Save your money! It is WAY over priced for what you are getting. Supposedly they have new grass but there is still a LOT of weeds and carpet grass on the fairways. Other than the grass I couldnt tell any major changes. Its still the same layout but the front and back nine have been switched. Many of the greens were in poor shape and were bumpy. There is very little in the way of water stations so you better pack in your own because there wasnt a cart girl. The golf carts are obviously some old used gas carts that looked to be repainted but were slow, LOUD and crappy. And speaking of golf carts. You had better be ready to carry your clubs a LONG way in from the parking lot. You can not go out to your car to get your clubs and they darn sure dont have any one there to help you so if youre old or handicapped youre pretty well screwed. There isnt even a bag drop location out front anymore. Oh, and when you DO finally get to a cart you cant have a key until 10-15 minutes before your tee time. I left feeling very ripped off so I will not be going back probably EVER!! There are just too many better golf courses in San Antonio to play for that kind of money. Their big focus seems to be on trying to upgrade you to a players pass for an additional $99 per year to get you $30 off the green fee of $79. No way is this course worth $79. For that price you should expect a certain amount of amenities which are absent. At $49 it wouldnt be much more of a bargain. This is sad because at one point this was a really nice course to play. Their restroom facilities are still lacking with only ONE on the course located in the middle. Not convenient at all. While I will admit that the staff was pleasant but not particularly helpful.

This was one of the first courses I played in San Antonio in 2006, and back then it was a phenomenal course and an exceptional value for the money, a real gem. Every year thereafter, things got steadily worse... I lost count of how many times it was under new management, as each successive management company took this course and drove it into the ground even further than the company before it. Course conditions went from spectacular (beautiful greens and fairways) to so-so conditions, to absolutely awful. The practice green in front of the club house had more crab grass in it than bermuda. The green fees went up every year even though the course conditions continued to decline, making the value of playing there less and less. It used to be about $29 with cart in 2006, but then topped over $40 (maybe even close to $50 on the weekends) for brown, haggard fairways and staff that seemed to care less and less about your golf experience or their course. I just tried calling 3 different numbers to find out when the course will be reopening, and all 3 are out of service. Just par for the course when it comes to management companies for this once great facility. Keep your expectations low, and you might not be disappointed. Well see...

It has been fun watching the new company take over from the previous owner. Digging up the course and putting in a new brand of grass, the same set for the Olympics, was a little sad because the course is being redirected. Last I heard Number 10 will be the number 1 hole. The waste bunker on the old #14 was supposed to be turned into a water hazard. If thats true it is going to be one tough hole. There is some redirection on the new back nine to accommodate the housing units built parallel to the course on the west side. It appears there is major rennovations to the range and a new practice area has been constructed. Like many players who saw the course gradually decline I am confident the new owners who also run ConCan will do a great job. I played almost every day until the two years before the course closed...looking for the soft opening in March.

I checked in 45 minutes before my tee time, and was told I could not check in that early as it would look like I would be getting charged twilight and teeing off earlier...finally someone behind the counter said just do it...did not understand that logic. The fairways are so bare, you cannot take advantage of the new grass. Greens had quite a few bare spots. A lot of the tee boxes have tons of sand on them. Was really pumped when I read they had a major reno...I did not notice anything different with the layout other than they flipped the 9s. Good news, we played in 3 hours!!! It will be tough to get play at $79...I would say for the $35 we paid, it was about right. Unless you live close to the course, there are tons of courses in San Antonio in great shape for less (during prime time rates).

Played there today and would call it ok. This is the first time I played since they reopened. The $40 green fee was reasonable. More than that would be overpriced. The nines have been switched but no other changes to the layout. The new grass has potential but needs to mature a bit. Most of the tee boxes were quite rough with a lot of sand. Fairways were nice but a number of greens had bare spots. The rough and "natural" areas need some work. A lot of weeds in those areas. Cleaning that up would make the experience more enjoyable and visibly pleasing. All in all I hope the current management can keep moving the course in the right direction. This is a fun layout and can be great once the conditions improve.

I cannot believe this place. How awful they are! What a horrible experience. Please know the restaurant has horrible service. How sad that Kayla lied to us and said there was no manager on duty when there was. How sad Kayla lied to us when she would take off a meal from our bill bc they sent it out half way complete then took 30 mins to fix it AFTER we asked multiple times to make it right. Shame on you Kayla and Cooks.

Played this course for the first time yesterday. The grass was incredible! The ball always sits up with a perfect lie and makes ball-striking much easier. The carts are equipped with GPS and a digital scorecard to add to the experience. Food was great after the round, and the bartenders were friendly. Almost forgot... The green fee with cart was only about $30! Highly recommend this place.

Horrible!! Waited 15 min in the restaurant/bar while the staff walked around helping all the "locals"... watched as new people came in and served... moved to the bar... still ignored, while the staff chatted with the regulars. After another 10 minutes, asked to see the management(they thought that was funny). So unless they know you or you are dressed to impress, I wouldnt waste my time...

For the price and condition of the course, it cant be bear. The greens were slow but alive in the summer heat. The memberships are very reasonable and there is a level for anyone. The grill is spotty and I would not recommend a hamburger, especially if you like something other than well done. We sent every hamburger back because they were all charred and well done when we ordered medium.
