketball player. Also, I wasnt expecting the standing room only floor plan. I get some people like that, but they do not advertise it well (wonder why), especially not on Ticketmaster. I was expecting a standing section by the stage, but most of the venue would be tables and stools covering all the floors and balconies. I would have been more likely to order food and drinks had that been the setup (even at those prices). Their explanation of the floor plan is pretty hipster and indie-level pretentious. Guess what? You dont see better when everyones standing, as many poor girls around me were experiencing. Heck, even at 61" I got stuck behind some 65" guys on and off and had to move. Also, no one can "dance around" because they over-pack the place to the point that Im surprised a Fire Marshal hasnt shut it down for being a safety hazard. 1450 guest capacity? I dont think so, try triple digits. I loved seeing Postmodern Jukebox live, but next time Ill drive to Richmond the night before. Ill never go there again.

Nothing!!!! I now know why I stopped seeing any shows at this dump of a venue spot for bands I like. Worst experience ever, way too expensive for actual seats to sit in which is limited or you have to reserve a seat to sit in a seat. The food was served cold and tasted like dirt, like, who is cooking that prepackaged crap you serve? Ronald McDonald himself? Ill never waste anymore money or time in a musty, old building that was built about 98 years ago. Brings me to another reason I left Norfolk. Its infested with trash, some trashy, nasty, rude people especially the homeless asses, begging for dope or money, or food or all three. F THE NORVA.... ALL MY MONEY WILL BE SPENT AT THE FARM BUREAU AMPHITHEATER IN VIRGINIA BEACH OR THE INTELOS PAVILION IN PORTSMOUTH... AND I CANT STAND PORTSMOUTH EITHER!!! Oh and dont let me get started on the prices for tickets and food. If youre a cover band covering for a band that no longer tours, do a better job at representing said band. Zoso sucked major choade, maybe I shouldve gotten drunk do theyd sound better. Staff is a bunch of fat overly lesbian or gay, and the bouncers are muscle heads who think theyre all that because they are bouncers. Gtfoh... FACE IT,NORVA YOURE TRASH

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! Bought my little sister a ticket for her and I to celebrate her birthday, she doesnt like to drink ever but for the occasion she had 2 beers, she felt herself feeling too drunk so she went very responsibly to the restroom and made herself throw up to feel a bit more sober while I tried to get her some water, The lady staff members knocked on the door and she opened up and they tried to psychically drag her out, mind you they are larger women and she is about 110lbs. She asked them very politely to just let her finish throwing up and she would gladly leave if that was so necessary. I walked in on them slamming the stall door into her side as she was throwing up and i pulled my camera out to record, the manager, Ken Ward came into the womans bathroom after the lady I was recording refused to give me her name, when I started to record him he ran out of the restroom. One of the ladies who were hitting her goes by "Sissy" Mildred Basado is her real name. If you insist on going to this place, be very careful. We essentially stayed for an hour for 53$ each ticket and psychical abuse.

These bad reviews couldnt be further from the truth! AWESOME experience from start to finish. The line to get in is organized, one line for buying tickets and one line for those who already have tickets. Once the doors open the line moves very quickly. The staff, including security, are friendly. The bartenders are very fast and friendly. The earlier you get there the closer to the stage you get. We got in the building about an hour early and got so close that we caught a drumstick and a guitar pick from the band. Acoustics are great, sound system is good. The show is loud but not painfully so. THE HOUSE DJ, DJ TY STREET, IS THE BEST YOU WILL EVER EXPERIENCE! Only complaint the entire night is that the drinks are a little overpriced. Other than that, we will be returning, hopefully several times! The NORVA rocks!

The Norva is such a weird venue. Theres standing room only on the floor level and minimal viewing spots leaning over the railing on the 2nd level. Took my daughter to see The Last Bison and waited an hour to see the opener and another hour for the opening act. We found some empty railing on the 2nd level overlooking the standing crowd on the floor. Ive got a bad back, so in between the opening act and the headliner, we sat on some barstools (away from the railing--giving up our spots) and my daughter put her head down to rest, when one of the bouncer guys came up to her and said, "Just as long as you dont fall asleep." Really? If I paid to see the show, its my prerogative to put my head down to rest, especially if its taking a frikin hour in the middle of the evening to put the headlining show on its feet!

Great experience. Everyone who works there are super duper nice. From the staff at the entrance, bar tenders and bouncers. It was my sons first concert and this Thor looking staff with a man bun brought us upstairs so we can be comfortable watching the show. He just walked to us and offered to sit and even brought the chairs to us. The older man who tags you with the bracelet as you walked in warmed welcome us with a smile both coming in and leaving. One lady offered and gave us posters. The bartenders are quick, careful and nice as well. The place itself is spacious. Over all, we gonna be seeing more shows in this place and will bring more friends. My husband is very pleased and even regretting not taking a job in VA Beach so he can be around NorVa.

The Norva has good music coming through. That is for sure. But the staff are a bunch of assholes. The security kicks people out left and right for no reason. I have been to 50+ rock concerts, since I was 16 years old (now 32) 16 years of concerts and I have never been kicked out. The security guard grabbed me from the back so that I couldnt even see that he was a guard, so naturally I thought I was being jumped. So I successfully got away before he decided to get me again from behind (never even said a word to me, still dont know what I "did") and after throwing me on the ground he dragged me out the door. The usual method is security guards shine a flashlight in your face and tell you to cut something out.
