This is a wonderful, delightful museum! With two floors and tons of space for each exhibit, my daughter had a fantastic time. The exhibits are mostly interactive. We really loved the music and sound room with the giant piano keys on the floor. Downstairs is an area that reflects the local community with a grocery store, police station, buses, etc. Our favorites were the Tea Room and the Culture Room. Very nice! I guess the topper to this whole experience was when my daughter left her favorite stuffed bunny at the museum. There were lots of tears as this is the bunny she needs for EVERYTHING! We left when it was closing and so I called first thing the next morning. I spoke with Wes Penney at the University, who actually kept me on the phone while he went in search of the bunny. He finally found it in the community area. A few days later, we received the package in the mail! My daughter was so happy! So aside from this Waco childrens museum being truly awesome and educational, the staff have added that special touch.

Glad my family and I decided to hang out in Waco for the day. Started the morning at the Mammoth Monument to beat the summer heat and moved the day trip in to the Mayborn Museum. This place is a must see especially if you want to be indoors and and see/do cool things with your children. Very spacious and inexpensive (military discount pricing) and plenty to see! We will definitely be making more trips to visit the Mayborn Museum!

We went to Magnolia Market but it was way to busy for our family, so we found this museum on trip advisor and LOVED it. My kids 4-9 were entertained for HOURS. My oldest has autism and sometime museums are hard for him and he doesnt last long. We expected to be there for 1 hour or so, but this museum had so much hands on engaging exhibits he lasted over 3 hours.

Mayborn Museum is a great place to take kids! My 3 and 4 year old children were thoroughly amused for hours. They loved Play Waco, Water and Bubbles, and Light and Sound. I loved the hands on exhibits which encouraged my children to really get involved and learn while having fun.

One of the best places to take your kids in Waco. There are a huge variety of fun and educational activities which are updated regularly. If you get a membership, the Mayborn Museum is a fantastic deal--money well spent for frequent visits that your children will love.

One of the Best Children museums... one trick is the place is HUGE and half the second floor is empty seating. We wandered around and though not much was there... it took a second visit to find the large swath of stuff on the second floor. So keep looking...

Great place for kiddos to learn, just wish they change things up a bit more often for the little ones. My toddlers only visit once a semester and still seem a little bored within 30 min. There are cool exhibits for older kids and adults, though!

Not too bad for a small museum. Mostly things for kids. Make sure you check the football team schedule since they are closed if there is a game. Why? Who knows? Just another seemingly academic institution bowing down to the money from sports.

Really cool place to take the kids, my 5 year old and two 2 year olds LOVE it. Perfect for rainy or cold days and the staff is super nice. They are always changing something up so its like going to a new place every few months or so :)

A lot of wasted space. The building is so beautiful but there is definitely a significant lack of utilization. Also the village out back was closed and the looked like the coolest area. My little one was pretty bummed.

This museum has a great childrens discovery section. My grandchildren had a blast learning about everything from physics to tea parties and trains. The admission is very inexpensive and family passes are available.

Wonderful museum. The kids had a ball. Lots of things for them to interact with and lots of space for the 2 year old to run. Fun for all ages and very interesting. Defiantly a must see.

This was a really well thought out museum and very well put together. I became a member on visit #1. Waco did well on this one and I expect to attend a lot of the additional activities.

The staff went over and above to make sure our tour group of Elementary School students understood what the museum had to offer and that they felt welcome. It was a great experience.

We were members for the three years we lived in Waco and our kids loved their exhibits. Perfect for a day that is too hot or cold to be outside. This is a great childrens museum.

This is not one of the biggest museums in Texas but I still had a great time with my family there. The museum has many nice items on display and very informational.

A bit overpriced for a childrens museum, but the traveling exhibits are usually well done. The permanent collection is not very interactive.
