Yes the area is historic but this memorial can be seen and observed in 15/30 seconds. Not much more than that. if you want to sit and reflect, then you can spend more time at the memorial but the average tourist will be done in 15 seconds. Now the purpose and design of the memorial is to be plain and simple so that it encourages quiet reflection. I guess it achieves its purpose. I would not drive across town purposefully to view this attraction but if you want the whole experience and you happen to be in Dealey Plaza then it might be worth a quick view.

The old courthouse is absolutely fabulous (just from an architectural perspective), the JFK memorial is interesting to see, and you can see the grassy knoll and the spot in the street where JFKs car was when he was shot all within easy walking distance and for free. If you want to go upstairs to see the whole courthouse, there is a fee, and the museum in the records building is likewise not free. You can pay to park by the museum even if you dont buy a ticket to go in. The museum does validate parking if you do pay to visit.

A must see for one of the most shocking events in our history. Young kids were not interested, but teen and adults were. it was before I was born, but I could still feel something as we were there. We just looked around, no tour guide for the things we looked at.

Took my family down here. Great day to learn about history and time to spend with the family. The audio tour is not that great. I would just rather listen to my iPod and move along with the crowd. I like listening to captain beefheart and his magic band

I found this to be a pretty interesting place to visit. I remember where I was, and what I was doing when I heard the news that President Kennedy had been shot. It is located in Dealy Plaza right across from the old School Book Depository Building.

A must visit if you are going to the 6th floor museum. Great memorial to JFK. The only reason I left 4 out of 5 stars is that it seems to be a missed opportunity to put a statue in the middle of the structure, its a bit empty without it.

A somber tribute to JFK where his life was tragically cut short by a sniper. The monument seems very plain when you see it, but stand there and remember the situation that caused the monument to be built and your perception will change.

Beautiful setting in this city. Close to a lot of history and a quaint little park with a play fountain for the kids. Was disappointed to see people standing on top of the center piece of the memorial, but that was no fault of the city.

A nice little spot to walk around or have lunch downtown (there are a few park benches). Theres a little bit of information on the assassination and an interesting memorial (thats supposed to look like its floating, but it doesnt).

Drove by twice and had no idea what it was. Even ran by it once. Was visiting Dallas for four days and stayed just a few blocks away. It wasnt until the last night there that a local told me about it. Wish I would have known.

The Dallas City Tour was very informative & confirmed my belief that the Dearly Beloved President John F. Kennedy was ASSASSINATED BY A SEGMENT(S) OF THE US GOVERNMENT LIKE MANY OF PROMINANT PEOPLE ESPECIALLY IN AMERICA.

Sad but true that Dallas and the JFK assassination are intrinsically connected. Dallas has done a lot to commemorate the spot. The upkeep is nice. Beware of the tour guides. Visit the Museum if you want answers.

Beautiful architecture to honor J.F.K. , free to visit and easily accessible, with a plaque out front, full of historical information about J.F.K. and the artist who made the Memorial.

Interesting memorial to JFK. The signage needs to be updated however. If you are visiting the plaza then the short walk over behind the red courthouse is something you should do.

Somewhat stark and deserted. The place needs a revamp for its aging memorials, and there really isnt a celebration of JFKs achievements which would complement the memorial itself.

Its a memorial of a tragic event that shaped the nation, something everyone should stop by and see. It could use some more monuments to JFKs acchivements.

Its a good place to see for its historical importance, but appart from that theres not much to see, except for the restaurants and stores around.
