The course is not bad, but average at best, completely over run with deer (full of deer skat) and the club is out dated and entertains some of the most arrogant snobs Ive ever met compared to many others. As we played the game through, we saw that kids were told they were not allowed to fish in the creek that flows there and run off by a representative of the club. We were well dressed, well mannered, and caused absolutely no problems...just a nice relaxing day with dad, but we were clearly recognized as non-members and treated as such. As nice and cordial as a 50 year old and 73 year old could possibly be, the manager was still an absolutely arrogant raging prick to us too. ...Dad was looking for a place with a course, where he could finally settle. Its a shame too. He practically gives his money away and no doubt would have offered to renovate the entire club house and followed through with every wish list offered. Mill Creek golfers...you can stick it. Never again. We have many friends in Salado. I think we will seek them out for their review as well.

I had a similar experience as Alba. As it was explained to me from the club representative (Brent McCallum) who said, "Youre not a member, are you...?" in an arrogant and condescending tone) the owner of the golf course does not want ANYONE fishing in the creek who is not a member of the "club". - The creek is a wonderful place to relax, and the only creek that runs through Salado. The neighborhood with the course makes up about half of the town. As it stands, all that you can do with the creek is look at it from a distance from the public road. And yes, the DEER, some with obvious lime disease, and an army of deer ticks, ...the course is completely over run with these pests. Ive never seen so many deer in a few square miles. Youll step in plenty of deer skat. And by the way Mr. Arrogant Prick Club Rep, who approached me so determined to sounded assertive, you didnt have to be so nervous...

J.L. Louis(manager) is a hot head who wasnt sociable as we interrupted his game with a complaint. We had a 6 man group which we werent informed that 5 is the limit when we began. He stormed off telling us to call the owner and went back to his game. There were 4-5 other groups on the course and we werent holding anyone up at any point. Rest of the staff was friendly and tried to be accommodating. This one person ruined the whole experience and I wouldnt recommend this course due to him

Decent course. Small range and kind of pricey. Not worth the price on weekends. Older community so expect that they play fast but all 6 of them will have their own cart. Roughs are very long but tee boxes and greens are maintained.

Golf Course in great conditions. By September the front NINE holes will be open to the public making it like the ORIGINAL 27 holes. Those 9 first holes are the most challenging and beautiful.

The course is in recovery from a fever rain when there were several holes were washed out by rain and an overflowing river. The holes played were demanding and picturesque.

Yep...the price, the deer, the deer poop, the members. Salado is wonderful. Stay away from the golf course, and the creek.
