VERY disappointing ! This was my second visit. Brought two friends from the midwest and was embarrassed. We made sure we had a nice lunch prior to our visit so the wine tasting would not make us tipsy. There were 4 wines chosen for us and an additional wine of your choice. They give you one glass for all five tastes. You can rinse out your glass and dump the water into a separate container. We explained this was our first visit. The young lady was not customer friendly, did not make sure we understood the procedure but did tell us shed collect the $12 fee for each person after we finished the tasting. We asked for a cracker in between tastes. The young lady was sorry but they did not have any crackers. A minute or so later an other lady said they had run out of crackers yet we saw a group be served fruit, cheese and crackers by an employee of the winery. All we wanted was a couple of crackers. No one there was thinking "outside the box". A wine tasting should not occur without something in-between to clean your pallet. The view is spectacular and potential for greatness is there. Very sorry the customer service aspect is so in need of serious training, care and attention. Not busy on Wednesday afternoon @ 2PM. No excuse, just bad service and poor planning on their part.

I came to Harvest Day with friends and family. Wasnt allowed to purchase wine-by glass or bottle- because I was a "volunteer" and I should have been working. Lunch was pushed back until two and the employees served themselves first. When I left people were still waiting to eat. Peoples cars were stuck and ruined in the muddy parking lot. Rude owner an rude staff. Many people today expressed the same displeasure with Harvest Day. The grapes were awful this season from too much rain. Would not come back or recommend this place to anyone. Utterly disgusted. Go to Bishops or Lymans or Jones. Silver lining on this dark cloud- the 22 year old daughter who tried her best to save face for everyone. Im sure this will be erased but I will surely spread the word, as will my friend.

Its too loud inside. When you go to a winery you want a little more peace and quiet than loud. The inside sitting room is very echo-y so you all have to talk very loud to hear your conversation, because everyone else is also being loud. They need to put up some sound absorbers or something. The wine is decent, their reds are my favorite, but they have been slowly increasing the price of the bottles since Ive been going, used to be $12/bottle, now its closer to $20 - and in my opinion the quality has gone down. Amazing views and much more pleasant when the weather is nice and you can sit outside away from the noise. Never had an issue with customer service like a lot of other reviews have said.

I have many friends who had previously visited the winery, so when I travelled to Gouviea for the first time last week, I expected a beautifully built facility with outstanding comfort and charm. I had heard of the warm, friendly staff who welcomed us as old friends, and the warmth of fellow visitors who comfortably mingled as if amongst family. What I did not expect was the delightful quality behind some superbly crafted local wines. The Seyval Blanc and Rose were perfect for the 95 degree day, and I bought some reds for home. As a resident of Central Connecticut, it is a pleasure to visit a winery so close, and yet feel as if Ive just travelled afar. Well done !! I will be visiting again soon.

Worst customer experience ever - the only winery on the CT wine trail I will never give business to again - the staff & owner were rude. we have been here many times before and always done tastings inside, but we were told we could not taste inside and would need to wait 20 minutes for the next large group tasting, - being regular customers, we knew this was not the case, and when I questioned the owner about it, he stuck his finger in my face, called me "lady" and the rudeness went on from there - my husband dragged me out before I could fully "engage", but I figure social media will be his karma - dont bother buying anything here - get your passbook stamped and move on...

We went with friends on their 25th wedding Anniversary. The reason they picked Gouveia Vineyards , is their last Name is Gouveia. We met the owners Family of the Gouveia vineyard, Joe Gouveia. We ended up buying some bottles of wine. Wallingford was a nice fiendly place, when some restaurants heard it was their 25th wedding Anniversary , they didnt charge for the food, some gave deserts for all of us on the house. Sadly Gouveia Vineyards didnt acknowledge or give anything to the Gouveias on their 25th wedding anniversary even when they mentioned it to Joe & his Wife their 25th Anniversary ,its my last visit to the Gouveia Vineyards.

Ive lived in the Wallingford area almost all my life and was so surprised to find a wonderful vineyard right in my own back yard. Who knew?! The scenic views were spectacular and the wines were a most pleasant surprise. I will definately do that again. I have shared my experience with at least a dozen people in the days that followed. Do yourself a favor and experience this for yourselves. You wont be disappointed.

Excellent location and vineyard house has an old world look/feel about it. Looks like someone took a small country chateau from Europe and dropped it in the middle of CT. It is a great place to sit with friends and family to have a glass of wine. You are allowed to bring your own food to make an extended stay of the trip.

Horrible service. In their defense, it was a busy day but they had no signs or people telling you how to get a tasting and workers at the bar were to busy to respond to questions. After waiting in two "wrong" lines for an aggregate 30+ minutes, We just got frustrated and left.

Extremely impressed. Their reds are grown on the Vinyard and surprisingly good for native red grapes. Their whites are equally good. Recommend the Seyval Blanc. The grounds overlook the farmlands and the staff were very friendly. Difinitely worth going.

Wine is delicious but its not the friendliest wait staff. I found them to be a bit standoffish and rude. Perhaps they lack training? I did purchase two bottles of wine but still didnt get a nod, a smile or a thank you. Too bad. Its a lovely place.

The views are great! This place is all about location. The wine was ok but the sangria and chocolate wine are fantastic. They allow you to bring your own food (no outside beverages) and the staff are helpful and friendly.

Great place but they need to get their tastings vs. bottle purchasing straight because theres no method and waits are long. One bar should be tastings and the other for everything else.

Nice selection of vines. Amazing views of the surrounding rolling hills that make for great drinking and snacking on the surrounding property. Can be quite busy on weekend.

Really nice place with extraordinary views. Wines are very good. Bring food and invite your friends. Good place to have a gathering without having to host at home?
