I was looking to bowl today (December 13) at the Star Lanes - Greenville, SC location. I called yesterday (December 12) and listened to the hours and learned that the lanes open at 12 noon on Sundays. I waited to speak to a staff member to see what open-bowl times were on Sundays so as to not show up and find out it was a time for leagues-only. I was told that I could come between noon-6:30pm for open bowl. I arrived today at 12:05 to find the doors locked and a sign on the door indicating opening at 1pm on Sundays. I called back and listened to the hours on the phone number which indicated 12 noon opening on Sundays. I waited to talk to someone who let me know that it was a 1pm opening on Sundays. Rather than wait outside in the parking lot for an hour, we left without bowling. As we were leaving we saw another couple drive past the door and we let them know that they opened at 1pm. They indicated they had called and heard that the lanes open at noon on Sundays. Both my party of 4 and that other couple left without bowling.

I love AMF Star Lanes! I basically grew up in this bowling alley because my mother and father both bowled in leagues there since I was a kid until I moved away! I remember Al because he would always be there working! Lol! A little pricey but we bought the Summer Passes that the lady shift manager recommended and we have enjoyed getting back into bowling. The staff is very helpful and always willing to help. My only complaint is that the guy that works in the kitchen was busy helping people bowl when there was no one working the kitchen so that we could get drinks. I love Star Lanes! Plus, I love the recent updates that theyve done to the place!

Service is horrible every time I go. Staff is very rude and slow. Dont expect to get the deals advertised online, because you wont get them. Just recently bought a ball and shoes from the pro shop and he was the only friendly/helpful employee. Im taking my weekly business to simpsonville. UPDATE* The general manager called me about my review and was very nice. He said he would address the issues and asked for me to continue being a customer. I may give this place one more chance to see if things change because of its convienent location to my home.

We enjoyed the blacklight bowling they had on Friday night and the server was really on top of taking care of us. However, they will play whatever videos they want after 10 regardless of how many children there are. Most of the adults in the bowling alley were uncomfortable as the videos were definitely R rated showing very graphic scenes. When we confronted the manager we were told they will play whatever they want after 10 and its our problem if we dont like it.

They tell you that you will get $3.00 off your next visit if you fill out the online survey on the receipt.. The recipe says the same thing - "3.00 off your next visit"... When you take the survey and print the $3.00 off coupon, they WONT honor the coupon "On Your Next Visit"... When you try to redeem the coupon, then they tell you a long list of reasons why you CANT use the "3.00 off your next visit" coupon.

I thought it was very expensive for a game ... Over $4 each plus over $4 for each pair of shoes even my 3 year old neice that stood at tbe line and pushed her ball off the ramp. I dont mind spending money if there is a value but over $4 for shoes for a 3 year old was a gouge. Attendant should have told us she does not need shoes to do the kind of bowling she will do. We will not return.

For a bowling alley it is pretty clean, but it is in a terrible location, awful parking lot, old carpet inside, and several lanes out of order. I will say the staff is friendly and there is a decent selection of balls. For a bowling alley, it doesnt have the typical bad smells. I bring my family here frequently and we always enjoy it, but leave with the familiar scent all over us.

This place has been dingy and old since I was young... and still, it stands. What else is there to be said? Its a bowling alley. At least the food has gotten better since my childhood. Not by much, but at least by a little. Pro Tip: Steer clear of the nachos. That cheese doesnt even look like its from this planet. I am Jacks wary eye.

Rating two stars because as a family of 4 with our two small boys we paid $41 for ONE game of bowling. That is just outrageous to me. Two stars because we did have fun, would have played another game if it wasnt going to cost a fortune. We will NOT be back.

This place is the best bowling alley in the area. The service is great and the lanes are well-maintained. To me, this is the place to go to improve your game or join a league. It doesnt get too hectic if youre serious about bowling.

We had so much fun! It was a little different than the place I went growing up as you paid per person per game and not for the lane per hour. I wish you had the option for either. Definitely will go back.

Its definitely one of the nicer alleys Ive been to in Greenville. The staff are friendly and the food is fair. The summer passes are always worth a buy if you plan to Bowl a few times over the summer.

These lanes havent been updated since the 70s. There isnt much seating. The scoring machine is very old and not user friendly. No tvs or other entertainment while you are bowling. I wont be back.

Great atmosphere. A little crowded on weekends. The front desk is usually rude. The waiters and other staff are very nice and friendly. Overall clean place, great drinks, decent food.

Good basic bowling alley for the Greenville. Best overall bar/lanes/vibe of the local places. Being an AMF chapter helps with deals and leagues too

Staff has zero sense of urgency. Concessions people were borderline hostile. Most of everyone that worked that there seemed super pissed off.

Surprisingly clean and well taken care of, probably the best experience Ive ever had at a bowling alley, parking lot is not well lit at night
