I will not recommend this venue for anyone that wants to have a wedding. We signed the contract last year and paid them in full, and all of a sudden we are told that we are required to have a caterer if we plan on having food at all. They will not allow us to even have sandwiches for our guests so our options are to find a caterer within 60 days of our wedding or our guests wont be eating anything at all. The contract doesnt even say that it is a requirement to have a caterer, all it says is that the caterer needs to be a licensed person and that they are responsible for the cleanup of the food. IT DOES NOT SPECIFICALLY STATE THAT A CATERER IS REQUIRED! When we told them that, they said, "Oh well its implied so you need to have one". They never told us that we had to have one. They wont compensate us for their mistake and they are basically telling us to deal with it. This is just one of the many problems that we have with them. Other problems include them telling us a specific setup time for our date and then telling us something completely different within 90 days of the wedding, the unprofessional handling of the situation and responses that arent genuine. Definitely not worth $4000. Our day is ruined, all because of them. No matter what happens from this point on, all we are going to think about and what we are going to remember is that The Legacy screwed us over by not (according to them) telling us what should have been said when we signed the contract and that all they care about is getting money from you. Do yourselves a favor and look somewhere else. They lied about what they said in the past and they arent willing to fix their mistakes. There are cheaper places that are more than willing to make your day special and are way nicer. Im not writing this in an angry mood, the moment has passed that and my thoughts are gathered again, i just want to make sure no one else goes through what we are going through.

While this place is very nice...its ridiculously expensive to have a wedding here and there are tons of extra fees that get added on! this place is a church and its crazy how much they charge just to rent the building (4,000 dollars!). Please do your research on other venues in lubbock that are just as nice and MUCH cheaper before booking this place.

Legacy has a lot to offer. The new restaurant Pickle and the Pig is open for lunch and dinner...their food is delicious! They also have some fantastic artwork on the walls. Plus large event rooms and an unbelievable organ! My organization is having an event here in October and John and Nestlie have been super helpful and fun to work with. Thank yall!

The ABSOLUTE BEST VENUE IN LUBBOCK. John and Emily were so amazing in every aspect of helping us make sure our day was everything we wanted. The location is beautiful and a one stop shop for everything you need from the beautiful chapel with the working pipe organ to the reception hall that features gorgeous local art work.
