We were lucky and were the only 2 with a very knowledgeable docent. Lots of history, art history, antique history, and cultural background. She gave us a real sense for the social protocols of colonial times. The antiques were very special, many I would consider national treasures. Also, an interesting view of where and how slaves worked and lived within a wealthy household. Thank you for the tour and commentary.

Loved my visit! Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was a very small group and we moved through the house pretty quickly but not too fast. The house and furnishings were interesting to look at, especially because of their historical value. It was a great way to spend part of the afternoon.

Visited this historic home on our last day in Charleston and it was so worth it. Not only is this a lovely home to look through but the guides are so very friendly and knowledgeable that it makes the experience all the more enjoyable. If you love history or archaeology this is a great tour to take!!

Great house with the out buildings and furniture of the time. The docent seem confused at times and was not able to answer most of our questions. Rather upsetting, she kept describing how the poor kept trying to ruin all the great stuff the rich had created.

Our tour guide was very nice and was very knowledgeable about the house. It had beautiful furniture including some pieces that were priceless. The tour was a good length and they did allow time for the guests to look at the outside area and garden alone.

This house radiates history and is so cool. I would recommend doing this house tour with the Charleston Museum with a joint ticket. The guide was great and knew her history. It was interesting to see how wealthy people lived back in the day.

Beautifully restored house. I particularly appreciated all the original furniture pieces, which were gorgeous. The guide was very informative but it was hard to get her off of autopilot!

One of the better historical homes to visit in the Charleston area. Great pieces of furniture in the home. Nice gardens to explore before and after the tour.

My favorite tour of the 12 or so we took. George Washington himself stayed in the house while visiting Charleston.
